  1. Yeah you can get to them, I used a spanner for two of the bolts (drivers side if I remember correctly) but they are reachable, and yep that was with the engine still in
  2. Easy job mate as long as the bolts play nicely, much easier on ramps (unlike last time I did it....on my back, pissing down with rain, with the zed up on stands) use plenty of WD40 or if the bolts are being arses then a bit of heat will do the trick
  3. Cheers mate which model Z32 doesn't have ABS? and I'm assuming that it's not just as simple as dis-connecting the top row of pipes and connecting them up to the coresponding bottom row of pipes (thereby bypassing the actuator altogether) and plumbing in a 'T' piece for the hydraulic handbrake lines to tap into?
  4. Yeah mate, I was really hoping that wouldn't be the case but maybe it's the only option is it possible to turn off (ie. pull a fuse) to effectively disable the ABS as and when required?
  5. Maybe a little trial and error is in order?
  6. Nobody on DW can give me an answer to this so I was hoping that someone on here could give me a steer in the right direction I need to fit a hydraulic handbrake (in addition obviously to the stock handbrake) but was wondering how it plumbs in to the ABS (and indeed if it even can be used with ABS) This is on a SWB TT which has a very different ABS setup to that of the LWB TT, the unit looks different and there appear to be more lines running in and out (none are marked as to which is which) are we talking 'T' pieces or does the ABS need to be removed? any help would be much appreciated thanks
  7. I wonder if they've even considered the fact that by effectively banning modifications to vehicles, they'd be killing off a large part of the automotive industry which inevitably would result in yet more unemployment as thousands of companies went bust :confused1:

  9. Just following up on this I'm ready to commit and press the 'buy' button but wanted to treble check that I'm going for the right option if anybody has experience or prior knowledge of how the HKS triple plate, Ecedy triple plate and OS Giken triple plate compare then please comment *please, in all seriouslness, only comment if you know what you are talking about If I get this done now, it's looking good for the 26th at the Pod

  11. Pop onto DW mate and send 'Nicad7' a PM about his Camaro, his names Will and works with a mate of mine, Ted. I've met Will, he's a really nice guy but I dare say that he'd want to get back into the Jap car seen. Think of that V8 rumble.....
  12. How about a V8 camaro...one of the guys in Tidworth sold off his 350z and bought himself one. If you were interested I could ask him, maybe he'd let it go if the right deal was struck
  13. Unless the FD's had a recent rebuild I'd forget it you may (or may not) get bored of an NA Supra really quickly, though I understand that you want a nice sporty cruiser whilst the zed's being re-built so chasing big power figures isn't the idea assuming that it's a manual, if I was you I'd buy the GTS-t in the pic and then sell it to me in a twelve months time so I can skid the crap out of it
  14. I've had a warped disc and had to change my pads a few times....does that count?
  15. Yeah but that's because they're all out actually driving their machines mate, as opposed to sitting on their arses with a laptop telling each other how much they idolise their rusty old Datsun's, every single day :whistling:
  16. Yep, here you go chief
  17. That thread would be an interesting read mate
  18. I reckon you need one like this mate, 2 bar HKS boost gauge and for £50 delivered it's pretty cheap Genuine HKS, imported from Japan, it display's in bar (up to 2 bar), the internal screws look like they have a bit of surface rust on them but it still works 100%, no pipework or cable as for Psi, couldn't you fit a boost gauge that displays in Psi?
  19. So far I've pulled an engine and stripped it, but I'm weighing up whether to re-build it myself or take a recent recomendation on board and get a proven garage to take the re-build on and then maybe re-fit it myself
  20. Isn't the V6 Calibra lump only around 160 brake? was there a reason you didn't opt for the turbo lump (CE20LET or whatever it's called) have you got pics of the conversion, I always liked the Calibra, especially the turbo (204 brake wasn't it)?
  21. Did you carry that out on your own, and how long did it take?
  22. I was just wondering, how many engine re-builds the average zed owner has: (a) carried out by themselves or (b) had carried out by a garage/specialist and what the results were
  23. Just read through the link......for a second there I thought there was some drug dealing going on :whistling:
