any ideas on a manual box? Sometimes when Im trying to change gear and im accelerating quickly, it will not go into 2nd or 3rd very quickly - I can be losing 1-2 seconds trying to get it into gear. just wondering if it could just need bleeding, or syncro is going etc etc etc. Cheers

going to look at a 3.0 Turbo Diesel as a daily runner this afternoon. Wondering what the mpg on these are like? I know the petrol are pretty bad but this is the diesel version.

Prob not the right place to be asking but Ive been looking for ages - just missed the one for sale on here. Anyone know of one for sale? Must be black & Manual, colour coded bumpers and have history. Would consider the 318TDS or even a 318i model Price between £1200 and £3500 max - just as a runaround for the wife.

just thought of a prob with using spare wheel area - when me targas are off they will be laying on speaker and rattling :( Not a good idea.

Si, sorry to hear bud. Agree its prob not turbo seals. You kow if they go becuase if you give it some welly, throttle off then put your foot down again you will get a plume of smoke - thats turbo seals.

Im trying to find a tidy black 325tds at moment. all ones Ive seen so far have been dogs just looking for good fuel economy. would the 320i be as good as diesel? even thought about the 316i petrol - just think this would be heavy on juice as foot would be on floor to move it **EDIT** Just found a lovely 318 se - are these underpowered - remember Im not after performance - more for good fuel economy - bloke told me driven carefully can return around the 40mpg.

Looking for a cheap but tidy runaround to save miles on the Zed. Gonna run it through winter so I can put the zed up in a nice warm garage. Want a E36 (1996 on), BMW Thinking of the 325 TDS for good fuel economy and nice and torquey. What are the petrol versions like on fuel economy - cant find real mpg's anywhere. Theres also a 318 tds but Im thinking this would be too slow Basically - dont want a sports car but want to be able to overtake if needs be, and am looking for a good return on fuel. Shall I go 318 /325 tds. Or shall I go for a 318SE Petrol? Cheers

yep - Ive had both - prefer my shortie by far but it is lowered and uprated springs etc
