  1. Just drove out of the ASDA carpark, slowly over their speedhump and it caught my rear west wing bumper and smashed it   put a right crack in the bumper and pulled it out slightly. Legally, where do I stand - Its lowered but never had a prob with any other speed humps!
  2. right, the belts are now over tight, so 3 mechanics have told me :) Not a goof thing - the alternator belt is a brand new Gates and the right size. And its extremely tight - not sure if it was this that was slipping. The PAS belt is a cheap one - Ive posted about this before. Again - this is now overly tight. I cant/dont want to tighten them anymore. Im thinking of replacing them both and starting from scratch again. All this since I changed to a bloody unorthodox pulley :( Oh and no, its not coming out the speakers - Thanks :) Cheers.
  3. if you have a firewall/router check your NAT, I use Azureus and one of the ports 16889 or something like that needs to be open and passed through otherwise I never get more than a 50K Download. Limit your upload to 18Kb Max on a 2MB link, and you should be pulling down 250K Constantly, like me :) Depends on torrent seeding etc but your speeds should be higher than what you specified http://www.mininova.org is a fairly good un for music/software etc
  4. Morning people, Ive noticed that when I switch my lights on (or fogs), Im getting a belt noise - like a quiet squeal. Im presuming any heavy electrical device will cause this. Now I still have problems with a belt slipping (either power steering or alternator) - Im using some spray belt grip temporarily whilst I order new power steering belt as this was a cheapie fitted. Thing is - does it sound like the alternator belt wants replacing, It sorta gives a high pitch whine/squeal but not very loud when lights are on.
  5. if that fails - remove the battery clamps and clean inside the collar of them and clean the terminals, my mates done that and it was just a bad earth.
  6. You gotta hear this
  7. Hands up - Who hates saying "Its a Nissan" Groups of kids congrating round the zed, I walk up to it and they ask what is it. I Think theyre expecting some exotic make ie ferrari, etc I say nissan they grunt and go "oh" My mate was with me a while ago and told this group of young kids "its a ferrari", and they were dead impressed :smash:
  8. got mine too - impressed with it all :) Thanks
  9. cheers anyway smithy, got a mate whos getting me em cheap ;) just wanted the right parts number
  10. Lol, cheers Smithy :) Whats talk power? never heard of it - I have tried belt-grip and that shuts it up for a day. and Smithy - (so I can be sure - remember mines a J-Spec without Aircon) TT JDM With Unorthodox Pulley : water: 4pk975 (is this the alternator) powersteering: 4pk888 These are both the GATES references. Thanks for all your help !!! Mean it!! This is doing my nut in - just please confirm the above is what I need to order.
  11. Danny - the water belt? do you mean the alternator ? Cheers fella
  12. Hi - sorry lads Im having a right ballache here After fitting an unorthodox pulley I fitted some belts which are now squeaking. Decided to replace them both with GATES Belts (1 is a gates but gonna replace it to be sure). Power Steering : Nissan PN# '90-'93 TT: A172M-59SSAVW, Gates PN# '90-'93 TT: 040350 4 rib 35" =890mm Alternator : Nissan PN# A195M-97E0MVW Gates PN# 040390 Alternator 4 rib 39" = 990mm Thats what Ive been quoted (by Smithy) I think  However My local motorfactors say the 040350 is an alternator belt thats 1037mm long. and the 040390 is a power steering belt thats 925mm long? What gives - have I quoted for the right parts (Ive given them the GATES Part numbers). Please please please help as Ive about had enough now.
  13. Burnt :( Glad I only tried it on a small piece. May try it at 2K rpm as opposed to 35K
  14. Yep - shame shes leaving I prefer Tennant now over eccleston, didnt think I would but he plays the part perfectly.
  15. Anyyone ever used a dremel with the polishing cottony thing attachment on their paintwork to remove scratches? Im gonna give it a go later - *REALLY* carefully as Ive been told by several bodyshops some of my fine scratches should buff out. Not sure whether to use a compound or whether it will work but may give it a go myself. I tried one of them big electric buffers (cheap) and it did bugger all.
  16. cheers fella - it just started working :) Gonna try connecting the red wire to the handbrake as thats how my GREDDY worked.
  17. refitted my RAZO TT, and cant get it to work properly? It used to be on AUTO and counted down a time depending on how you drove. I can get it to work with MANUAL (i.e. set to 2 mins and it works fine). I cant get AUTO to work anymore tho - The IGN flashes so its reading the revs but no matter how long I drive for the timer will not go up? Any Ideas? There is a thin red wire that is not connected on the loom - not sure where this is meant to go.
  18. one more thing though - without doing the whole optimax thing to death - doesnt it lose octane quicker - i.e. tanker delivery delivers on saturday and by the following friday the octane is not guaranteed at 98?
  19. ok ok ok ok ok Im convinced to switch back :) Always have put it in and for the extrta few quid its worth it for piece of mind for the engine. Not sure about the mpg though - havent really noticed its any worse on unleaded. My nearest Shell Optimax is about 8 miles away, and my zed is my daily drive, but its 8 miles in the wrong direction from where I go :( Cheers people.
  20. you can get aftermarket knock sensors, these work through the rev range, unlike Nissans own det sensor that I think only works below 3K rpm.
  21. last week - Religously been using it since I had the car. Its mildly tuned (Exhaust, filter boost upgrade and aggressive JD Chip). Decided to try normal unleaded in it and it runs sweet as (just cheaper) Cant tell any performance difference and Im not getting Det!!! :)
  22. lol - good idea ;) Ive now added no overseas bidders - way round that tho is they can register over here then still get it shipped over there. You can relist, yes, but its a ballache and you have to wait 7 days, update countless ebay policies etc etc etc May try the empty box trick tho - how do I get them to pay tax? Do I just send the box off?
  23. 3Rd Time!!!!! fookin 3rd time now selling on fleabay SPECIFYING UK ONLY DELIVERY and a fookin Nigerian does a buy-it-now offerning me up to 5 times the amount!!!!!! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal Fookin costs me sellers fees and final sale fees and why "Coz they want it shipped to their poor fookin grandmother who has has a bad life in Nigeria!!!" Fookin Scammers - I Hate EM!!!!!!!!! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal
