  1. No, they still pay out, but you might be able to buy it back, they will only scrap it!
  2. BTW, how does the performance of the W12 compare with a HEALTHY Zed TT??
  3. Just becareful mate, don't blow it all on cars, they are absolutely no investment. Keep yourself financially secure. Sorry about your loss.
  4. As above really, I'm looking to do this soon and wondered are you supposed to put anything on the threads or use a washer when fitting the new one. I do know that the body of the sender is actually the earth connection though as there is only 1 wire to the sender. Cheers:)
  5. You should first try to buy it back, won't cost much. You could then sell the bits yourself and get good money back for such things as the 99 spec rears etc.
  6. If its missing on more than one cylinders it might be a failing PTU, only way to prove that would be to borrow a good spare. If its just missing on one, then look at the coil packs etc, disconnect one at a time to try and isolate the problem.
  7. I got that wrong as well....it was Douglas200 looking for 99spec! I'll shut up now.....:(
  8. Yes you're right, I got my words wrong, but meant the 99 spec lights will NOT fit the early bumper as I'd noticed BeerMonster had put out a wanted in the traders section for 99spec corners & thought he might of assumed that the only difference was the clear part. Trying to help:)
  9. Are you saying the 99 spec corners will fit the early bumper - without modification? http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_24_55&products_id=30
  10. Try disconnecting 1 coil pack at a time to see if you can isolate it to one cylinder then take it from there. It could be a coil pack that is breaking down at anything more than fast idle cos obviously its working harder. Failing that could you borrow a good used PTU to rule that out....
  11. Note, these are NOT 99spec indicators which will NOT fit the early type bumper.
  12. My clear corners are Nismo spec OEM units, got from the US (Z1) No you don't have to de-tango these - they are clear, but not crystal type. Cost $126 http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=23

  14. 300zx specialist - Phil at Blackmoor service station,Manchester - Have used him a couple of times & travel over 90 miles to do so. The garage is a bog standard place, nothing fancy, but Phil has worked on these cars for years and even owned one. He recently did my auto/manual conversion, perfect job & the usual courtesy call afterward to check all is OK. Really decent guy, can't recommend him enough.
  15. Absolute Genius! Love it!:)
  16. Also check your brake booster, sounds odd I know, but I had been living with a failing unit for 2 years and it had a little leak. Now under boost it didn't make any difference as there is a 1 way valve between booster and balance bar, but at idle a leaking booster is a vacuum leak. Improved my brakes a great deal as well!
  17. I consider my car to be in great running condition, but I have this very slight vibration at idle as well and my gearbox mount is new. Since I've had the manual conversion done and the neutral switch as not been utilised, the car ticks over at ~850ish (ecu timing at 25). It idles much smoother now. Regarding your starting - it could be the warnings of a failing PTU. Mine just packed up 2 weeks ago & I have replaced it with a revised gen2 PTU. I am not aware of any vacuum leaks, but perhaps a very small one might cause little vibrations.
  18. Take a corner unit with you and find a bulb holder to fit on site.
  19. Is this hole the same as the indicator hole? -Can you put the indicator bulb holder straight in that section? If so you just need to ring up a breaker and get a pair of indicator bulb holders from a knackered pair of corners. Should only cost a few quid. My clear corners were from the USA (Z1), but were clearly marked JDM spec and my original orange Jap spec corners also had the extra bulb holder fitted. Series 2 car.
  20. I have done this, but my clear corners are genuine OEM units from Z1, so they have a free bulb holder available in a seperate section. These bulbs were corner lights that lit up solid when the indicators are on (a Jap spec feature), but I have used them for my sidelights. I cut the wires, soldered, heat shrinked & wrapped the new connections. I also fitted 21w bulbs to them, I know, should be 5w, but it makes a huge difference and nobody has flashed or pull me & it passed its MOT. Looks much better for some reason. Gives the car a wider stance at night & looks more modern.
  21. Check the 10A fuse in the drivers footwell (bottom row far fuse) if you haven't already. But you would probably notice the clock and interior light not working as well if it was just a fuse. You never know though.....
  22. Agree with this 100%, probably even more costly to be right.
