  1. Best idea, start with the essentials. Jeff
  2. Agree remove, much better idea !
  3. Not really worth the trouble unless you going for a full under bonnet de-clutter. Jeff
  4. Yeh, times change I guess, so do we have stats for how many members actual post? this could be why meet ups just do not seem to get a decent response. Jeff
  5. 300zx Owners Club Statistics > Members : 10,099, Active Members : 454 Quick question, the percentage of members registered to those active is clearly massively different, just wondering what constitutes an active member? one post a day or a week, a month? hard to tell if 454 odd chats are going on or not.... just wondered. Jeff PS Hi Jonce !!
  6. Yeh nothing to worry about ...... gulp ! lol Jeff
  7. No problem, seems you have already made the decision as hard as it is, agree breaking any car on your driveway has its downsides but get your money back and get the shell gone, do not let it linger in the hope of making a few extra quid, rarely does that work out with neighbours and the wife !! Good luck buddy. Jeff
  8. I have some advise for you buddy, do not be offended but please listen, I have seen this same scenerio played out scores of times with bad 300`s just STOP right now. Spend no more money on the car, the amount of problems you have uncovered so far is unlikely to be the end of it and unless you have full workshop facilities and skills with endless pot of cash you will be working on it for the next two or three years in your spare time, vast amounts of cash and then, trust me you will be placing an add entitled "Unfinished project for sale, thousands spent " Hate to say it but right at the beggining of this thread I said it would be a money pit, you have effectively got a breaker nothing more, do yourself a massive favour, sit down and totally evaluate what you want to spend and what are the realistic goals. Its heartbreaking to spend out and get caught with a lemon, but it is so much worse to waste the next two or three years to only fail, I appreciate there is what seems like a lot of help and encouragement from owners and enthusiast alike but it is your money and time been invested, remember that. If you do decide to forge ahead, then be realistic with time and money, but try not be another victim of car love, sure there is way better ones to get your teeth into. Sorry for the negative overtone but and I am sure many will agree this has happened so many times here and when the cars were 10 years younger too ! Jeff
  9. No Tony, that said the roads here are quiet enough to do that kind of speed if of course one was brave / delinquent enough Jeff
  10. Generally age related combined with high temps and maybe too high a concentration of antifreeze. Jeff
  11. Saw so many zx rad caps like that in the workshop, fit a new one soon as ... its toast. Jeff
  12. Must of been a poo moment when the bonnet open light comes on !!
  13. Yes seems so, link here about it from 2009 https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?125088-very-late-plate-zed&highlight=late+zed Picture when I did a cambelt on it Jeff
  14. Cheaper to pay out than fight it !
  15. Oh my days ... £175 for a shed of a wiring loom !! Jeff https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300zx-Z32-TWIN-TURBO-Engine-Ecu-Injector-wiring-loom-harness-24011-40p70/202302082879?fits=Car+Make%3ANissan%7CModel%3A300+ZX&epid=1916252557&hash=item2f1a24cf3f:g:lXQAAOSwBRVabyP4

  17. Just going back to your original post and quote " Occasionally my Z32 TT turns over really quickly and will not start " so on days its ok the mapping is correct? that said not a fan of anything done by that creep Noz and defo would get the mapping redone. If it is intermittent it will be something that can fix it self sometimes and connections to sensors or sensors themselves are where I would be concentrating your attention to, did you do an ecu diagnostic? Jeff
  18. Do yourself a favour and just fit it cat back, so much less grief from the aged turbo`s. Jeff
  19. Not an actual 300zx headlight but the spring wire holding the bulb in is the same
  20. No way is it as bad as this was>>
  21. As with any repair there can be hidden damage and there is a fair bit of kit hiding behind there but really this is a straight forward repair with the chance that legs are not damaged even the engine would not need to come out. I mean after all some repairs in the past have been done that were way worse than that when 300zx cars were cheap and easy to find, depends I guess on the rest of the car. Remember this >>>>>>>>>>>>
  22. OMG !! :whistling: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sierra-Nissan-300-ZX-Track-Day-Car-Project/163041911134?hash=item25f60e215e:g:Q~YAAOSw0SJa9KTR it's a Nissan 300zx chassis and 300zx running gear with a 3dr sierra shell cut and welded to it. Say what !!!!!!!!!!
