  1. Two different members HERE are currently in first and second with spookily acurate answers! Jeff TT
  2. Whilst attending to several jobs on a nice zed we could not help but notice the front brakes were not in a good shape. On closer inspection it was clear the pads were done, and more so one side of the caliper what was less clear was how the discs had not been damaged.. was close though, just a heads up to check your brake pad wear, on standard and many other wheels its only a glance through the wheel anyhow, the owner decided to have upgrade discs and pads anyhow which was nice. Jeff
  3. Yes all you need to do is swap two pipe on one side, top and bottom ,and thats it. Jeff
  4. Think you will find you have piped your intercooler in wrong, you have linked your throttles, there should be a cross over when fitting fmc, as the left hand turbo will blow into the right hand throttle and vice versa. This is the reason it cannot rev, the turbo`s are blowing into each other and the throttles are acting on each other. A AND B shouild be linked and not AA and BB Jeff
  5. One of you guys is only 6 filters off the actual figure!!! The Oz guys are gettimng close too. A member on the Oz site has guessed 8 filters off the actual figure, maybe some clever deduction can give you the correct answer. Jeff TT
  6. Every box has a new filter in, no trickery going on guys, the chaps on the Oz site are getting close. Jeff
  7. Yeh! the right hand side started to wave a little on their own so took the pics real quick! Jeff
  8. Under a tenner at Halfords. Jeff
  9. Ok, well you could try adding a gearbox treatment. Jeff
  10. Yes your just confirming the diagnosis matey, do you know what mileage was on the gearbox? Jeff
  11. Posted on the Oz forum now so come you Brits!! Jeff TT
  12. Can`t get the staff these days....lol Jeff
  13. Some wackey guess`s keep them coming. Jeff
  14. Yes right..... lol Jeff
  15. Was done in my lunch time honest! Jeff
  16. Can see some peeps are thinking outside of the box with the small numbered guesses, I was not been that clever! .... was I ? Jeff
  17. Well it was going to be a model of the Pyramids at Giza but could not get the slaves to do that! Jeff
  18. If your talking about using the standard recirc as an atmospheric dump valve then no it will not work the standard recircs are designed to be wide open at idle when the vacuum in the intake is high and this is what acts on the recirc actuator diaphram, the air leak caused by this will cause the engine to stall at idle, only piston type dump valves will work on a zed and only worth fItting to manuals. Jeff TT
  19. Think you guys have missed the point, the noise stops when the pedal is depressed, this is when the bearing is under load, what has stopped spinning is the first motion shaft into the gearbox, the noise therefore is the gearbox bearing, a common problem on many cars, some manufacturers even suggest a small amount of noise at idle from the first motion shaft bearing is acceptable. Jeff TT
  20. Stock taking is never the most thrilling job but to lighten the task I though of a little guessing game and so stacked our oil filter stock and took a few pics. The challenge guys is to guess how many Nissan 300zx filters there are, I have given some different angles to help you calculate, hypothesise ( guess ) or use some wild mathematical formular to find the answer. Note: I have placed a non disclosed number of filters out of sight behind one of the boxes, just to give everyone a chance, I will reveal the amount at the end, so a guess could get it right or count them and then guess whats behind the box, closest guess get a £10 into their paypal account and a free oil filter, runner up gets a filter. Ok get working and post your guesses, will close this Sunday night! Jeff TT
  21. Well done matey.... improvise, adapt and overcome Jeff
  22. My thoughts exactly but can only advise the owner was his decision... Yeh the belt saturation was particularly bad, of course this will compromise the belts integrity and jumping /slipping /snapping are all possibilities. Jeff
  23. Easy to say I know but see if there is a kerb edge and drive the car up on to it carefully to get some room underneath then just cut the air con and power steering belt off and fit the alternator belt, the aircon you dont need at the moment, the steering will be hard but you should be able to get home at least. Jeff
  24. No damage thankfully, removed the unit and fitted a new one piece propshaft, the leak was due to a dodgy cooler pipe ove the top of the diff, quite how the end cap was not noticed is a mystery, the zed has had a lot of work done some years ago at a defunct 300zx garage in Leicester ( sticker on engine ) no idea if they did the prop though. Jeff
