Ok, I'm sure you all remember me asking about ECU remapping. Well I just got hold of the previous owner but one for my car. I turns out that when he sold it, it was running perfectly and at about 380-390bhp the car was chipped by a specialist firm all the paperwork was supplied to the previous owner. I haven't seen any of it. The owner (Adam) said there was a box under the passenger seat which is not there now, so it looks like the arsehole(Mariusz the guy I bought it from) has removed it or one of the shitty garages he took it to did. So heres the thing can I just go out and get a sports chip as all the extra hard work should have been done and get it installed. According to Adam the car was in fantastic condition and running very well. I bought it as a not running well car hence why I paid silly money for it. I could really do with talking to someone about this. If there is anyone who is knowledgable about these things who give me a call I would be eternally grateful. PM me for my number, I'll call back. ^^^^ Like Dipone says 12mm is a little thin it could run the risk of breaking. Absolute must is to PVA the floor before you put anything down. Just water it down and brush it all over to seal the floor. If you want to put sand and cement down, go with a 3/1 mix but don't forget additives, (plasticiser and waterproofer) these will make the mix easier to work with, also put plenty of PVA in the mix, this should help it bond together and prevent cracking.

It could be that because the car is old things have worn, but if you don't have an adjustable camber kit it shouldn't be that far out. I had full wheel alignment done the other day and mine were out massively. (I think thats more to do with the fact I think the previous owner had the car set up for a track day or something). Going through my receipts for the car I had upper front adjustable camber kit fitted to my car for £200, the front is the most important, backs aren't so much of an issue. (This is what I've been told). Hope this helps

Speedo's are exceptionaly inaacurate when reporting speed thats why camera have a tolerance built into them, to allow for this. A car may be capable of 200mph on a rolling road but that is because there is no wind resistance slowing the car down. 200mph is so difficult to achieve because of this. at 200mph the wind resistance is like driving into a brick wall. I was speaking to a guy at Zed world, in the army. He has had his Zed for ages and he says he regularly does 180mph in his and I believe it, i've done 155 in mine already and I wasn't even trying. (honestly I was took scared the bonnet vent would fly out and shatter my windscreen).

With mine I had the same. If it is just when the engine heats up then its the PTU. If its when the weather is bad then its the AFM. Mine both went at the same time and trying to drive 200miles getting high on fuel vapour and the CAT warning light on constantly was rather stressful, especially having to stop at every services to cool the PTU down. It sounds like its your PTU. If it starts doing it, turn the engine off and get a wet tea towel and hold iton to it to cool it down. If the car starts running fine again then its definately your PTU.

Thanks for all the input guys I really appreciate it. Its probably not something I'm gonna get done before christmas now anyways. There are a few other little niggly things that need sorting on the car before I start modding the engine. I think what I'm going to do is sort the cosmetics first then put together a concrete plan of what I'm going to upgrade/ replace, otherwise I can see myself getting carried away.

I'm taking the Z to Zedworld in Tamworth to get the Hicas bushes redone as they have worn out. I'm thinking at the same time to get my ECU remapped. They say it costs £300 and gives about 70bhp more. Is this a good idea? Will this have any impact on the turbo's or coolng system or anything else? Would it be better to upgrade other elements of the car first. The car has blitz dump valves, sports air filter, and big bore exhaust. It may have other performance mods but I wouldn't recognise them if I was looking at them.

lol @DVD. But I could not imagine anything worse. When I lived with my ex wife. We had 6 cats. I love them like they were our children and still do. I f anyone hurt them or did anything to them I would kill them. SLOWLY!!! Hope the cats okay. Truly. If you find em call me. I'm also a builder, so the evidence could disappear quite nicely ;)

I have to say some of your cars are truly beautiful. (And I'm not saying that because I'm drunk....although I am!) I was lucky I picked what I think is an amazing car for a stupid price. ( I will never admit what I paid for it but it wasn't much. Expecially considering the history I have for it.) I just want to make it better. Here are some higher quality pics for your perusal. hiya, nOObie to all this but had this problem in mine. I got all the garage receipts from my Z and its had 3 so far in 3 years. I f the current one is going south then it will be 2 in 4 months :(

ooh another thing. Last year or so the car had new rubbers for the targa top. I still keep getting dripped on when its wet. Its ok in town, but on a long journey I get out the car looking like I pissed myself. I've inspected all the rubbers and they are good. Could it be they are badly fitted?

Ok so I don't think I have cruise control. No biggie. Its just those backwards lights list it on there.

Ok list of probs with my Z. Hopefully someone can sort. Why does the electronics illumination panel under the speedo read backwards??? Plus none of the lights work on it properly :( There seems to be a blowing on the left hand exhaust and a small clicky, tappet like sound but not. The sound is from the exhaust not the engine. Mine is a 92 TT Jap manual. Does it have cruise control? and if so how the f**k can I turn it on. I know I sound stupid but Until 3 months I'd never been near one of these cars, let alone drive one. I couldn't turn the window washers on until the garage showed me. LOL Is there anything that can repair or make good cracked leather? The drivers seat is starting to look worn.

Here is some pics of the car. The ones on the side of the road are before I took it to Zed World. You wouldn't believe how long it takes to drive to Tamworth from Stanstead having to stop at every services on the way to let the engine cool down. The PTU had gone and the air flow meter was knackered as well. I finally arrived in Tamworth but 2 hours after the garage had closed so had to find a hotel for the night. Didn't realise until the next day that in my infinite wisdom as read somewhere on the net that re-siting the PTU can help. So I did that and the fan promptly chewed through half the cables. it still drove on 3 cylinders though. Says a lot for these cars.

Ok its a 1992 , jap TT model in manual. It has got a body kit on it and bonnet vent. dump valves air filter, and big ( and I mean enourmous) exhaust ( damn thing sounds so loud your ears ring when you turn it off). I don't care I'm going deaf I just grin like an idiot whenever I start it. Someone has done the interior in two tone leather. Needs a serious clean though and drivers seat is starting to look shabby. A boost meter has been installed but who over did must have been smoking crack because it just looks retarded, not a nice installation.

I have to say I don't know much about the car I know someone has put time and love into it and spent movey on it, but it still needs some attention. I couldn't list the mods because I'm not entirely sure what is standard and what isn't. I dig out my pics of it then maybe you guys (and not forgetting girls) can tell me.
