  2. The "Unit under bonnet with the 3 outlets/inlets" is the valve body. What do you mean by "solinoid"? From the valve body have you traced and checked for continuity the red (+ve) and black (gnd) wires back to where they have been spliced into the cars ignition +ve loom and ground point? Do you have 12v on the red wire with the ignition on? -Andrew
  3. Firstly, do you have the installation manual for the EVC 1? http://www.hks-power.co.jp/usa/faq/dd/pdf1739.pdf This picture shows the +ve and ground leads coming from the valve body loom: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qj9aCPp-ta4/UK4wdPlJjlI/AAAAAAAADQ4/qNuBq3WDcqs/s640/HKSEVC1+4.jpg and the Japanese installation sheet shows the same: http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w81/jdmprov/evc1-1.jpg -Andrew
  4. Historically opinion in the US was indeed single MAF was OK up to 500hp or thereabouts. Jim Selin's work with his dual maf and translator changed that view and now folks in the US now recognise the benefits of seperating the intakes. -Andrew
  5. Just for completeness, on my install valve body port (2) goes to these points on both sides: -Andrew
  6. This is my setup for an HKS EVC 4 valve body hose connections. Blue hoses are T pieced and run then to both sides, black hose runs to plenum: * Don't forget to install the inline filters. and single plenum connection: -Andrew

  15. Patterns: RHD pattern kicks up on the left and LHD kicks up on the right. -Andrew
  16. This is the marking on the O/S headlight of my UK Z: Assuming you can get some power to low beam bulbs then the beam pattern with tell you which is which: RHD pattern kicks up on the left and LHD kicks up on the right. -Andrew
  17. PAYE is changing in April to this system: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rti/index.htm All to do with the new Universal Credit. -Andrew
  18. This is the experience of Greg Dupree with stainless and inconel manifolds: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2347243/INfo.html With the Z32 the problem of cracking is made worse by the weight of the turbos hanging off the manifolds. SZ stopped selling inconel manifolds and went with cast iron from Mike Smith. -Andrew
  19. Assuming they are KYB AGX shocks: then here are the instructions: -Andrew
  20. I use Redline 75W90 Differential Oil and Redline MT-90 Gearbox Oil. Gearbox became noticeably smoother after about 1000 mile run in. -Andrew

  22. Racelogic traction control (RLTC) uses ABS sensors from all four wheels. The RLTC intercepts each injector signal and controls them individually to achieve traction control. I can't comment on the Emerald ECU setup but the OEM ECU controls the injectors with common permanent +12v to the injectors and switching to earth (0v) for each injector. Here is the generic install guide from Racelogic themselves: http://www.racelogic.co.uk/images/stories/other-prod/Traction%20Control%20Manual%20v3_2.pdf and for the Z32: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/tc/tc.html -Andrew
  23. Merry Christmas to you. Love the little Datsun Roadster! Reims is on the way to the south of France for us, so next time we drive the Z we could visit. -Andrew
  24. These are the revised ones: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_7&products_id=1911 Their announcement: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2488772/Z1-Motorsports-58mm-CNC-Throttle-Bodies-V2-now-available.html First versions were poorly made with butterfly sealing and shaft blow by amongst other manufacturing defects. Lots of complaints. Just let CZP know that you are aware of the issue. Z1 didn't replace the first versions shipped to customers, so there may be some still around with distributors. -Andrew
  25. If you are buying Z1 throttle bodies then make sure CZP send you the second generation versions. -Andrew
