Rear shunt
Ok fair enough, I hope he comes good with the cheque so you can crack and get the damage sorted
-
Rear shunt
but don't 'both' parties involved have to give details of their name and address (or did I mis-read that and you did in fact give him your details)?

The thing is mate if the other guy has reported it to the Police and you haven't (for all the right reasons) you could get royally screwed for not reporting it as an accident. A friend of mine, Gaz, got whacked with 6 points and a £1000 fine last year for clipping the wing mirror of an old dears car as they drove past each other on the country lane just outside the entrance to their cul de sac. He pulled over a couple of hundred yards up the road to check for damage (just a minor scuff on his wing mirror) he could see that she hadn't pulled over so thought nothing more of it. As it turned out a friendly 'neighbour' stopped the old dear and gave Gaz's details, subsequently the old dear reported it as an accident and claimed that the other driver hadn't stopped (which technically in the eyes of the law he hadn't as he was a few hundred yards further up the road). Like I said, he got screwed big time, so just be careful mate especially if this other guy knows that you didn't report it. Edit: Laptop just shit itself!!

I'd say that's about right mate, from a standing start it's not great but when on boost it picks up fairly rapidly and go's through 2nd-4th gear pretty swiftly

Japspeed Gloves
Ok, so did you buy them direct from Japspeed/ebay/forum member etc? the reason I ask is that the first pair of MECHANIXWEAR 'M-PACT' gloves that I ordered direct from the manufacturer were labelled size: large and though they fitted, they actually felt a bit too big and didn't offer the dexterity that I wanted (Nato size: I'm usually 9 and a half - 10) so I ordered a second pair but in size: medium (NATO size: 9) and they fit perfectly, maybe the sizes differ from range to range If you're usually a size: medium and the Japspeed gloves are a size: large (but actually the large fit perfectly), then Japspeed might be able to check if their product is labelled correctly or not and rectify it if there's a problem

Tell him in your best F&F American accent that 'it ain't how you stand by your car...it's how you drive your car that counts' and hint that a 20 year old car can pick up a lot of modifications over the years then confidently offer to race him for 'slips' :ninja: *Note: if yours isn't a TT and he actually takes you up on the challenge, phone in sick until after Christmas!

There are some strange folk out there that believe that it has already happened and that we're all in hyper suspension living a life of denial, a la' Matrix stylee... clearly a load of old *****cks but the number on tinterwebz' (granted mostly American virgin youth) that are adament that their staying in their bedrooms glued to their laptops playing COD is all part and parcel of the 'programme' is astonishing anyway I'm off down town for a brew now, I may even grab a bite to eat en route (flying is tiring work) and if needs be I'll have my daily scrap with the hundred or so super computer generated wrong 'ens and possibly even dodge a barrage of bullets or two just to pass the time........right where's my trench coat and shades??

why it`s so cheap
Well there's a blast from the past, that ebay link leads to quite a few other listed 300zx parts, including this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mask-M-A-S-K-Manta-Nissan-300zx-Car-complete-Vanessa-Warfield-figure-/160937658306?pt=UK_Toys_Creative_Educational_RL&hash=item2578a1c7c2 I always assumed that this toy was based on a Manta, it's only today that I realise it was based on a Z31 Just thought I'd share that with you

Thinking of starting my own company
Get hold of a copy of this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Finance-Guide-Small-Businesses/dp/0713682094/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355221661&sr=8-1 it doesn't matter if your running a company as a cash in hand sole trader, have 10 staff and turning over £100k a year or 2 strong and turning over more than a million a year....this book has a lot of information that is really useful I wouldn't have thought that cash flow is a major issue as a self employed sparky (though that's an assumption on my part) so therefore I would suggest that having a good accountant is key and the best couple of grand you'll spend....if for no other reason than the tax man's accountant is shit hot!

I've never seen this one before...OZ zed lap time
Never seen this one before, but some interesting time comparisons....not far off F2 pace (albeit not a VG in sight).... and faster than Craig Lowndes in his V8 Supercar!! Australian Touring Car Championship Oran Park Raceway has hosted a round of the Australian Touring Car Championship every year since 1971. 2008 was the final year of Oran Park in the V8 Supercar Championship Series. Allan Moffat and Mark Skaife are the most successful drivers at Oran Park in the ATCC, with six round wins each. The first ever race in 1971 saw Moffat in his Ford Boss 302 Mustang and Bob Jane driving his 427 cui powered Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1 go into the round on 31 and 34 points respectively with Moffat needing to either win or score more 3 or more points than Jane to claim the title. With both drivers starting from the front row a capacity crowd saw a titanic struggle with Jane claiming the win from Moffat and securing his 3rd ATCC championship. In a bizarre happening during the race, a spectator driving a road registered Valiant drove through an open gate and onto the circuit. The race went on and the driver managed to complete a few laps before exiting the circuit. [edit] Lap Records Current lap records for the Grand Prix circuit, italics indicate use of short circuit[7][8][9] As a comparison, in November 1974, Warwick Brown set the outright lap record on the then new "Grand Prix Circuit" with a 1:05.2 lap in a Lola T332-Chevrolet Formula 5000. Ten years later in August 1984, John Bowe set the outright lap record of 1:03.9 in a Ralt RT4-Ford (1.6L) Formula Mondial. When the circuit closed in 2010, the outright lap record stood at 1:01.6718 by Tim Leahey in a Reynard 92D-Holden (3.8L) Formula Holden set in July 2000.Note that in mid-1983 the circuit was changed slightly with the addition of a straight run after turn 3 heading to what was turn 5 and eliminating what was turn 4. This made turn 3, and subsequently the new turn 4, slightly faster and gave the Grand Prix Circuit 12 corners instead of 13. The result was an overall improvement in lap times of approximately 0.5 to 1 second per lap. bye bye all
I spent a few days driving a number of cars, including a Scooby, around the Alpine circuit at Millbrook back in '06 and it was absolutely in its element. Perfectly planted and handled beautifully, but out on the straights at the old Wethersfield runway it was ****ing boring. One good thing that I will say about the zed is that it keeps you on your toes and you know that the limit is not too far away, whereas the Scooby has a tendency to lull you into a false sense of security and lets you quite happily take it to the edge, however when you get to the edge it will literally kill you in a heart beat because you aren't prepared for it. One of the lads rolled one of the Scooby's on the Wethersfield course due to this exact characteristic (and possibly because he was a Ghurka who's only previous experience was riding flea ridden donkeys up the side of mountains...) Enjoy it mate

Z1 order ....Bitz here allready
Fedex are good to be fair I checked on progress of my parts last night and was informed that they were shipped yesterday at 5pm US time (UPS Worldwide Express) and that they have an estimated arrival date of Monday (12pm), quite a bit slower than I had hoped for but QC took a lot longer apparently. I suppose you don't have a choice really on who the company chooses to use, but Fedex have always been good from my experience with them

Another ebay one...
No biggy but just one of those other things that pisses me off about some ebay sellers and their funny ways You opt for the 'Buy it Now' option, pay the money and wait for the item to turn up.......two weeks later still no sign, so you start the whole 'Contact the Seller' process and send a polite enquiry along the lines of "Hi mate, could you confirm please that this item has been sent?" then low and behold the following day you receieve the reply "Yes this has been sent but Royal Mail are saying that there are delays because of the Christmas post, it will be with you shortly" Now my point is firstly, why not just come clean and say "My appologies, this one has been overlooked" rather than lie about it There is no increase in Christmas post just now that is reported by Royal Mail to be causing delays, and granted there is lilkely to be an increase (funny old thing as Christmas comes around the same time every year) but certainly not 2 weeks delay from November There have been delays due to weather and I can fully appreciate that and that would be a perfectly reasonable excuse but the fact that the seller feels safe to reassure that 'it will be with you shortly' tells me that his/her increase in Royal Mail confidence stems from the fact that he knows (1) that the item that he/she has forgotten about will be posted today and (2) that as there is no Royal Mail Christmas post backlog just yet, that the item is likely to arrive at its destination in the next few days anyway, I just thought I'd share that with you and now Mr Grumpy needs to go and get himself a brew and stop writing up shite whinging ebay type threads
