Merc Question : Dashboard LEDs
Hi, Hoping that someone on this forum will be able to answer my question as the Merc forums are not quite up to scratch! I currently have a 2000 (W) E-Class and wondered how easy it was to change the current white dash illumination to blue. 1. Is it possible? 2. How difficult is it? 3. What bulbs/LEDs would be required? 4. Any downsides? Thanks.

Other car forums.....
This forum is easily the best. The people are friendly, it's very personable and the quality of information is outstanding. It really is like being part of a family. Long may it prosper! [Paul C - I'll be posting a few Merc questions shortly!!!] :-)

Does ebay suck or what???
e-bay is out of control and taking the piss. We need some quality competition soon to sort them out. They're in the same basket as wheel clampers; thieves!

Lcd t.v. Or plasma t.v.?
This is one of the hottest debates going but I would say plasma for screens over 40". Practically, LCD is a lot lighter, but I believe Plasma performs better. Go for Panasonic. I believe LED is the best however, but rather expensive at the moment.

Might be ordering a new car this time next year. Just wondering what's out there.
Sorry! Didn't notice when the original thread started!!!

I suppose an Infiniti is too expensive?

UK cleanest UK zed update
Original wheels please. They still look the best. Lovely car though!

doh! 85 in a 50
I think there is speeding and then there's speeding. Doing 90 on the motorway (assuming little or no traffic) is a completely different scenario to doing 50 in a built-up area.

Crazycameras.co.uk
Thanks for the warning. I considered them once but some of the prices were too good to be true, which made me suspicious. Best to stick to Amazon or pixmania.

Oh No! It's spreading...
Hi guys, Need your help/advice on a matter concerning my wife's Micra, one of my Z's siblings. As you can see from the photos, there is a patch on the roof of the car which has been slowly growing over the last few months. Effectively, it looks like the lacquer is gradually peeling away, revealing the base paint underneath. What I would really like to know is why this is happening, and how it can be stopped, and then dealt with. The strange this is that the rest of the car is in mint condition and looks virtually brand-new (as you can see from the other photos). Any ideas? Painted roof bars
Thanks for the photos guys. Definitely makes the car look more modern. What type of paint is best for this?

Painted roof bars
Some photos of moded cars would be great.

Painted roof bars
A while ago, there were a number of posts suggesting that some of you were going to paint the sections that go across the roof (either side of the glass panels) glossy black. Did anyone actually do this and do you have photos of what the car looks like with these painted black, both with the panels in and out?

Wheel Spacers

Wheel Spacers
Hi guys, I'm trying not to be lazy and have searched the site, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Are there any threads that can give the low-down on wheel spacers? I know very little about them but do know that I would like both my front and rear wheels to move out just that little bit. I suppose what I would like to know is: - what are they? - how are they fitted? - what kind of sizes can you get? - what are the pros and cons? - do they wear out and how often? - where can I get them from? The questions may sound abit simple, but any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Such a long 3 weeks
After almost 3 weeks of standing still (loads of snow before and after Christmas), finally drove the Z today. How I missed it and the rain, for once, was very welcome. I have to admire my wife's N-reg Micra though; performed brilliantly in terrible conditions and as is the case with Nissans and especially Micras, reliable and dependable beyond belief. Every home should have one (alongside your Z!).

New Baby.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Before I get distracted/diverted, thought I'd wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Also, be careful as I think the next week will also be fun weather wise; don't trash your Z! I bought my first Z end June this year and your support and help has been fantastic. This is definitely the best forum out there (for all areas) and it's always good to see the banter, helpful advice and of course humour. Here's to a great 2010.

HIDs - More advice required please
Finally, both lights now seem to be working OK. After weeks of investigation and experiments, it seems that both of the original bulbs were faulty. Only upon swapping both did the system settle down and for the last week, all has been OK. Strange, very strange, but true. Sincere thanks to Dan of DTA for his help, advice and support. We spoke every other day and he was a delight to deal with, and for that reason alone, I would recommend him highly.
