  1. Mine will sit at 30mph in 5th reasonably happy and pull away OK, but its much happier in 4th at 30mph. Got to remember the gearing as well, quite tall.
  2. Nice buy! Out of interest, how does the performance seem to compare with the ZED?
  3. Your right and the best type of Zed was sent to the UK!
  4. Wonder why the UK spec 300zx was only available as a LWB TT?:whistling:
  5. Even better cars TBH are the ZT's. The ZT 190 can be bought nice and cheap. The ZT is basically a Rover 75, which is a reworked BMW 5 series. A very strong, solid car with plenty of kit and surprisingly good fun to drive. A much sportier drive than the R75 so don't let them put you off if you have been in one as the suspension, steering gearing etc etc as been tuned up.
  6. The ZS180 did get very good reviews at the time of release. A good car by all accounts. The K-series V6 unit does NOT suffer the same headgasket problems that the straight 4's did. Pretty reliable cars.
  7. Don't your inner treads wear pretty fast with that camber setting?
  8. Yes - normal. Mine kicks out loads of heat. Notice it just as I'm getting out the drivers door after a run and the viscous fan has fully engaged.
  9. So does that mean the later cars without the AIV system don't have these filters?

  11. Hi Guys, time to clean my Apexi induction filter. Whats the best way of doing this? Can I wash it or just use compressed air or something else? Cheers....:)
  12. Unless you really feel the need, the K-sport 330mm upgrade kit is already more than excellent and the 356mm kit will struggle to fit under some 18inch wheels, 19inch generally needed. I have recently fitted the K-sport 330mm kit, it is excellent. Check out my thread for some pics.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=140370 My only slight grievance and it is unavoidable, is that the Ferodo DS2500 pads make masses of brake dust really browning the wheels, but look at the pad size difference - you won't get this by keeping the stock calipers. Plus all the creaking my old calipers made has gone! HTH:)
  13. No, you're correct, the UK spec manual has a little more power, although the engines are the same, I believe its the exhaust restriction thats different. The slightly different cams and turbos are between the auto and manual engines due to the torque convertor characteristics on the auto. But the original question was refering to an import TT.
  14. The weight of a 2+2 is around 1650kg, whilst the 2 seater is around 1490kg. Standard power is around 280bhp for the manual, some say the auto is less with 265ish.
  15. ^^^^As above, the gauge often gets blamed, but after nearly 20years it is the sender unit that starts to fail. Changing it cures the problem and makes the gauge read fairly accurately. A new sender costs around £85, but is easy to change.
  16. Thats excellent. One to remember!:duffer:
  17. Absolutely perfect fit? Did you need to make any modifications at all, or did it drop straight in? Bargain either way!
  18. Hi Chaps, just after some information on Kakimoto exhaust systems for our cars. Is this manufacturer a good one? Are they supposed to be top dollar stuff? Any opinions welcome:)
  19. Yep, there are some cars that you shouldn't mess with! 300zx is in a different leaque to the GTIR, there will always be something to beat you, but what would you rather drive?
  20. Code 33 does indicate a faulty o2 sensor, sounds like yours is on its way out. My drivers side o2 sensor went faulty the other day (using datascan I could see it was dead and also recorded a code), then a few days later checked again and it was working - datascan told me I had started the car 17 times since without that fault. So yes only option is to swap them out for new ones, but 1st just check the connections to the loom and make sure they are clean and secure. Mr F of MJP on here does pattern replacement o2 sensors for £42 with the correct plug.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=140292 He will also source you the genuine ones if you want, but they are a lot more. Don't go 2nd hand. FYI code 33 is indicating a faulty LH sensor, code 53 is for RH sensor.
  21. *****cks, all that effort and beaten to it!
