After having a stroke this morning, our loyal Dog Simba, had to be put to sleep by the Vet. he was 13 years old. to say that we are devastated, just doesn't cut it. but we take comfort in the fact, that he had a long and happy life.

Rest in Peace Old Man.

Sorry to hear this fella. :(
Thanks Nick.

I'm there with you mate.....

I had to do the same to my cat, it broke my heart doing it, she was 19 and had a tumour, bless she was purring away as I held her in my arms

I 've never replaced her

So totally understand what you are going through (((((big hugs)))))

Sorry to hear that mate.. :(

It certainly is a tough thing to go through.. Only those of us who have been there and done it, really know how heart wrenching it is, after all, they are one of the family.

Sorry to hear this mate, I feel for you. Its always heartbreaking when you lose an old loyal friend. As you said he had a long happy life, you can't ask for more than that.

Sorry to hear about this. My dog died on my 18th Birthday. I'd had him since I was 6. Remember that there will be a time when you can look back at the fond memories, but without the pain. Chin up matie.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, its hard at the moment. keep seeing reminders of him around the house. Mrs keeps breakin down too. but it will pass.

R.I.P. Simba. In my life I've had to say goodbye to 6 dogs and it's gut wrenching every time. the important thing is that they were loved and had a great life. if Simba was loved and had a great life, then youve done your job 100% mate.

gutted for ya mate i lost my german shepard a couple of months ago she was 10 and her back legs had gone but was still bright eyed and bushy tailed it was the right decision i made but totally wrecked me and the wife so i know how you feel but if he had had a stroke you have to take some comfort in the fact that his quality of life could have been affected people say they are just pets but to me all my pets are members of the family and when you lose one its just like you have lost a family member

thoughts going out to you and yours mate

bad news Rich, they pan out to be a family member after a while mate and when they go its like losing one of the kids :( not a bad old age thou !!

really sorry for you mate - my two collies are six and i just cant imagine what its like - we're all thinking of you

kindest regards,

alex

Sorry to here this Kim. I have had the horrid task with three of our dogs over the years and you feel like you've betrayed them, But you know you haven't if that makes any sense.

I really feel for ya.

Sad news mate - but at least he had a happy life and was well loved. Small consolation I know............................
