  1. I've got that over carpet in the boot, always wondered why I had 2, the top one has the 300zx logo on it...
  2. I live next to a stream/crook type thing, they are everywhere, have had a good few in my house too, several I have shot in the head with an air rifle, and when I was re-boarding my kitchen ceiling not so long back, a humongous corpse fell out of the ceiling and hit me in the face, shortly followed by another one, (which I put under the windscreen wipers of my mates civic type r, and he's shit scared of rats, haha). That's the problem with decking, they love it under there. I cemented a hole in my wall up once, and the mortar had pretty much gone off completely, but one of the buggers still somehow chewed right through it and got back in. I get mice too, but I catch them in humane traps and let them go. Also, one of the ones I shot, it's stomach was writhing with babies inside, got it just in time.
  3. Mine did, three air horns, and have had three air horns on every car I have owned, never been mentioned....

  5. Not compressor on the drivers side, the horn, just took the feed from it, there's a horn either side. Yeah, your normal air horn package will come with a compressor with just one outlet that you split into 2 or 3 or however many horns you get in the set, yep in different sizes, but the kit i got for free had five different sizes to play dixieland, dukes of hazard stylee, and the compressor has a spinning disc in it which opens the ports to each horn in sequence to play the tune, i removed all that crap and had just one outlet split to three horns, only did this as it was brand new and free, and the horns and compressor i had been using for years were a bit duff. Not usually a relay, just a live and a ground, the fuse you uprate is the one in the fusebox.
  6. Cheers, haven't prepped it yet, the only surface rust is the battery tray and under the clutch master cylinder where someone has spilt brake fluid in the past and it's bubbled the paint, and little bits where some seam sealant has lifted, but will I be re-seam sealing the whole bay, and neater than factory, I'll see how much bare metal there will be, and throw some pics up, cheers guys. It's not metalic, just a solid colour, have sprayed cars before, but no bare metal etc.
  7. After it is fully degreased, any traces of surface rust, scratches etc. removed, there will be parts with bare metal, what is the best primer to use on a combination of paint and bare metal? I'm also restoring a lambretta, so this will help with that too if anyone can recommend anything? Cheers, Tudor.
  8. All engines should be like that! As regards the horn, I took a feed for the compressor from the drivers side horn, just piggy-backed the live, made a bracket and mounted them under the nose panel, pointing down so no water gets in, they fit a treat, you'll have to put a bigger fuse in though, as the compressor will likely pop it as it pulls more juice. I got mine for free, a spack mate of mine bought some tune playing dixieland ones for his punto, realised he was a gay, so I used three of them and modified the compressor to just one outlet. Although I have had them on every one of my cars as I do a lot of motorway miles, and have needed them many times.
  9. I've also got the stock horns, roadrunner 'meep meep' stylee, but also got 3 air horns as well, small, medium, and and a big chief, which take a split second for the compressor to kick in, so if it's friendly 'Meep meep, Morning Vicar!', on the way to the shops, just a couple of quick taps on the horn, but if it's a 'Get the fook out of my way damn Vicar!' I hold my hand on it and make people poo. Also great on the motorway if a big lorry or truck pulls out on you, they ain't gonna hear little toy town horns, but blast your air horns and they will.
  10. When I first got my car, I fitted an aftermarket belt with no marks at all, took some serious brain work and big b0ll0cks when I started it up, but got it perfect, so it can be done if you are confident, but don't bother and just get an OEM belt.
  11. Yep, UK and Jap are different lengths as different sized water pump pulleys.
  12. If you go on their ebay shop and look at nissan clips, there's plenty I'll be buying whilst spraying my engine bay, gonna replace the lot... :thumbup1:
  13. Thems the ones. Found anywhere in UK with them? - - - Updated - - - :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=releasable+cable+strap
  14. Getting close...... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRO-POWER-SH160PT-CABLE-TIES-PUSH-MOUNT-155-X-3-60MM-PACK-OF-100-/130696961290?pt=UK_Computing_Cable_Ties_Organisers&hash=item1e6e255d0a&_uhb=1 - - - Updated - - - Or just the clip in base and use a normal cable tie.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BASE-CABLE-TIE-MOUNT-BLIND-PK40-Part-FTH-15-01-Pack-of-40-/261089801408?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item3cca2a34c0&_uhb=1
  15. I know exactly what you mean, need some my self, will try and find some...
  16. online manual is here pal : http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi And I think this link will work, but there's 2 different gearbox types, apparently, mine's been a manual for ages, so unsure about that, and it doesn't tell you the size/thread, but someone should easy be able to tell you that, infact, I know they are bog standard M10 for a start, so that's probably 1mm pitch, hope it helps.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/at/097.gif
  17. My wheels are pretty much identical, but all silver, shortly to be refurbed the same as yours :) Look great mate.
  18. Left hand drive? If so, you (might find, not sure if the bits are on the opposite side on LHD seats, never looked) that the drivers seat has the lumber adjust hole on the wrong side, and also will be missing/have an extra hole for the handle to recline the seat... (if 2+2). Possibly same kind of thing as using a passenger seat cover for a drivers seat (ish)?
  19. That's a kind offer from your missus mate. :)
  20. just stick your di....git in it, or thumb.
  21. Probably get a new potato in their, made for the job..... Something like this I got, spot on, about a quid each from't plumbers merchants, I bought different sizes as I didn't have the manifold with me...... http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=iron+radiator+end&_sacat=0&_odkw=radiator+end&_osacat=0&_from=R40 Whilst I've got my engine out, I might make a few kits up, might as well, people always asking for them, with the plenum blanks made out of 3mm ally.
  22. Go to a half decent plumbing shop, you can get a cast iron one with the right thread for pence mate, that's what I did, bang on. Think they are used for blanking the ends of some radiators.
  23. Mine does give out a lot of condomsation in winter too, I did read that the more 'naturally' formed condomsation produced during combustion, the more efficient it is running, think it was said by one of the zed gurus on here. And yep, I know it's spelt condensation, I'm just childish :)
  24. A '94 UK isn't too early, but do check the front and especially rear sills for corrosion. As said above, a lot of road/gearbox noise can come into the cabin if the rubbers under the shifter have worked there way free or are damaged, usually in 2nd and 4th i think, as this pulls the rubber away. The whirring/scraping noise could be a duff bearing in a pulley/pump/alternator, or many other things :) Ask any question you like on here and you will get a cracking answer, also at the end of my waffling I'll give you a link to the online service manual, you'll need it, as taking one of these to bits is, well I wouldn't say any harder than any other car, just different, any problems, post some pictures up on here and videos of noises etc. and you will get the best help. Also, buying from here is the best place, top people/knowledgeable enthusiasts, although not all the parts you need are for sale at the time you need them, but bung an ad up in the wanted section. Link to online manual : http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi A quick google search and you should be able to find a downloadable version matey... Congrats on the purchase, welcome, and try not to get too bitten by the zed bug, or it'll never end haha :)
