  1. Intel Anypoint DSL modem has only one light - yellow when the pc has disconnected and it turns green when broadband connected. We click on a dialer ( I know it don't dial up) to make it connect or disconnect. The dialer has a username and password all the same. Also with BT they give you some utilities to check the operation and speed of the modem and broadband line and these are operational before they switch you on. In fact I kept trying before the programmed on date and found it working the day before.
  2. T top off in November too! Bring on the global warming!

I used a 565ah calcium battery on offer from Halfords. Smaller physically than stock but I think with just as much capacity. Think it cost around £45 with 25% off. I then dumped the big thermally insulated casing it sits in and made some room in the engine bay. Your 100W sub wont matter unless you sit listening for a while at full whack with the engine off and other electrics running!
  4. Well my UK car also has a small transmission oil cooler mounted in front of the engine oil cooler and its not an add on. It also has the tubes going into the water radiator headers. Mine is a series 2 - maybe different? The diff oil cooler is mounted high in the offside inboard of the rear wheel arch and uses an electric oil pump. Euro spec cars had 17% bigger water radiator cooling fin surface and the extra oil trans and diff cooler to enable continuous high speed autobahn running.
  5. Means High Intensity Discharge - could mean a trip to the special cinic;) http://www.autodirectsave.com/REAL_KIT_SYSTEM.asp About 2 x as bright as normal - havent you seen the bright blue lights coming atcha?
  6. Are they also gona be self leveling according to the regs? Take it you also mean stock glass covers - not perspex?
  7. Bell Direct do - they did mine both and gave full NCB on both
  8. uk dip lamps go out when main selected and on the sidelights setting with ign on the dip headlights go to dim dip

  14. Its the gauge sensor - the little one on the right on the top water connection. Take off the connector and put it back on again - its prolly just oxide on the connection. Makes the gauge needle jerk around. The big one beside it is the ecu one and if that has bad contacts in the connector you get rough running safety boost etc.
  15. An importer near me has an 98R TT manual. Sounds lovely
  16. Well I'm still working on my nitrogen separator for the intake. Think about it. 4/5ths of all that your big turbos stuff into your engine is nitrogen - which is not much use. Dont think more think different! If you can separate just one fifth of the nitrogen out of the gas that gets to the intake manifold then your oxygen portion is up by 20% and so's the bhp with appropriate mapping for the O2 richer air! Isnt it just what nos is - another way to get more O2 in? Now how to make a small nitrogen separator that can handle the air a zed needs and fit into the nose area. Thats the problem;)
  17. Might have a duff engine thermostat - this'll mean the engine never fully warms up and so you'll never get a decent heat out of it. You tend to spot this as winter sets in and the car runs ever colder.
  18. I think its just that warmed up fluid expands enough to raise the sensor float past the low warning point.
  19. or the bulb is not in properly and not in the focus position. Or duff bulbs about to blow with metal atoms all over the inside of the glass silvered like!

  21. Coarse it can. Mines stays on econ unless really wissing down and heavy breathers inside then it makes sense for the ac on to de humidify. Maybe you have a leak from t tops making the carpets damp and that leads to misted up windows when its warmed up. Other poss is the matrix and maybe no smell because you dont have enough anti freeze. You might also have a screen vent problem -does it not select on manual even? When the dmist is used it should override everything to max with dehumidified ar on the screen
  22. sounds like you lost a lot of water and boiled up. You could have a hose leak somewhere or you've just let it get too low and its boiled up. The pinking can be caused by no water in the cylinder heads making the combustion chambers so hot you get pre ignition. Hope for the best and fill it after a cool down - danger is you may have damaged a head gasket by carrying on driving after there was not even enough water in it to make the heater work. The smoke you saw may have been steam coming from the overflow reservoir down the near side side of the nose
  23. Check your radiator level and the overflow reservoir. If you're losing water it smells like the matrix!
  24. Think I paid about £35 from local Nissan dealer
