  1. Spur of the moment, took my car for its MOT today. Knew it was due soon. Flew straight through, no advisory.....perfect emissions as well. Its always a worry at MOT time, but nice to hear of them going straight through, so just thought I'd share the good news! And as always the car generated a lot of conversion:)
  2. I found this to be the bonnet stoppers that adjust the bonnet fit at the front. I adjusted them so it made the bonnet flush and under tension if you like. This stopped the squeak for a while until the bonnet stoppers worked their way down again. Ultimately I replaced them with new ones (old ones proper flattened with age) and problem with squeaking has never come back. HTH
  3. Shortish distances with a max of 50mph....15miles - you should be OK. If very worried though, you should disconnect propshaft.
  4. Well its a Supercar to me and if 5th gear are showing it as a cheapskate alternative to a Lambo LP640.... Its a poor mans Supercar! LOL
  5. IMO - its a Supercar. More specifically a Japanese Supercar of the 90's. Just because the modern Supercar such as a Ferrari Enzo will trounce it (just!), this doesn't take the fact that its a 90's Japanese Supercar away. Just because Today's finest hot hatch will blow away a 50's Supercar, doesn't mean that it isn't a Supercar. Either way my car is Super!
  6. Sounds like the assessor was being a tit!
  7. I suffered from Goose honk when I had 0.8mm tips fitted, but found this was considered to small making too much boost so removed and fitted 1mm tips. Goose honk disappeared with them. point being, you could try reducing the boost slightly... Just a thought:)
  8. I've got this clutch as well, my car is running mods and I am not having any problems.
  9. I mean Absolutely!...:o
  10. I used a UK gearbox for my manual conversion which had the cooler pipes on the side. In my case I removed the pipes and blanked the holes with appropriate bolts and washers. I haven't had any problems with this. As for the neutral switch - I am led to believe it is not needed, although you need to know that your timing will read 25 on Consult/Datascan even though it is (or should be) 15 when checked with a timing gun. I am running my car without the neutral switch wired and all is fine....
  11. Just had a look at your profile and gallery..... Sell a kidney instead! Worth 5k of anyone's money minimum, but ultimately its what people are prepared to pay. Do your best to keep it....good luck either way.
  12. No, mine is nothing like that. Its black and looks OEM with a proper OEM plug and loom.
  13. They are unlikely to touch the bonnet, I had a good scratch on mine, tried a few places. Had to get entire bonnet re done, but my paint was very fresh so it was purely just the bonnet that needed doing again without blending into the rest.
  14. Yes, that's probably it then. I had my front marker removed at the time of respray. Cheers. I'll remove it completely now.
  15. I can't post up a picture ATM, but the box is probably the size of a cig packet and lives under the panel above your knees below the steering shroud. Still got it disconnected and still no obvious effects.... Anyone else?
  16. Hi Guys, I have found a small rectangular electronic box under the steering wheel behind the panel above your knees. I have unplugged it and there is no apparent difference with anything and I'm just wondering what it is and its purpose? It seems to be OEM. My car is a Jspec auto TT (93), I thought it might be traffic related? Any ideas? Cheers!....
  17. Looks & sounds very good! Get it bought! - like he states, if you aren't happy with it on inspection, i.e. its not as described, you can walk away.
  18. Think that's pretty good really.
  19. At the end of the day, I' sure here, we'd all agree. The Zed rocks!
  20. Agree completely, thats why I said the 2 cars should be tested back to back by an unbiased racing driver....the Stig! That would highlight the fastest car. Little off topic now, but good discussion all the same!
  21. Have a look at Momo pedals, I quite like the look of the Stealth and Stealth Basic ones. http://www.momo-uk.co.uk/gallery/tuning/pedals/momo%20pedals.htm
  22. My car is going in for Conversion on Saturday, got loads of new bits together including a brand new OEM gear knob $65 from CZP delivered in a week. Much cheaper than the UK. Can't wait:hyper:
  23. "standard 300, maybe...." There is no maybe! A 997 911 Turbo would completely destroy a Standard 300zx TT. And as nice as your car is, I doubt it can match the best Porsche can offer...a £100k car with bang up to date technology, 500bhp & 500Ib/ft torque. My money would be on the Porker..... Don't get me wrong though, I love the ZX. Ah well, we can talk about it all day long, give Top Gear a shout. See if the Stig can test the 2 back to back round the track! Until then we will have to agree to disagree.:duffer:
  24. I really love my 300zx bud, but a 2 year old 911 Turbo....eat it? Not sure about that! A 2006/7 has close to 500bhp stock, hits 60 in 3.6 & 100 in under 9 seconds....Not to mention will leave you for dead round the bends. And really I'm sure you know it.
