Welding Compromise.... for now!
How far beyond the holes does the rusted metal extend? Assuming your are still going cut back to good metal and replace with welded in new sections in the Spring, then you could as a temporary measure cover with galvanised sheet metal and pop rivet in place. Then apply waxoyl/dinitrol type products to seal and protect over winter.

You mean these holes on each side? If so, they have a rubber blanking grommet fitted from the factory.

Autoweek - Steve Millen's IMSA 300ZX and the Dream Season of 1994
Nice article of the Steve Millan's IMSA 300ZX 1994 racing season recently published in Autoweek. http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/steve-millens-imsa-300zx-and-his-dream-season-1994 The Watkins Glen crash described in the article involving Millan's 300ZX, his teammate O'Connell's 300ZX and another car is recorded here. You can draw your own conclusions as to their luck and the race organisation. [video=youtube_share;qf_8NjIIp4Q]

help with this
The bracket which fixes to the door pillar is held in place by screws to another bracket which is itself pop riveted to the door card. The pop rivit heads are under the door card vinyl skin, so would be more difficult to deal with.

Pre '94 models have two bleed nipples on the ABS unit. Make sure you follow bleed order and procedure as per FSM: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/br/005.gif The bleed nipples are next to pipes marked FR, FL (front pair) and B (back). - PowerZed forged engine rebuild
