Plumbing in an oil catch tank
Anyone done it or got any Tech specs at all to what I need for the old zedster. I know the tank has to be double the volume of the piping to it excluding the baffles, but will I need to T both breathers into one line or will I have to have a dual feed tank.???? My PVC's are full of oil again and smoking for Britian everytime I've been sat on the motorway at about 3000 to 3500 rpm Then come off and drive round town it smokes like a t@wt. If I use A roads and nail it it don't smoke when i then go into town.

adjustable upper and lower arms
Sounds more like you need ajustable tie rods and need your toe taking in a minute or two. Paul does them as well.

Handling help PLEASE
Yep I agree It is very foolhardy to use second hand suspension or steering parts. Is it really worth risking you life for. You mentioned that the car drove back well and progressively got worse. Thats because the wheels and suspension arms have to come off the replace them. Then (and even more so with tired pre used springs etc) they all have to settle. Which may take 50 miles. Then the aliement people should record the settled settings and ajust buy the required number of minutes so as to thearetically get it correct. Then it needs a good long drive and return for checking and final ajustments. sorry but if you really want it to handle it's the only way.

Traction control is standard LOL
It has got Traction Control if it has racelogic (which the picture would seem to confirm) so the guy proberbly bought the car with it fitted and thus asumes it to be OEM. I would also think that if its previous owner has fitted Racelogic they may well have done other mods that deemed it nessesary. So 380 bhp at the Fly is quite modest upgrades.

did they ever make.......
Ifyou can find a 1/32 scale model you'll be able to use the body to mount on the scalextric's runing gear. Airfix, Revel and monogram did a range of car kits in this scale. As a kig I have a Triumph Hearald Vitese and a HE Viva scalextric cars using this very technic.

Captured Sailors
Funny how people look at the past and say ahh Maggy would have sorted it. The Way I remember it was that Mrs Thatcher was flagging in the poles big style and Priminister Elect Mr Kinock was just waiting for polling day. The Govenor of the Falklands and the Navy where telling Mrs Thatchers government that the Argies where making ready for an invasion. They requested that a carrier battle group be sent to patrol the waters. Which would make it impossible for the Argies to mount any invasion attempt. This would have saved thousands (ie nearly 3000 on the General Belgrano) of lives. 150 helicopters loads of ships and thousands of sheep. I would not have hailed Mrs Thatcher to the status many seem to like to give her credance for and most certainly would have ment her not seeing a second term of office. + We would still have a minning industry, Steel industry, Ship building industry, an armed forces 3 times the size of todays armed forces. The massive boom in public sector workers would not have taken place and therefore would not need us all to be taxed to the hilt to pay for all their pensions. etc. The South East of Britain wouldn't have diapeared under concrete, The North of England would still have jobs instead of large areas of industrial waste land, Scotland would still be under a UK parliment and not demanding independance, the Royal Mail would still belong to the crown and be the best postal service in the world, the water board would still be National and not belong to the french, the electricety board and british rail would also be National. They used to invest more into the inferestructure and not in share holders producing better quality services at cheeper prices etc and i could goo on and on. Mrs thatcher will be seen by History as the Great Vandal of Great Britain reducing it to 4 lesser countries of little worth. Where it's native people were forced to leave by the imigrent explosion. Unfortunately Mr Blair has continued Mrs Thatchers work and is of the same mould

Exhaust advice.
This is a fantastic buy. If I hadn't spent £1000 on a cutom built system of a similar spec I'd be having one.

Subframe swap?
You need complete prop as the NA is a lighter gauge and only 4 stud. Combining the two is going to make it unbalanced.
-
Subframe swap?
Yep but the TT diff is bigger than the NA diff and the TT prop is 6 stud where as the NA prop in 4 stud. So only a NA diff fits a NA subframe and Visa versa. Benefits are, it makes your car accelerate quicker, but your top speed will max out at 150mph. You get rid off all the HICAS rubbish, it reduces weight, Improves handling and gives you more camber ajustment without aftermarket rear camber arms. Down side is that the NA diff and prop are only rated to about 400 bhp. Thats what stopped me doing it. However THE OS Giken LSD Diff cluster (about £250) will enable it to handle around 800bhp and single piece props for high power are readily available in the States for around $300. so the NA setup doesn't limit your potential power.

smokers - non smokers
Used to smoke. Started when I was about 10 thinking I was hard like all the other silly street urchings I grew up with. I actually really enjoyed smoking and was always fit and active so never thought anything about it. Then about 4 years ago playing footbal with the kids nearly killed me. I thought my lungs were going to burst. So I decided to stop and can't say I've missed it.

Subframe swap?
He was just talking about the time to swap the subfame once he has one all rebushed. I've watch a few being rebushed and the Air saw and blow torch make short shrift of getting the old bushes out. Oh and a 25 ton press helps with the new ones.

Subframe swap?
Ignor me I'm dyslexic and I sometimes just invent want I read. The answer is Yes TT LWB to TT SWB and vice versa. :mac1:
-
Subframe swap?
I reckon it would take about 3+ hours with a ramp Chris and it would be a real ball ache to do on the drive.
-
Subframe swap?
Yes if you want to change the diff, Prop and drive shafts to the NA set up which is a good mod for a mildly tuned Z. Otherwize no.

Shes At It Again
My Good lady wrote her Celica TRD off just before Christmas and she has nicked my C70 T5 GT until we sort her out with another car. Got in it on Saturday and it sounded like a bent drive shaft. Told her not to drive it and use the pickup. No she carried on driving it and has totalled the gearbox. Going to cost £1000 to replace it. + repace the bent drive shaft. + she's bashed the front bumper causing a split, a broken fog and wrecked the paint. + the Head unit has a 6 CD cartridge in it and she's fooked the mechanisum so it's wedged open. Second hand replacement £350 New from Volvo £1400. Pi55ed off is an understatement.
