What car should we buy?
An MX5 is rear wheel drive remember, but how about a tidy Nissan Stagea 4WD estate http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/193225-awesome-spec-nissan-stagea-rs4.html

Is it wrong to be in love with this
At the end of the day if you can tell that it's quality kit then you can't really go wrong mate I've got a secondhand Snap On chest in my garage and the quality is top drawer (excuse the pun) whilst the others vary quite a bit quality wise, even the same branded kit differs somewhat with some parts made of very soft metal. but as I said if the quality of that one is good then go for it bud

Is it wrong to be in love with this
It depends on how much you can get it for I suppose mate I've got a few Clarke and Sealey tool chests and drawer units in my van and the quality is alright for ocassional use but they're certainly nowhere near the quality of Snap On. If you can pick up a second hand Snap On chest off ebay for the same price in all honesty I'd take that over the cheaper option everytime

MPV dilemma....
Certainly plenty of food for thought I wouldn't tow with the Touran, it's got plenty of power (its twin charged) but I think it's quite a light vehicle despite it being a propper 7 seater. The Grandis (we've had both the 2.4ltr petrol and 2ltr diesel) are ideal for towing. For now I'm considering using our old Toyota Granvia as a tow/support wagon for trailering the zed around. There are other options but I'd have to check the legality and practicality aspect of towing with the business wagon on just a Cat C licence But you are right the Grandis is a better looking vehicle than the Touran, especially in black

MPV dilemma....
Cheers mate I've done a bit more digging and I think it's the same engine as the one that VW put in the mk6 Golf TDI, so fingers crossed it may only require a few minor modifications to fit in a Grandis and Golf TDI engines aren't that hard to come by We are really hoping that the farm comes off for us, we've spent a long long time searching for the right one that's close enough to a good school etc, because this will be us now no more moving. We were given good news this afternoon by the morgage provider so the ball is rolling slowly but surely, we've already started to box the house up....I'm running out of fingers to cross

MPV dilemma....
Well we find ourselves with a bit of a dilemma on our hands and I wouldn't mind your thoughts on this one. Back last year our family wagon threw a rod on the M4 and has since been parked up. A week or so later we went and bought a different MPV (a VW Touran) so that the wife had a means of transportation and I didn't have to do the school run in a 7 tonne HGV (which was interesting!) The Mitsubishi is a '56 plate Grandis Warrior turbo diesel, being the Warrior edition it obviously has full leather interior, all of the usual toys and to be fair is in bloody good condition. We figured that prior to the engine issue it was worth around the £7500 in the current market, but of course that's with a running engine. The engine is a VW lump, similar to the Outlander and a few VW's though the Grandis varient seems to be few and far between (I suppose they rarely go wrong). Anyway, we're weighing up the pro's and con's of either storing it for a bit longer until we have time to source an engine and fit it/have it fitted (which is difficult as we're moving to a farm out in the sticks and have several other cars and caravans that also need to come with us), or alternately we could sell it as a non runner (which clearly would be the easier option but would mean we would get a lot less for it). Realistically it wouldn't have the engine sorted by the time we moved so it would have to be trailored and then sorted once we were settled. Breaking isn't an option as the same issues with transportaion etc applies. We could as I say, sell it as a non runner but how would you determine what it's worth in that instance (there are no Mitsubishi Grandis non runners being sold at present as far as I can tell so wouldn't have a clue where to start) Any suggestions guys?

What's a sensible boost for a 300zx on stock engine?
I do recall reading that the earlier R32 Skyline GTR's were fitted with ceramic turbines with the exception of those fitted with the N1 engine. I believe (though could be mistaken) that the R33 and R34 had the same steel turbines, not sure on the 'S' bodies though?

Cool, that way people know that you're legit and know what you're doing whereas I'd be trying to plug my ipad into the end of my exhaust and/or washer bottles to....uh....determine the scientific squiggly amp mapping stuff! Very important stuff....

International seller/agent question....with a bit of ebay thrown in for good measure
I've always said, the Karma Police never sleep....it will always catch up with you in the end and as far as I'm concerned I'm going to do everything to bring the prick to justice and face up to his crimes *runs off to put his Batman outfit on  I'd be very surprised if they (Severnside Imports/LBD) even entered a car/cars this season, ripping off Phil and Driftworks is a big old bridge to burn... it does seem to be the trend with this guy though, he gets what he can out of people and then screws them over royally. He screwed Luke Fink over for fook' sake, and that was his own driver!!!
