  2. Seconded...... …..And such a shame I could not make this one :sad: Beaulieu is one of the best car shows in the calendar - glad you all had a good one - I will be there next year though:cool:
  3. Agreed - I like it a lot...:thumbup:
  4. Nice article Mike - thanks for sharing mate....:thumbup:
  5. Agreed Bri….. :sad: Hope you and Christine are well though mate.... Must catch up soon :cool:
  6. Many happy returns Russ - hope you have a great day mate....:happybday: Richard:thumbup:
  7. Nice...:wink: Been pretty pants here all day - still warm though, but drizzly and grey :sad: Up until earlier this afternoon I was still up for this - but three recent weekends away, almost in succession, have caught up with me; so with regret, I have to pull out of this one. Sorry folks - this is usually the best show of the year, but sadly not for me this time. Have a good one though...:clover:
  8. I do indeed mate.... Gordon Brown was in the same position when he succeeded Tony Blair - he rode on the crest of the new popularity wave too. The press dubbed it the "Brown Bounce" but then he bottled it in that autumn and decided against calling an election - probably rightly so! We often forget that in this country we don't vote for the PM, we vote for our local MP and the party we prefer in a general election. So I agree mate - let's hope things turn out right this time around. Otherwise the British pubic will fall further out of love with our political system!!
  9. And another thank-you for your support from me mate!! ATB Richard:cool:
  10. Yup - that's today's politics....:sad::lol:
  11. Good question - and you're right; only time will tell.... Theresa May's biggest downfall, was to call a general election that most of the public didn't want. She was ill-advised, riding on the crest of a new popularity wave and simply did not lead an effective campaign. She should by rights have secured a stronger majority - but said ill advice, complacency and failure to address key issues during that poor campaign, led to her support crumbling away in the last crucial days leading up to polling day.
  12. Boris is probably glad he didn't get the job three years ago.... To be honest, whoever succeeded David Cameron was really on a hiding to nothing; it was a poisoned chalice. Nonetheless I still agree with you Andrew; although I did initially feel optimistic when Theresa May took the job, as I was hoping for "Iron Lady Mk2." Sadly that did not happen - for whatever reason - but this time the government (and Boris) has a second chance to put things right.... :clover:
  13. Yup - forgot about that one Lee.....:cool:
  14. Nice one Dave - glad you got it sorted mate....:thumbup:
  15. Sadly you're right on that bit Si - apostrophe aside :wink: Most are now just self-serving career politicians, who have had no real life experience yet think they know best. Only time will tell, yet I remain optimistic - if only because Boris is the best hope of keeping Corbyn and Farage at bay!!
  16. A sad loss.... I loved him in The Hitcher back in the 1980s - the Guinness adverts; and that gangster fellow in Smallville…. RIP sir:sad:
  17. I am going along with this too.... I do concede that Si has a point about David Cameron. He should not have staked his political career on Brexit; granted, he promised and delivered a referendum, but he should have remained impartial and, as PM, stepped in to clean up the mess whichever way the public voted. Brexit is not (or rather should not be) an embarrassment, though. Fact is, the public voted for it, despite the narrow majority, so it's morally right that the government delivers it. Boris, I think (and hope), will surprise us all. Granted, he has failed to rule out a "no deal" Brexit - but so would I. Not for a minute would I contemplate that, though - you can't reveal your hand in the negotiations. If the EU thinks Boris will walk away, they may be more inclined to reach an amicable deal. It's a bit like Corbyn publicly saying he'll never use nuclear weapons - truth is, no sane world leader would - but in saying so, you are inviting your enemies to attack, safe in the knowledge you won't defend your country. Fingers crossed, Boris has matured; and can unite this great country once more....:clover:
  18. Great news Craig - glad to hear they fixed the problem mate...:thumbup:
