REVS problem !!
aint we all? Jeff

What to do...
Glad you were not hurt, well physically anyhow, repairing any damage is possible but from experience I would say thats much more serious than it first looks, chassis rails, inner fliches, bulhead may even of moved along with the engine and even transmission tunnel may have changed shape, sad but a gonna in any terms Bad luck chap. both electric seats not working?
Thats bad......but funny. Jeff

Excessive fuel usage.
This excessive fuel use is certainly getting frustrating, as coolq mentioned all of the "normal" issues that can cause this have been covered, the last we checked the tick over fueling was ok but at 2k revs it went horrendously rich at almost 12.5 on the Co bearing in mind this without any load, we suspected the chip and tested it for one of ours FOC and that brought it down by a big margin and also reduced the horrid smell / odour the exhausts give off, kind of sickly throat stinging. Seen this previously with bad camshaft/valve timing but again all of this has been checked...very bizzare. The pic below is the last one we ended up with ignore the red sector decat and 02 sensors not connected, the previous chip had it running wildly high, sadly lost link for pic of this. So why the apparent excessive fuel now??? just thinking about the car itself now coolq, brakes dragging, diff issues?? strange one for sure. Jeff TT

both electric seats not working?
Ok clearly the issue is between the breaker and the seats, the schematic shows the power windows and the seats use the same breaker with the windows feed just been directed through and ignition operated realy so they do not work with the keys out. The breaker is NOT the problem you have a cable or more likely connector fault, has any work been done recently in that area? maybe a loom connector left disconnected? Most times the easiest way to resolve the issue is to run a new cable in to the circuit not working (the seats) you could still retain the breaker in the circuit by running a cable from the drivers seat to the fuse board and pick up on the power out of the breaker as it was originally. As the seat power supply is linked a single cable will supply both seats without an issue. REVS problem !!
Is you talking in text speak or what??????? are you a teenager???? The issue you have is most likely caused by basic engine set up or a failed auxillary air valve. Basic tick over speed is perhaps too low and the aav struggling to recover in time when the throttle is shut quickly. With the yellow pug disconnected from the aav (back of engine battery side) see what the tickover speed is and if required raise it slightly by adjusting the base idle screw on the side of the same uinit (facing the battery) anti-clock wise is to raise the revs and clock wise to lower th base idle speed, then plug the yellow pug back in and it should settle down, if the issue is still there its likely the aav is faulty. Anyone know how to change the reversing switch?
Ok this is not easy with the gearbox in as it is recessed, also it largely depends upon what exhaust you have fitted, its worth lowering the gearbox a few inches to help access. The old switch cables can be cut off flush and a deep socket then will fit and undo the switch, of course the new switch cannot have the cables cutt off so tighten in by hand and then with a crow foot spanner it can be nipped up. Expect it to be time consuming and fiddly, not a nice job on the floor, much better on a 2post ramp. Good luck Jeff Jeff

Insurance total loss
Well to put you out of your misery it was £2k which I was very surprised at but thrilled for our customer, he is made up as he thought he was on route for £400 to £500! Really cannot understand how this works but glad for this chap as he was looking at scrapping it with the MOT coming up and the work required to get it through, good news for us all if the insurance companies are giving better payouts. gearbox questions
The gear lever is disconnected from below so yes you can leave it in,the only sensor difference between UK and Import box is the oil cooler temp sender as you said, no problem left disconnected. Brake cleaner is the best way to clean off the crud. Pivot balls can break, more often though with heavy upgrade clutches still if you replace it, you know its ok, oh and also check the clutch fork for wear, make sure it has a firm grip of the bearing carrier when assembled. Nissan parts V Copy parts
Rear crank oil seal The genuine only parts debate is one that we see proven daily as correct, not least with gaskets and seals. One area we deal with often is rear crank seal, as the gearbox requires removal for this it is often outside many owners abilities by virtue of lack of facilities etc. Lately we have seen a trend with new or nearly new seals leaking and in almost all cases these are non genuine parts. Not often we have time to photo this particular issue but an opportunity came up today and you can see in the pictures below the different shape and size between non and genuine crank seals. What you cannot see is the feel of the materials used on the non genuine seal, very weak in comparison to the Nissan part and not of good quality. There are full engine gaskets sets available on ebay and they are made of the same stuff, these kits are sometime less than £50 for a full engine set and in comparison to £250 for a genuine set its easy to see why these sets look attractive but in the long term they are not good value for money and could potentially end up costing more than using the genuine parts in the first place. Tyre surprise!
Rear end instability and general poor traction was a passing comment when this particular zed was dropped for an MOT, tyre condition was discussed and the owner was happy with the tyres and that the tread level was good and thought maybe some wear in the suspension was to blame. Later when on the ramp the cause of the poor traction was clear, the tread on the rear tyres was almost completely gone, except for the outside edge, the bit visible when glancing from above, giving the impression all was ok. Of most worry was one tyre had exposed metal cords that had started to part from the rubber, a potential blow out waiting to happen, the owner was shocked and somewhat embarrassed gave immediate ok to fit new tyres, a check of the suspension and steering parts cleared them of any faults, the inner edge wear been due to lowered suspension combined with over pressure. The importance of clear and accurate tyre checks cannot be stressed enough, with zeds been so low its so easy to make this mistake. Jeff TT

Z32 na diff
Shiming a diff is basically a method by which you add small shims to reduce the backlash in a worn out diff to get extra life out of it, not really a good road car idea, good if you want to do drifting, but too tight and it will hop like a kangaroo when low speed parking etc. Jeff TT
