  3. to replace the dipstick tube without removing/lifting the engine? Cheers
  4. bout to do an oil change, in the past garages have always done it. just wanted to confirm a few things. warm engine, remove sump plug, drain. remove filter. grease up o-ring on new filter, and fill filter with oil. fit filter (hand tight) fit new sump ring and refit sump plug. fill engine with oil. problem is - how much oil shall I put in. Ive already filled the filter with oil so it doesnt run dry for the first few seconds. I dont have a working dipstick as tube has been crushed by some donkey!! so I cant dip engine. Is it 4.5 litres to put in? Cheers
  5. I got plenty of hdd space - 920GB :) But system is online 24-7 and dont want to take it down - may have to wait for a reboot then try and dual boot it :)
  6. cheers people is the sump ring the same as the micra, etc too?
  7. just been to local halfords to get an oil filter and Castrol RS10/60 Oil. A. They dont stock that oil - but 10/40 is exactly the same they say??!? FFS B. They have no oil filters for a 300zx or a Fairlady even, they cant get them, they do not exist!!! I was waiting for the young lad to ask me if I was sure my car actually needed an oil filter as it doesnt show up on their computers!! :) so Im now stuck - gonna try some local motor spares in the morning. gutted.
  8. Dont know how many people know or use this but if you goto maps.google.com its basically the same as autoroute (not as many features) but free, works fine for postcode searches, to and from direction mapping etc. just incase anybodys taking a drive and not sure of the way . . . .
  9. dunno, I just got some Bridgestone Potenza's? on mine, paid about £130 each and they seem ok.. . . Still slip in the wet, but with 400 ponies going to the rear wheels only I think any tyres are gonna break grip. They seem to stick better at cornering in the wet than my old Kumho's, the Kumhos tended to break grip mid corner and slide the back end. These havent. yet . . . . . . . . .
  10. got it - just havent put it on yet. I was waiting to see what people thought and how stable it was before I spend a day reconfiguring my system, watching it cras, then going back to xp sp2
  11. Putting the zed back together and under the steering wheel there are 2 black air channel boxes. How the F**K do you put the big one in? I have removed the smaller one but when I try and twist it in and up into the part behind the center console, it just wont go!!! Ive spent nearly 45 minutes now laying in awkward positions, twisting and turning the pipe. Im presuming it goes in that side first then into the right hand side for the door vent shaft afterwards.
  12. Finally got my zed back - its been a long time off road now (Nearly 6 months), but picked it up yesterday. Many thanks to Duffer and Johnny@Grasshopper Pro Sport.
  13. the good thing with forza is its a simulation. you can change your tyre pressures etc - you find leaving them as standard will slide, lowering them gives better grip but cooks them earlier so later on in the laps you start losing out bigtime. Its a fine art of setting cars up and changing driving styles for different cars. Ive got every conceivable upgrade on the Zed, and its an absolute animal :)
  14. Are you forgetting "V" the alien lizard race with Robert Englund??? Hardcastle & Mcormick, airwolf were the second favourites. Monkey was truely great too ;)
  15. its one of them games that is not like arcades - its more of a simulation - you cant just bang it fast round corners - its bloody hard to drive but really addictive. :)
  16. yes there is :) I got it and bought one theres the fairlady AND the UK Spec TT :) you have to win a few races and earn £30K to buy it :) and its bloody brilliant - you can mod it up with 99 spec rear lights.
  17. nice, shame bout the rear wheels :) lol
  18. My cars before the zed were a 2.8i Supra Mk2 and then the 3.0 Turbo Mk3 - brilliant cars!!!!! - dare I say even better build quality than the zed.
  19. Silver Vauxhall Chevette 1300L - My mate had the 2.3 HS and I loved it - closest I could afford/get was the 1300L model :( To top it off it had tartan interior!!! :hurl: Anyway - I redeemed myself by getting MK1 escorts after that - the best being the 2.0 mexico one :) - rollcage in it the lot :D
  20. just acquired a 3d card - Nvidia Quadro FX1000 - feckin brill - didnt pay owt for it and it retails at about £400-600 :) anyways. . . . . for those of you with a 3d card, you can goto NASA's Website and download Whirlwind. just google NASA WHIRLWIND Its a satellite view of the earth - you can zoom in close - but not house close - but anywhere in the world. You can see motorways, fields, large monuments etc Use NLT LAndsat 7 when you get it and zoom in anywhere in the UK for best results.
  21. Anyone have a set of rose jointed front arms (bushes) that I could buy off them - Im in desperate need of these quick! Cheers
