  1. To anyone who has fitted these - please send me photos of locations you mounted the ballast box. Mine are just sort of wedged (temporarily) behind the lights. Ive tried *everywhere*, couldnt get it to stick under lights, could not find a suitable place under the nose panel as they just seemed to bounce about on the flimsy thin metal bracket. and lastly. . . do you put electrical tape around the spade connectors that go into the supply to stop moisture / dirt going in? Cheers
  2. HIDs are in and working - thanks for the advice people - appreciated ;) Couldnt find a suitable place to mount the ballasts so just wedged them behind the lights for now. Cant wait till tonight now - roll on the dark. . . . .
  3. If i was to short pins 4 & 5 together on the headlamp dimming relay would that stop the dipped lights from turning off when you flash main beam? If not what pins do I need to short together?
  4. sound - will i need to top up the power steering reservoir with 4.1?
  5. http://www.computingunplugged.com/issuesprint/issue200507/00001447.html just found that now too - cheers
  6. Cheers Jeff, Im wiring up a relay for airhorns so I need a +ve supply of 12v. the horn works but blows the 10A fuse if used for longer than 2 secs. so its - 30 - +12ve from Battery 87 - to +12v horn. 86 - from fusebox +12v (switched) that supplies horn at minute. 85 - Earth.
  7. When you remove the banjo bolts - im presuming steering fluid is gonna come pissing out?
  8. spot on - cheers mate
  9. police got him dunno what will happen to him. I sat in the road holding the little girls hand while ambulance was on its way. it was really upsetting.
  10. Cheers matey, Im worried about sticking them though - in case they fall off - do they hang or do you mean lay flat - I have an aftermarket air filter, so no airbox - it was already removed for me. One of the plugs in the loom is a spade connector, the live one. The other is a bullet type connector - did you just cut that off and join the Neg wire to it? One last thing - the plug that fits into the ballast box - which way round does it go as there is a locating clip on the top side AND the bottom side. Cheers Any pics of mounting location and plug into ballast box would be helpful :)
  11. what a bloody day. in the middle of fitting my headlight outside my house when a young lad in a clio drives by. 30 seconds later I hear screeching of tyres and lots of screaming. I run round and hes knocked down a little girl aged 7 from the estate. thank god shes ok though, lots of blood and crying but she was conscious, ambulance took her away. That mothers scream sort of haunts ya. Scary. Brings home the 30mph speed limits!
  12. Anyone know what wires go to which pins on a standard relay I have - Pin 85 Pin 86 Pin 87 Pin 30 one is Earth, one is supply 12V, one is switch, and one is supply to device.
  13. Got some Roxie Heart HIDs but again - no instructions. Wheres a good place to mount the ballast? box? Does the neg wire goto the neg wire from the feed to the light as its a spade connector - not a bullet connector. The plug that goes into the ballast box - which way does it plug in as there is a plastic nib on the top AND the bottom so it can go either way.?? and I REALLY dont want to pop lights :)
  14. Cheers matey- Ill give it a try
  15. Another job im about to try is fitting my new TOP SPEED PRO 1 PERFORMANCE HICAS eliminator. I have no instructions - Anyone have any - is it an easy job? Cheers
  16. I HATE NISSANS why do they make the headlight so goddamned hard to remove. My old poopra headlamp could be removed in 3 mins. I have just spent the best part of nearly an hour and half in the rain trying to get the poxy thing out. Basically - headlight has a hole in it and I have a replacement. so I thought - I'd fit my HID's at same time. A, cant work out exactly how easy it is to seperate glass - done a search and found a hairdrier blown on glass sealant may help. B, cant work out how the F**K to undo the 2 bolts at the back of the left headlamp to remove it. Ive removed the maf and y-pipe, removed the front dummy fog light, so can now undo the front 2 bolts. the back bolt seems to be irectly under the hard pipe inlet? - Do I have to remove that. As for the last bolt - WTF - How the hell do you get to that - I can sort of feel the bolt by going in through the dummy light enclosure but cant qork out whether I need a spanner or socket? Please tell me theres an easy way to do all of this. . If I do manage to remove the headlamp assembly - is it really worth splitting the glass to clean it for HID's?? AFAIK there is a small lens in front of the light - is it worth cleaning that instead? Cheers
  17. Anyone know how to find my local toad alarm repairer in Rotherham? Lifetime warranty on it i think - guy who fitted it isnt around anymore. It keeps going off and not setting correctly.
  18. My AFM had an intermittent problem - it would just cut out totally - not do the 2500 revs thing - car wouldnt start and it was happening to me all the time - got so bad was gonna sell car - wish I would have tried disconnecting it to see if it would start and run at 2.5K - but I didnt. I think if it has probs it an cause your car to cut out. I ran the diags on mine and it reported ok - buit died a week later again. Replaced it and never had a problem since.
  19. Yep, John Dixon sorted mine ages ago - mine had started to drift out but had not actually caused the problem yet - He put some gasket sealant (i think?) and pushed it in - I didnt notice it - he did
  20. does anybody else have trouble seeing the oil on the dipstick?? Mine is a complete twat to read? and theres definately oil in there :)
  21. Talking of tomtom 5 for mobiles phones - does anybody have a *backup* copy? I have tomtom 4.430 but im sure the UK map is not up to date either - its Great Britain Navigator Map V280. If anyone has a newer map . . . . . ;)
  22. f**K me - its a joke Apparently - I believe NHS hospitals have clauses too - sure ours does - if a non-english speaking person goes to the pharmacy - they get free prescriptions. We all have to pay!! :(
