  1. Do you know what the thin Co-Ax is for? Ive wired up the thick co-ax and all is fine but there was a thinner co-ax too? Is it for a hidden AM antenna or something?
  2. Removed my stereo to plug in the aerial and the std nissan aerial has a weird 2 pin plug on it - not a standard aerial connector? Is there an adaptor for this or do I need to run a new aerial extension cable to rear of car? Cheers
  3. yep - just sussed it - cheers matey
  4. Can anyone give me a short dummys guide to removing the aerial - I cant even work out how to get the outside fascia off? Is it a black plastic shroud that sits over a screw thread? I cant work it out - cheers :)
  5. Open up Internet Explorer. Click On Tools Click On Options or Internet Options Click the Advanced Tab Then click on restore defaults try that matey
  6. I got the SPVc500 got a 1gb mini sd card with tomtom on it. running a bluetooth tomtom gps receiver (Ebay £85). works brilliantly.
  7. Eventually got it fitted - without removing anything (I removed battery for ease) but even that didnt have to be removed. Its a bastad of a job like but if anyone ever does need to replace their tube then dont pay £500 for engine removal/refit to do it.
  8. sorted it - bridges the 2 gold terminals back up with a large blob of solder (bottom plate not as conductive - had hell of a time getting solder to stick) - chucked it all back in and it works Cheers for the advice people.
  9. right - popped off black plastic cover as shown and a couple of large pieces of solder fell out in the last pic I removed the screw that holds a copper arm in place that looks like it was soldered with a large blob to the bottom arm - pic is a bit fuzzy. why solder - why not wire? any ideas? Cheers
  10. right - looks like neg wire is controlled by this thing as Jeff stated. Im hoping this is the resistor box that he's on about. Ive took it apart as you can see and something is rattling around inside - not good - sounds like a screw Im just seeing if I can strip it down any further
  11. thats just what Im about to check now. . . . here's hoping.
  12. is there any way of proving the resistor pack is shot? could it be anything other than the resistor pack? Can you say whereabouts the resistor pack is located - is there any way of swapping without removal of complete removal of dashboard? I will try and do the temp work around for now and just run a constant earth to the blower so when it comes on it'll be on full time. - thanks again.
  13. bugger!!!! its never anything small or easy on my car Cheers Jeff - appreciated!!!
  14. My inside blower fan has died - I cannot now demist front screen or have any air blown through the vents. Over last few days it made an occasional rattle like something was loose inside then stopped altogether. After pulling passenger side dash apart and locating the blower I noticed the plug that goes into it has fused onto the plastic shroud of the motor and the wires were slightly blackened and stuck together at the plug. Not good. after cutting back the wire back to the good bits and re-extending the wire (solder with 17a cable) - I fitted 2 spade connectors and when I switch fan or a/c on i get about 8-9 volts whilst blower is unconnected? (I thought it should be 12v as per battery). Anyway - the minute I connect the blower to it I lose all voltage on that line - I tap into it and it reads 0v????? I have put a meter across the contacts of the blower and am getting a near short (a few ohms) - what should this be?? However. . . . . . . . . If I connect the blower straight to the battery it works fine? I have tried swapping the relays about in case it was that but am still stuck. please please please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Ive just mounted a new airhorn under the nose panel. I can see both the original horns at either side. Im taking it its a green wire (I think switched live)? Is there anywhere easy I can cut the main feed for both horns and take that to my relay box? Its a bastad under there and trying to pull the feeds of either horn is resulting in turrets and bloody knuckles!!!!!!!!!! Cheers
  16. thanks for the advice people. Noise went away this morning after a few seconds. Oil pressure back at normal now and I took it for a long drive. relief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. that I dont quiet know - there is no dipstick on this car I have always just done the 3k mile change. Never had a prob before new oil has been in for about 1k. what damage could have been done? could it just be a noisy tappet? Im beginning to doubt now whether noise has always been there. . . . . .
  18. anyone know what would cause this? Noticed tonight oil pressure a little low - topped it up but when car is ticking over it sounds like someone is hitting engine with a hammer. If you look in the oil fill hole and watch the cam go round it seems to be at same speed as that. I have tried putting more oil in but it hasnt quietened down.
  19. Im thinking of replacing the front calipers myself - and putting new vented grooved discs on at the same time. the front calipers have stainless braided pipes to them How easy is it to remove them and re-bleed them? Any tips? What sbest for pads too EBC Red Stuff (Ceramic) or green stuff. I was gonna get porterfields but I have heard they squeak badly.???? Cheers
  20. is the electric aerial in the uk tt a std one I could go and buy from Halfrauds? Mines failed and Im wondering whether to replace with an electric aerial or get a window mounted jobbie? Anyone tried different aerials - experiences? Cheers
  21. oh - forgot to delete it - it was the wifes 200sx I was hosting a pic for someone. as for petrol - Tesco will hopefully pull its finger out. I donty know if JD mapped it for optimax - I will get in touch with him :)
  22. Right - with petrol prices on the rise and the local Optimax being far too far away (costs me nearly a tenner just to get there and back), Ive put std unleaded in from my local tesco. Now I remember lots of debates about optimax being the best (and I know a blown engine is not worth it), but Im running 14psi boost, chipped up etc, and I cant hear any detonation on unleaded? I know what det sounds like coz I had it when I accidentally knocked my boost controller up to 18 psi :) If Im not driving it too hard most of the time - Im presuming normal unleaded is ok? Is anyone else whos boosted up out there runnning normal unleaded? or super even?
