  1. Copied from help & advice 1) Ecu plug damaged from bad fitting. Unfortunately as it was so badly mishapen the only way to get it to fit was to split the connector into the three parts so it would connect correctly, later the whole plug will need replacing. 2) No power to the coil packs due to failed ignition circuit 3) No fuel pump due to faulty relay circuit. 4) Faulty PTU. Of the 2 supplied one completey dead the other one failed output 5) Fuel feed and return mixed up (Big up to Jamie for sorting this one) 6) Det sensor and variable valve solenoid plugs mixed up 7) Cable fault on det sensor So runs and revs now. 2. Thats the correct way to fit them, so they can be checked through the wheel easier, they are designed to cause a squeal sound when the pad is worn, personally thats too low for me and prefer to be able to check before then. Jeff TT
  3. No not me !! Jeff TT
  4. 20 manual conversions done............ who`s this then? From his feedback he works on Supra`s and 4 x 4 and lives in the west country, has only one feedback as a seller but enough work on to do 20 conversions any guesses, if I am right I have some cracking pics of at least 3 of those conversions....multi ebay identities perhaps :x: Tasty workshop or what :tt2: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/300zx-Manual-Conversion-Kit-/140522134879?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20b7c59d5f Jeff TT
  5. According to the ask mid site G255 TUF: is NOT on the Motor Insurance Database today Jeff TT
  6. Common sign of a failed auto box  the gear selection is usually good but the third speed clutch has failed which is usually due to contamination, infrequent fluid changes been the most common culprit. Jeff TT
  7. That is amazing, can`t even start to think how claustrophobic that would feel but WOW !! Jeff TT
  8. The n/a alternator has a slightly lower output, a tt one will fit an n/a no problem, the other way around is not so advisable due to the lower output, having said that in the real world it would very likely be ok. Jeff TT

  10. Check the sensor at the rear of the diff, quite common for the cables to break free and be touching the case which brings the light on, also there can be issues with the light coming on when there are fuseboard problems but that tends to also bring on the lights alert. Jeff TT
  11. LOTS!!! Yes in tomorrow morning and a busy one to boot!! need to have a chat anyway. Jeff TT
  12. The rear steering wear is usually caused by the hicas arms, these are service replacement parts, there are also two outer hub bushes that the hicas arms connect to and these can wear too. The hicas arms are the easier option to change on a DIY basis, the outer hub bushes if required are a little harder and you may prefer to leave them to a garage or mate with a ramp, either way not the end of the world. 15. Ok the auto box is a three speed with overdrive, so effectively 4 speed however it also has torque lock up which is an extra reduction in the torque fluid slip this can be felt as a 5th change. The ratio`s are not the same between auto and manual 3rd and 3rd in fact when rolling roading an auto it is done in drive with overdrive switched off to maintain a one to one ratio in a manual this is 4th gear, this illustrates the higher gearing on the auto`s part of which is why the turbo`s are designed to spool up differently. From experience of driving all manner of zeds on a daily basis my view is at motorway speeds the engine is at lower revs in an auto for the same road speed in a manual, this averages out at around the same mpg though in the real world. 16. Yes thats it. Jeff TT
  17. Yes its an issue with different wound springs, always ensure the tail of the spring is located at the bottom on the metal stop, the depression in the top rubber will NOT line up so dont try to. When the top rubbers are new they do not have any depression in it only due to the old springs been built up that way, build up the spring and shock, check it against the car to see the oritation of the top mount.
