  1. I agree Gary... …..But selfishly I have taken advantage; and ordered the driver's side door glass. The window looks in much better shape than mine - and the blue UK spec glass is getting harder to come by :wink: Thanks for the link Andrew :thumbup:
  2. LOL - but I agree with you Steve...!
  3. Awesome Zed, Marty.... And a well deserved win :thumbup:
  4. Yup - Danny is selling a nice white UK spec with 74k miles.... Good price too:wink:
  5. LOL - yup; what they said...:biggrin:
  6. Good idea - I always forget to do that.....! Hmmm - another good idea; might have to try that as well.... If I ever decide to dress up my engine bay. Although I have started to tidy a few little bits under there:wink:
  7. Agreed - I mean the E-type is still a pretty fast car. However by modern standards it is slow, handles poorly and the less said about the brakes, the better. But the E-Type has attained that serious investible classic status; and because of its age and iconic reputation, none of that matters. The 300zx is, whilst 30 years old, still a relatively modern car in many peoples' eyes; which is why it's judged by modern standards. Give it another 30 years - if there are any Z32s left - and who knows....:lol:
  8. I do believe that Steve...! Again, people are mis-informed; as they often confuse it, performance and dynamically-wise with the Z31 - which was just that by the time the Z32 came out! Poor marketing by Nissan, there, in retaining the "300zx" moniker. Still not terribly slow by modern standards either; albeit it will be out-gunned by a modern hot hatch in a B-road blast. That said, a stock TT will still have to work hard against a big-engine modern German TDI in the autobahn 60-100mph dash. The torque of those 3.0 litre Audi/BMW/Merc twin turbo 6s pretty impressive!!! Agree entirely! Body issues aside - which I am only too aware of, having had my sills rebuilt last year - mine has been reliable too. The Zed is still my first choice when it comes to holidays and I have never had any reliability concerns before setting off to Cornwall for a week. It gets driven "properly" each time :wink: and, despite its appetite for fuel and rear tyres, does the job without issue :biggrin: I'm under no illusion as to whether it's an investment though. At the moment, it's a hobby; I still love the car - and the attention it receives whenever I do take it anywhere. I love driving it and being a part of this, albeit rapidly dwindling, community. If it does gain value and investible classic status in the future, that's a bonus. Will I cash in on it though? Probably not - as the kind of car I might replace it with will have moved on too; keeping the cost to change still the same. If I sold mine in the next few years, I'd most probably replace it with another…:cool:
  9. Good points all round - and I'd like to add that we could also be seeing a seasonal fluctuation in prices too. These cars haven't hit the "investible classic" status, so could still get caught up in the seasonable drop in all sports car prices. Demand for sports cars becomes low at this time of year - and rises for 4x4s :wink: My car trader friend is selling Julia's old Evoque for me; and he actually put the price UP by £1000 last week, to keep it in line with the market. Whilst conversely, he is dropping prices on things like Boxsters, MX5s etc.
  10. D'oh - I should have checked on here on Friday.... As I thought it was today...:oops: Sorry folks :sad:
  11. Nice one Gary - I did mine a couple of years ago, for the same reason as you!
  12. Nice one Art - and as said in another thread, thanks for your support mate...:thumbup:
  13. Same here...…:thumbup:
  14. Hi and welcome to the club mate!! Lovely Z31 you have there...:thumbup:
  15. About time....:wink::thumbup:
  16. Yup - I have to agree mate.... :wink:
  17. In a nutshell...…:wink::thumbup:
  18. Yup - I concur...:thumbup:
  19. Good question Steve.... The whole traders situation does need a review; as some traders just cannot justify the cost - even though we reduced the subs, depending on what the trader wants for the privilege. However with regards Japspeed, I don't think they supply many 300zx parts these days - their exhaust system has long since been NLA; and I haven't seen them selling 300zx radiators anywhere these days.
  20. I agree - we do our best given the circumstances, not to mention embracing the phenomenon that is Facebook, which is why we brought in the sub-committee last year. To inject new life into the club. Still, we remain reliant on our members though; hence we have the AGM, so that ideas can be put forward and shared with each other....
  21. And congratulations mate..... …...To you, Janine and your new arrival....:clover:
  22. I went to the Kop Hill Climb Festival in my Zed today. Great car show - and only 10 minutes up the road - I can't believe I have never been there before:oops: I reckon I'll participate next year, not to post a fast time, but just for the fun of joining in. No Zed pics today though, but I was in some seriously impressive company on the way in - I mean whenever am I going to see another Senna, actually on the road, again.....:thumbup:
  23. Welcome back - and nice looking Zed you have there...:thumbup:
