you dont say what year m8? but if its 90-93 ish, then anything up to 2 grand would be a bargain, IF your only spending the above on the bodywork

cheers m8, i just reckon it makes more sense putting the big rad to cool the box, i wonder how many people who have done this mod using the oil cooler havnt cleaned it out properly, and had problems later with contanimated fluid?

excellent pictures m8:) the pipes from the Z radiator, does it matter when i fit them to the large rad, which way? ie does the fluid flow any particular way in the new cooler? ta and i think i may get one of these rads for my xjs, as the system is very similar, ie the auto box is cooled in the rad, although not heard any horror stories of that box

if i was selling it 5 grand lol but its deffo a buyers market at the moment, having said that, be very careful buying a Z on its cheapness, could end up costing you serious money, and a lot of grief, IF its as good as he says, then don't be put off by a few bends, lol im sure after my post your MORE confused

cheers m8;) sorry Craig David, for hijacking your thread, hopefully someone can answer your question, although i would say i would have thought the gearbox on a tt and an n/a would heat the same, and the engine wouldn't matter depends if you do long stints on the motorway, or use the z as a daily drive

one way or the other im gonna crack it m8, taking zyban at the moment but i think for other reasons this MIGHT not work, but gonna keep trying them, then see what other methods i try deffo making progress though as i'm only smoking 1 an hour, not a great reduction people might think, but DEFFO a BIG cutback on my part, i should know better lol, but better late than never

sadly m8, i doubt if you have much of a comeback private sale= buyer beware they could say it was fine when it left and the head gasket only went in your possesion, suprised you never removed the caps before deciding? would you have bought it if you had realised it had back pressure? even if you did have a case m8, getting the cash back would be expensive and time consuming, and thats to say they then pay you back, sorry to say m8, probabaly cheaper to fix the head gasket and hope thats all it is:( the other alternative and sounds the best, is to run the twats over and blame it on THAT car

ok further to the question above, can the bigger rad JUST be used for cooling the autobox? and if so does that mean you just take the pipes from the rad and fit them to the cooler??

sorry m8 i assumed you wanted to swap the oil coolers, i found this which MAY explain it better than i did http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=23705&highlight=replacing+oil+cooler i thought the upgrade rad was just a straight swop for the old rad, so am i right that the little rad thats there at the moment is not the auto box cooler but an oil cooler? id be very suss about putting a rad that had been used for oil and start using it for auto fluid??????

i think i could have bet a couple of million that someone would play with the words, but i'll bet the lot on the next bomb going off in the world is planted by a muslim group

you disconect the pipes going into the old old cooler, and attach them to the new one, the fluid in the old rad should NOT be put back in the new one, use new oil m8, best way is to put a bit of fluid in the new cooler, then once you done run the engine moving the lever through the gears, THEN check the level just be very careful you dont drive it with low fluid, and just as important DON'T overfill just re-read your post and im a bit confused "how i go about fitting the auto oil pipes onto the old cooler." or did you mean onto the new cooler?? if so follow above lol

made me think today, after receiveing yet another new style logbook so in our family we have received 4 new ones, and told to rip the old style one up, can anyone see the possibilities with all these "spare" log books knocking about?????????????????????
