  1. How - - - Updated - - - will - - - Updated - - - I ever - - - Updated - - - get to - - - Updated - - - 6000 - - - Updated - - - posts?
  2. Well interestingly enough Phil Morrison, owner of Driftworks, has been on the recieving end of the same fat little tea leaf that owes me an uber RX7 *not sure why I can't cut and paste but this is the thread that Phil has just posted Julian Barnes: Thief - Severnside imports - Achillies Tire - Low Brain Drifters
  3. at that time....I'd say most were in bed mate
  4. He competed in ODC 2010 and 2011 then had a mad last minute flap on in the beginning of 2012 after being invited up to Birmingham Wheels to compete in Drift Allstars, hence the requirement for nomex I've got a few formality's that I've been working through over the last few months with BMSAD and MSA regarding my licence for 2013 (I'm not planning on divulging what for just yet) but should be in hand well in time for the season start, I'll report after the first shakedown with video and pics
  5. Ok it's a bit of a random thread title and to be fair it's not a particularly interesting thread, but here go's I thought I'd share it with you anyway... Last year I leant a mate of mine my Nomex kit and spare helmet for the 2012 season and his dog evidently took a fancy to the old Sparco suit bag that the coveralls were in. He was very appologetic (my mate that is not the dog!) and duly sourced a replacement. The courier delivered all of my kit and the replacement bag the other day and as I was going through it all to give it a bit of an airing, I noticed the team name and former owner of the bag: AT&T WILLIAMS ROSBERG Like I said, not particularly interesting but it's a nice little touch that I've got my race kit in one of Nico Rosberg's old suit bags.
  6. The age old SMIC vs FMIC argument = me bored shitless at yet another dose of theoretical internet based urban myth arguments and counter-arguments and in this instance I suspect that it would detract from what has thus far been an extremely interesting and informative topical debate *FMIC's must be better because they look hard as nails.....that is all! :tt2:
  7. It would be nice for a VG build SME and a tuning SME to get together and thrash out the why's and what for's and actually establish what's myth and what's not with regards to the zed's engine *SME - Subject Matter Expert
  8. I'd agree with that statement and on a side note, I wonder what the thread ratio is on this forum of "Look at my massive new turbo's that I've just imported" compared to "I spent the money replacing my fuel filter and cleaning my spark plugs as part of my general maintenance plan"........not half as exciting or interesting I suppose

  10. Eratosthenes was slated by experts for thousands of years having claimed that the earth wasn't in fact flat, as was Columbus in more recent times as it transpires this pair of lunatics ^^^^^ weren't full of shit after all, make of that what you will
  11. Z31's aside I would have to say the worst car for reliability that I have ever owned was my MG BGT when I was 18 It's true what they say about cars having their own personality and I'd liken the MG to an 80 year old pensioner with a whole bag of chips on his shoulder....it usually went something like: Started first time.....driving beautifully.....not a care in the world (suddenly)....stops working, no bangs, no rattles, no explaination it just stopped....10 minutes stood at the side of the road staring at the engine, followed by the sporadic un-educated 'touching' of all things enginey'.....then without so much as a struggle the engine would fire up and run like a dream until the next day when the obnoxious old ****s personality would rear its head again! It could drive for a hundred miles on B roads and wouldn't miss a beat or overheat in the slightest....never did figure what was wrong with it
  12. This is turning out to be quite possibly the most interesting factual thread I've read for quite a few years on this forum
  13. Watching it now (recorded).....fookin' madness!
  14. Just following on from the first post (I didn't feel that my query warrented a new thread) 17" x 8.5" (ET 30) front and rear Only to be used for second set to run wet tyres (235 front/255 rear) thoughts please?
  15. Any updates on what the outcome of this was?
  16. Ok so a good 2-3 days of graft should see it done, cheers mate
  17. I've removed a VG30DETT but have never fitted one All deletes are done, it's a case of re-assembling the engine (the bottom end is already built as are the heads). I'm trying to gauge how long approximately it usually takes
  18. Just thought I'd ask the question out of interest... Assuming that you have two days free time, can work 24hrs a day if needs be but are on your own (and relatively competent), how long would you expect to take to re-assemble a VG30DETT in the following state? - bottom end already built and on engine stand - heads already built and ready for covers to go on - everything else (turbos/manifolds/gaskets/plenum/fuel rail and injectors/alt/pumps/pulleys/belts etc) all sat on the bench and ready to fit at a guess how many hours would you expect it to take flat out to: (1) re-assemble the engine ready to drop in (2) Remove the current engine with hoist (3) Re-fit the new engine with the car on a- ramps b- driveway
  19. Yes, I see the Christmas spirit is strong in this one..... :tt2:
