Those of you with X pipe exhaust systems. Restrictive?
Are there any problems with an exhaust not having any mixer pipes - like the Mongoose system? Can this be harmful to the engine in any way? A mechanic I was talking to said it can burn out the valves? Or is this something the balance bar on the car is for? I'm clueless on this one:(

Opinions wanted please
For me I'd go 99 spec rear spoiler and Jap spec rear bumper. And I'd keep the early front bumper.

Is there a way to stop rust forming on discs?
Garage it when not in use and don't drive it in bad weather....works for me!

New exhaust - white smoke?
After another run today, I can see that the smoke is coming out of the passenger side exhaust. It is more white than blue smoke, don't know how it smells, but it stinks. Yep, I'm sure you guys are right. I need a new tub! Bummer.:cursing:

New exhaust - white smoke?
Thanks Murt. Will give it more time & use. The smoke is kinda white and blue! But before the change my car was 100% OK. Its not like I had a standard exhaust neither, it was a bean tin twin exit, but it had a mixer box in the middle where as this Mongoose doesn't. Car still drives really well and pulls like a train and prior to the exhaust swap used absolutely no oil or water. Will have to keep an eye on these now.

New exhaust - white smoke?
What you reckon then Murt, give it more time to burn off?? Was yours a new exhaust that caused this?

New exhaust - white smoke?
Just wondering, why doesn't it smoke when on the move and under load?

Z's dead...

New exhaust - white smoke?
Just to update this, I've done around 50miles in it this afternoon. The car is completely smoke free running around and even in traffic, but when I got home and let it idle, within around 3mins it was smoking again. Very smelly and white, but maybe not quite as bad as just after it was fitted. I'm concerned! :(

New exhaust - white smoke?
Hi Guys, just fitted my 6x4 Mongoose cat back this morning and now its smoking like mad at tickover. The smoke is like a white fog and stinks! I'm hoping it just something burning off the exhaust and it will clear. On the move its not visible. I've only done about 3 miles in it since.... Any comment guys? cheers.

Engine weight ?
Without ancils and plenum it will obviously weigh a good deal less. If its a complete engine though - heavy!! I've just done a quick search for you - and there are members that have lifted the engine between 2 people from vans to garage floors so it can be done. But one hurt his back.:excl:

Engine weight ?
I seem to remember someone says it was around 250kg.... in which case 2 adults might seriously hurt their backs - be careful Hopefully someone else will come along and confirm or correct me.

New style injector adapter....
Looks good to me. I'd go for the 550 injectors. Off the shelve maps available for that size. Very good price.

Broken caliper mount - welded repair?
The Ebay seller has agreed to give me a refund, its all going through Paypal tho & I'll be sending them back via recorded delivery. Will keep you posted..... Sumshiftguy, I'm not too sure how to take your comment. I am no freeloader! I have also provided plenty of help myself on this forum, scan my posts and see. Subscription is optional - you get other facilities that I do not for your £20 and that is your choice to pay for them. I have been a member of other car forums before owning the Nissan and none have had any subcription policy.

Broken caliper mount - welded repair?
Smithy, I'd already thought this! Wondered if this was related to the Forum sale that fell thru on grounds of mis-discription. Obviously didn't realise in time! Hopefully Paypal can force the issue.

Broken caliper mount - welded repair?
Just an update on this, my seller has just sent his 1st reply to my request for a refund..... "Sorry for the delay. These are as I bought them for a project but do to health reasons I can no longer proceed. I was not aware that one had been welded, having spoke to the person who I got them off it was professional welded by an engineering company and has been on his car without any problems. I have also been in the car with them on, so they should be no issues." Any further thoughts Chaps?

Anyone here know Redbaron personally??
Anyone know if this chap is from Blackpool? I only ask because I've just bought a pair of Brembos from Ebay (one of the calipers has been weld repaired and I want a refund) Might be completely unrelated, but I know he was selling a set of Brembos on here and that went wrong.... Cheers.
