  1. Yes, there's no need to take scavenging into consideration with turbocharged cars. 3" all the way for your power goals.
  2. I don't really care either way about bodykits, but that particular one, plus whatever has happened to the bonnet is just... ungainly. Big arch gap and weak offset all round. The sideskirts look badly attached. I just don't understand it. The guy looks older than 17 as well. Subjectiveness aside, there is a lot wrong with the way that car has ben "created".
  3. I think the OP missed the sarcasm in your earlier posts....
  4. Ah, I've heard the story about this car. I love the red colour, hate the fade-to-black. I love the interior, hate the bodykit. A true marmite car.
  5. You had me at "free mapping sessions"
  6. It can be only one place I reckon.
  7. Wow. I've seen some poorly set up cars in my time, but that is appalling. It's far too rich on all but the blue run, and even that is isn't good. The green run is bad. The boost response is terrible, all gain and no duty or a severe boost leak. That may account for the high setting on the controller with a peak of 15psi. You've actually got peak power at 4921rpm before it takes a nose dive, no wonder it feels bad to drive. You'll notice that the other runs are making the same power at 6700-7000rpm. Genuinely can't believe that was "tuned" like that on a dyno. The fuel pressure is the real oddity though.
  8. Exactly. If it's somehow too lean if the map is poor, then you'll be nursing a holed piston sooner rather than later. Wherever you take it, it is imperative they have the equipment and knowledge to monitor AFR & knock. If you get dismissed with "nah, it'll be fine mate", then you know they aren't doing it right :)
  9. That's not turbo lag. That's your newly acquired car telling you to stop driving it.
  10. No, it's not a guessing game I'm afraid. Best to turn the boost all the way down and drive it very carefully until it's sorted. What, the turbos don't kick in until 5000rpm?
  11. Apexi RSM? It's AFR that is important when tuning anything. I don't think he needs to go that far, but it definitely needs setting up properly by the sounds of it. Still can't believe someone somewhere thought it would be OK to set the fuel pressure at 6 bar base! That's over 100psi at a bar of boost. Scary what some people do....
  12. Invoice from whom and for what exactly? If you can be specific, then it is easier to diagnose what could be the issue. 6 bar fuel pressure in order for the car to run over 3000rpm means it's been messed around with quite a bit. Wideband gauge with digital/analogue readout, typically 10:1 - 20:1? Or just a narrowband gauge that says lean/stoich/rich?
  13. What boost is it running at? How long did the previous owner have it for? 320bhp is very low for a modified Zed. When was it on the dyno last?
  14. Ahh, it all becomes clear...
  15. People tend to pay for the priviledge, unless I'm sponsoring them of course  What's to debate? It's £35 for a weekend camping ticket, or £100 for a weekend camping ticket, entrance to 3 events on both days, plus weekend camping for a support vehicle & another person :D I have a great pit guy, so I treat him to fuel & food!
  16.  Cheapest option would be to replace the FMIC with another from eBay. FMIC are a very worthwhile upgrade, don't revert to stock. What were the AFRs when you took it to the specialist and the fuel pressure was discovered? What were the Consult (diagnostic) values? 6 bar is ridiculously high, the injector latency will be off the scale! Maybe the ECU has a chip programmed for larger injectors, and it has had stock injectors fitted for some reason. The ECU map is the first thing that should be determined. The FPR should be set to 3 bar with the vacuum line disconnected. At idle it will sit around 2.5 bar on a healthy engine & set up.
  17. There is no upside to reducing exhaust diameter downstream on a turbocharged car. Bigger is better, all that matters is aiding turbo spool and you do that by offering as little resistance as possible after the turbine housing when it comes to exhaust consideration.
  18. I've heard some terrible ideas before, but that one takes the biscuit! The deadline is 22/07/15 for car details. They are very accommodating, so if things are looking tight either way, I'm sure they'll be able to help.
  19. It's just Chinese stuff isn't it? No point making it when you can buy it in for pennies
  20. Hello & welcome. You're not far from PowerZed in Pilning for when you do find a car :)
  21. It will likely be a Team 300zx.co.uk effort again, but I doubt there will be more than 10 entrants. Bob organised the team last year, myself the year before. My main interest for 2015 is actually having a competitive car for once and providing support, especially for Jaffa's car. Is Bob doing TOTB again? Are you up for organising a team this time around? Sure, just need to book it in when convenient for yourself :)
  22. Collective sigh of relief can be heard emanating from Zeds nationwide
  23. Main thing is... Were the original parts marked/indexed? Or are you planning on having them balanced anyway?
  24. Depends how stiff. Is it packed with assembly lube? Were all the components marked and reassembled exactly the same?
