  5. Ha ha - happy days!! This thread came up while I was searching for something else. Jeez how times change! :(
  6. some people just don't work properly in the head :(
  7. yeah I saw that mate thanks, I know it's regarded as one of the best but I like my E-01 with its graphs and stuff! :D
  8. Thanks Jeff and Ashley. I'll add it to my list of things to look at. In terms of what you said Jeff that does make some sense with regards to electrical niggles.
  9. Hi Jeff - no I'm running Apexi BOVs.
  10. All, I've been running a Greddy Profec E-01 for about 6 or 7 years now, but noticed over the last 18 months or so that often the boost doesn't come on as strong as usual. When I look at the graphing display that shows the boost over the last 20-odd seconds (which is a very useful feature!) it's kind of scrambled in that the line will be bouncing up and down from top to bottom in a kind of scribble pattern, instead of showing a curved build-up and then straight line. This isn't overboost or the limiter kicking in as I know what that would look like, and I'm confident in the settings [which were tweaked by Noel recently]. What'll happen is I'll boost, say in 2nd gear, and the car won't accelerate as strong, I'll hear a regular clicking noise from deep behind the speedo cluster (which I guess could actually be the solenoid/controller itself in the driver's near corner of the engine bay), and the graph will 'scramble'. I'll take my foot off, then plant it again, and then it would usually boost properly. It's pretty much 50/50 whether I'll get a good strong boost or a half-arsed boost. I'm confident in the settings of the controller and I'm sure the plumbing is good otherwise the problem would occur pretty much every time. When boosting properly it holds max boost consistently @ 17.5psi and acts as I'd expect it to so there shouldn't be any leaks. When Noel was mapping my car he mentioned to me when I was collecting it that he thought the controller was faulty. So I guess what I'd like opinions on is is there any way of checking the actual solenoid part of the EBC in the engine bay for faults. I'm guessing it's a mechanical fault as opposed to an electronic fault (i.e. the screen unit and the sensors, albeit a few horizontal lines of the LCD display are faulty but I'm sure that's not causing the problem!). Instead of just buying a whole new EBC I wonder if it's possible to buy only the mechanical/solenoid part in an attempt to replace just that part.
  11. have you thought about having a smaller plate made up? I had the same issue with my old plate blocking pretty much the whole air intake space in the bumper. I now have a smaller one that is angled back slightly and doesn't seem to cause too many issues (except for the pheasant that bounced off it a year or so ago).
  12. I'm gutted to hear this Jeff, it sounded like you and Lynda were so close to making the move. I can't imagine what stress has been involved over the past months. :(
  13. yeah I came across this box as well: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?164650-Low-idle-stall-LIGHTS-and-buzzing!&p=1677870&viewfull=1#post1677870
  14. that's my vid Greg and I sympathise with you! I made it while I had a buzzing relay issue. It wasn't too bad to do once I was in position, i.e. balancing half my upper body weight on my head! sore neck for the next few days. :(
  15. that would be me :)
  16. I have an Apexi Super-AFC2 in one of mine. I intend to replace the MP3 player with another blanking plate and put the Apexi RSM into the second one.
  17. ^ aye, the red one's a Wings West same as mine (although not genuine, ahem)
  18. our greyhound loves his comforts too. Barton got a big brown duvet last Christmas but he still wants his bedding on top of it before he lies on it. does Kane like to go upside down? most g/hounds do this. I think its something to do with heat dissipation
  19. i spent 3 1/2 hours on GTAV last night - wow what a game! It's going to take some time to complete/explore fully. And I'm also a proud retro gamer as well: Atari 400 Atari 800XL Atari 520STFM Atari 1040STE Atari Lynx Atari Jaguar I only still have the 8-bits though - funnily enough I can't remember what happened to the rest.
  20. great work! I have sent some Thanks. Or was it a Like? Or some Rep? :scared:
  21. no worky :( try re-copying the links
  22. Welcome to the club - get some photos up!!
  23. an unlikely but simple to test cause could be the hazard switch being partially stuck on. this happened to me once because my hazard switch was a little loose. just click the hazards on and off a couple of times and give the left-hand control pod a gentle whack. worth a try.
  24. well bugger me it's working again, all by itself! my electrical gremlins move through the Z like s**t through a tube.
