  1. I'll be there, possibly in the pits with laptop in hand (although hopefully I'll just be able to spectate with the missus)
  2. I don't think anyone meant to suggest losing the .co.uk or to alter the domain name in any way, just to have more of a focus as a 'physical' car club. I don't want anything I type to come across as criticism for criticism's sake. I am genuinely passionate about the Z32, the work I do as part of this club and the fellow Zed Heads I've met. I really wish there were more meets & there was more of a proactive community effort away from the boards. Anyone that's met me knows I live & breathe all things Nissan, I really want to push awareness of the car & this club, both from a trader's point of view and as a genuine enthusiast. My local section, the Midlands, is woefully quiet. There hasn't been one official event organised in a long time, which is a real shame. On the other side of the coin, when a karting meet was put to the Midland Massive, there wasn't a great response. But it was more like a few of us trying to do some karting, rather than a 300zx.co.uk Karting Competition, for example. For me, personally, I want to wear this Club's colours loudly & proudly at every show, meet, track day, drag day, barbeque etc etc, but it's a bit difficult as it is very internet-based at the moment. It's a great forum populated by a diverse userbase judging from the people I've met, it would just be nice and a real positive step forward to see it all in person on a much more regular basis, rather than a few die-hards at Santa Pod on occasion. Maybe a more 'club'-oriented focus would result in this. I think any person's posts that come across a bit frustrated, ungrateful or pushy is borne out of a genuine enthusiasm to have the marque more widely recognised & respected as it should be. :)
  3. Haha, you God Damn wannabes!
  4. Just checked for any clashes and there aren't any. I'll be there.
  5. Is being "official" a possibility though? What would be the pros & cons?
  6. I used to use stock Z32 fuel filters on my S13 & S14 as they are bigger than stock and the same price. On my Zed & Pulsar I use huge Sytec ones becuase they are really good value. With regards to advantages, it would take a massive fuel requirement where the stock fuel filter became a bottleneck in terms of performance.
  7. It's so they don't lose the metrics associated with out of stock items, which would adversely affect visibility due to eBay's search algorithms :)
  8. I think it's just to have the emphasis on "300zx Owners Club", as opposed to 300zx.co.uk. On those large banners for example.
  9. Does sound like valve stem seals.
  10. The JWT ECU is exactly the same as a stock ECU with regards to what can be done to it. The chips in these are either UV-erasable or OTP (One-Time Programmable). Either way they are just disposable components. The chip would come out & my hardware would go in, it's the ECU that gets mapped, the chip is simply a container for the data. You would have a fresh chip programmed with a proper map for your car.
  11. To anyone thinking of running in this year's TOTB, I will offer pre-event shakedowns on the dyno at a very competitive rate. P.O.A as it depends upon the individual's requirements. Special dispensation to those running TURBONOZ decals  At the event I will be on hand for full datalogging of stock ECUs including AFRs. Bear in mind that I will likely be very busy with my MR2 P.O.S. I should also be able to supply RACE FUEL at a very reasonable rate.
  12. Different dyno. 10% from one to the other is going to result in discrepancies of 40ish bhp on a Zed pushing reasonable power. There is no industry standard and you will get variations from one to the next. Different cars, different engines, different turbos, different set ups. A slipping clutch robs a huge amount of power & torque. JWT chips contain generic maps designed a decade ago before it was possible to alter many more parameters. Also, until you download & view the maps yourself, you can't know for certain what is the actual map that is in your ECU. ALL of the cars running generic +70bhp ECU upgrades (JWT chips) aren't even mapped for boost levels higher than the stock factory mapping (88 load for fuelling, 96 load for timing). 75% of the +70bhp JWT map is simply the high gear fuelling map. When I get chance I will post a thread going into details. I was going to do this a long time ago, but thought I'd leave it a while and let my own work do the talking first. Dyno numbers aren't that important :)
  13. Thank you for the kind words. Didn't actually get in until 2.30am as we needed a Midnight Maccy D's and ended up discussing lots of exciting things :D Just one thing though: The maximum power & torque output was actually achieved at just over 18 psi which would have resulted in the 435 bhp & 447 lb·ft. I said to the dyno operator that the car was making too much power for the spec from the very first run. Very similar to cars with Stage 1 turbos. I also asked if there was any way the dyno could be reading out. He just looks at me when I ask him questions like that  The main thing is the before & after results.
  14. Hello & welcome. Very nice Zed :)
  15. It was good meeting you & James at Cadwell finally. You're way friendlier in real life  Let me know if you'd still like me to sort the mapping at some point :) Bear in mind it's not just the fueling that's important. AFRs can range from 10 - 12.2:1 and be perfectly safe. Timing that is a couple more degrees advanced than it should be at a certain point can spell instant death for ringlands.
  16. He's alright.
  17. That's funny (I'm assuming you are in fact joking and bringing some levity to the thread). "Those kind of people...." Classic :D
  18. Club shop? I searched a while back looking for fleeces but couldn't find anything.
  19. Seriously? They've been modified from day one in every domestic market they've been released in  It's one of the most modified cars on the planet, be that right or wrong. I understand someone wishing to keep theirs standard, I had a 99% stock low mileage Zed and it was lovely. Zeds are indeed afflicted with bad bodykit syndrome, but properly modifying & tuning a car is far from "bullshit". I take it you've heard of Nismo, Nissan's own in-house tuning company....
  20. Merchandise! I'd love a 300zx.co.uk (or 300zx Owners Club lol) fleece, personalised with my forum name & trader details. Polo shirts, caps, umbrellas etc.

I'm looking to map an NA Zed if you fancy it before the TT conversion  Oh ye of little faith! Do you worry it's going to blow up every time you drive it hard? That's no way to enjoy a car. Got to blast the cobwebs out once in a while :D
  22. Disclaimer: I can only comment with experience on the modifying/tuning side of things, as that is what I know about. The logistics of parts replication & supply, forum politics & other topics raised in this thread, I know nothing about. So if my posts sound very focused on one particular aspect of Zed ownership, that is because they are
  23. The Zed looks petite next to the GTR
  24. Hello & welcome.
