  2. I bleieve its some sort of breather for the pipes, catches misted oil?
  3. Jay replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - Non 300ZX
I used to use RO but then found out it removes absolutely every protein from the water, so you have to use an RO additive to put them back in??? I forget what its called but its something like RO+. is that right? switched from RO (was using for about year), back to tapwater with tapsafe conditioner, and not lost a single fish since.
  4. Yep - leave it as is - look sound
  5. Is it a good idea to drive with the lights on (Im about to fit HIDs and wonder wether it will damage them being on all the time?) I leave them on so car stands out more - not that it should need to People just dont seem to see me coming and pull out on me - happened lots - especially in my biking days too (I think thats where leaving headlights comes on from).
  6. Everytime you turn lights on the dashboard clock and climate control displaydim down. I dont want this to happen. I cut the green wire with the white stripe on the clock and it is now fine - that doesnt dim down. But the same colour wire going to the climate control doesnt do the same. Anyone know which wire I need to cut?
  7. no worries pete, I got some utilities I can email you later on if you like drop me a private msg or email matey. one utility I have is brilliant at finding deleted/lost files and its only email size :)
  8. as above Pete, set hdd as a master and put it on the secondary channel. If not - Ill do ya a free recovery if you send me the drive - Ill bang it all on CD/DVD for ya. then return the drive.
  9. Anyone got a pic of Dannys (DTA) chromed clock rings on a set of white dials. Just want to see what they look like before I commit to buy :) Cheers
  10. I dont think its the switch - I posted a while ago about this. underneath the gearbox I had 2 connectors dangling in the road. one had one end of a connector on and a bit of wire. I dont know if one has come away from the switch on the gearbox or what? but the other needs a cable going somewhere? Cheers
  11. After having a new clutch fitted - somebody had not put the cable back in correctly near the gearbox. As i found out by picking up half a ripped wire that had been dragging on the ground. Now, I have no reversing lights - Any idea what I need to wire to where? I think they come on for half a second as you select reverse but then immediately go off. Cheers
  12. network cable would work if its a crossover - failing that you need a little hub.
  13. good enought for me WHAT was I thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :slap: :slap: :slap: :slap:
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-x-DRAGON-CAR-SEATS-COVERS-FRONT-REAR-PROTECTORS_W0QQitemZ7992426614QQcategoryZ30172QQcmdZViewItem Im thinking (and ONLY thinking) of getting these and just piutting the 2 front covers on - not on the rear seats). My leather seats have cracked badly and thought these may tidy it up BUT I dont wanna look tacky - whaddya think?
  15. Oh, so removing the needles was a bad idea. . . .
  16. Im in the middle of fitting indiglo dials. so far so good apart from the needles. do these just pull off - I dont wanna break them????? Ive pulled a bit but when the temp needle came out it came out with the pin attached still? Ive pushed it back in - is this is - all I have to do is pull on needles?? ALSO . . . . Do i remove the main bulbs when fitting indiglo dials?? Do I put the indiglo dial leads through the holes where the bulbs used to be? Thanks
  17. lol, no - I checked but must have missed it - I worked it all out now though - pretty much done what you have already said :) I went one step further and cut round the retainer ring that hold the plastic slide contact in place so it oversits on my hub (if you know what I mean). Job look absolutely perfect :) thanks anyway matey.
  18. sussed it it was the yellow wire - it is for horn - however it touches the outer casing of the momo boss, so I cut the white and green wires (these are for cruise control - i think) and wired the yellow up to where the white wire went - this constantly makes contact with the momo horn ring. :) now to just figure out and reposition the cruise control switches. :)
  19. The Green, yellow or white? or do i need to do something different everytime I locate the boss onto the (butchered) hicas/horn black plastic round part (which has 3 contacts - the green/yellow/white wires) - the horn goes off. Ive tried shorting all 3 together (like the boss is fitted) and it doesnt go off??????????? I have tried putting insulating tape in order over each one and if I cover the yellow contact the boss goes on without horn going of.. However - the horn doesnt work if i try and use it then ??? Any ideas please.
  20. Anyone know how easy it is to remove the dashboard dial pod - I have a new pod with a set of indiglo dials to fit already on so am just going to note mileage and swap entire pod over.
  21. Dont know if anyone on here knows Carl Dodds or has spoken to him - but what a top bloke!!!! Hes sent me parts on approval without asking for money - how many people do you know who would do that to a stranger!!!! Top lad, if only there were more like him in the world - unlike that ebay B*STARD who took my money and STILL didnt send out my item!!!!!!! Anyway - just thought I'd post and say Mr Dodds  I salute you.
  22. sound matey - get em posted :) I'll eventually get a hicas brace bar on the rear but for now im happy. Im more concerned over what to do with the wires and the big plastic ring thing :) Its a genuine momo for a 300zx.
  23. I just got a new boss to fit (genuine momo without hicas/cruise control support). I have removed steering wheel and the black unit behind it that has the sensors on for hicas etc. Is it safe to then fit the momo hub - it seems to bolt on very securely but the horn does not work - the ring on the back of the momo doesnt touch anything - I had to remove the enclosed unit (hicas sensor - im presuming) to fit the momo. Should I strip down the hicas control unit (the black bit behind the steering wheel) to try and join that to the momo for horn support? either way what do I do with the black hicas bit with the wires? do I just cut the wires? I disabled hicas a while ago (well JD did by joining 2 wires under bonnet - thus disabling rear hicas). I cant get any pics till tomorrow so im hoping Ive explained it ok. Please advise me if poss.
  24. Cheers matey, I wish I'd have known that before I splashed out for a new electric aerial - Doh!!!! I would have been happy with rear screen aerial. live and learn - cheers for the advice.
  25. so is it worth wiring them both up or just the main one?
