  11. i am really gutted but i will find another workshop just dont want an old scruffy one, and want one with an oven almost free paint jobs are quite handy when things run out on me, and geoff thats a crazy pic, makes me laugh every time i look at it, how the hell did you get that in one of these boxes to write in.
  12. went and got all the money together last night sorted it so we had everything got their and a polish guy was giving him the money for the unit what winds me up the most is the polish guy had the unit out back and opened up and showed us around, phoned the landlord for us and made the meet what he said was 1030 this morning and he met him at 1000 and paid him. so were out looking for another unit and aint stopping to we get one? we will get it done but at the minute were all gutted lol thank you all for the replys and thanks to you to isyss im glad you was happy with work
  13. mines running well just replaced rear shock feels great at high speed on motorway now
  14. hello every1 me me uncle and brother inlaw have just got ourselfs a workshop in dagenham essex with an oven big enough to paint vehicles up to mercedes sprinter van size. im a mechanic have just left my job at a well known large workshop in dagenham called sfd solutions which work on anything from aston martins, range rovers, porsche, almost anything, wanted to try have ago at doing something for myself, have worked on a few zeds over past couple of years, i have 1, so does my cousin and my uncle use to, have a couple of friends with them too, and i always get lumbered when things go wrong lol, have done gearbox conversion, fitted stage2 turbos to mine [with engine in] timing belts, etc, my brother inlaw paints and he painted my zed about a year or so ago and it looked great straight from the oven no flatting and mopping down how it is now is how it came out the oven apart from the marks i done on the big rock that run out on me in mcdonalds and ruined my front bumper lol what i was asking would any1 be interested in having a look at our workshop and a look at quite a few zeds between mine family and friends, and maybee if you ever need work done use us, we aint zed specialists we dont do tuning chipping mapping etc, but were in south east [dagenham area] were be cheap and can fit brakes, clutches, props, mounts, suspension, timing belts, etc i love working on zeds, they will be well looked after and hope it might help out down south where not many people work on them, what do use think would it be good idea were be doing all cars but would enjoy doing a few zeds
  15. i thought that people might be thinking im trying to earn money i aint a z specialist, theirs loads i dont know about them, i am a mechanic by trade, i have quite a good work shop which is owned by family with three 2 post ramps a 4 post ramp and a full length pit which makes life a lot easier, i even changed both turbos their and people say their hard, was fiddly but not as bad as i thought it would be, if you had a bad experiance you have the right to warn people mate, anyway lets all just hope he gets it sorted lol when i first got my z it was running like a dog, so found a z specailist in swindon, borowed a trailor to get it their [3 hours drive], they said they had diagnostics to put it on when got their, said diagnostics wasnt working so they found air leak and sorted it, then they spent about 5 hours fiddling with cas to set timing without using light, and throttle posistion sensor without volt meter and charged about £500 which if they had diagnostics would have took 5 mins, and to top it my mates mondeo broke what towed trailor so had to drive a rougher z then to start with home and lost hes car with trailor what cost me another few hundread quid. bloody cars i hate them, just their so much fun when they work.
  16. as the guy couple of threads above still got hes seems a good price
  17. i think you have to mess about a bit cause flywheels bigger on tt have you tried looking for a whole manual car with a turbo gone or somthing like that might work out cheaper for you i try have a look later see if i can find anything
  18. i didnt want money for fitting box if he got a box we could use the ramps where i work to make it easier to fit saves him trying to do it on the floor like i did. i have done lots of boxes on all differant cars and to fit a box to the z aint hard i take that over a new mini or mondeo any day of the week. i would still go manual conversion my cousins got a manual one, i have a manual one, my cousin me and my uncle have all had a few autos between us. i have pulled away a few times next to my cousins and off the line my manual pulled away a lot quicker thats why he sold it and bought a manual. other then a clutch my box as never let me down. if you do go manual behind drivers wing [manual] theres piping you will want for the servo or your clutch will be hard. good luck anyway mate if you need help just ring me.
  19. hello mate i done my conversion nearly year ago used secondhand clutch, so had 2 take it apart about 2months ago to put new 1 in. i done it on the floor outside my mums house had to strip 1 down, and put it onto my1 [i bought another car for manual box] £600 when i stripped it for the clutch change used ramp took me about 3 hours. best off getting braided hose instead of running standard clutch line. and pedal is quite easy with air ratchets. and you need new spigot [pilot] bearing about a fiver. my uncle had a z before me and hes auto went and he had the box rebuilt and it kept going he got the hump in the end and sold it. think you would have to put cooler and make sure all lines were clear if you was gonna stay with the auto and hope it dont go again. if it was me id go manual. i personally think they feel faster. they dont accidently kick down on the corner in the wet and rip the front off in the trees twice lol. hope you sort it. my number is 07523519021 ring me if you need any help mate
  20. im in dagenham think i see you on a13 other day done a manual conversion on mine work all day mon to sat but willing to help after work if you get the parts i work in a garage [mechanic] i could probally open up on a sat night and use the ramp its my uncles garage
  21. i think it is 5.4 its a p reg might be 1998 it is fast but its funny it feels it but dont seem it if you know what i mean its got bloody double glazed windows lol
  22. i show him that in the morning perfectly said
  23. hello every1 just wanted to know, what do you think would be quicker 300zx tt manual or a 96 bmw 750iL my uncle keeps trying to wind me up its the actual car out the film rock and roller ment to have some kind of power package from new i think it has no chance lol drove them both z feels a lot quicker the bmw is really smooth but still feels fast not worried whats quickest but would be nice to wind him up
