  1. Me too - fekking speed limiter   Richard :p
  2. When I was 19 I bought an Astra GTE 2.0. That was way back in 1989 and the car was only 6 months old. I tried to keep things sensible as a nearly new car like that cost me a fair few pennies, especially for a 19 year old but luckily insurance costs hadn't gone silly quite yet. I also got carried away a couple of times and had a few near misses, like racing an RS Turbo at almost 130mph on the A12. I was in lane 3, the Rusty Turbo in lane 2. suddenly a van pulls from a slip road straight into lane 2 so rather than brake or swerve back into lane 1  the dagenham dustbin driver just veers into lane 3 in front of me at a good 20mph less  Too close for comfort..... But I still wrecked the Astra after a couple of months. I was driving sensibly at 60 (national speed limit a road). I went round a sweeping bend only to see (another  ) RS Turbo on the wrong side of the road coming towards me. I just swerved towards the roadside, lost it hit a ridge and launched the car into a patch of trees, whilst sliding out of control upside down. Luckily I walked away without a scratch  Richard :)
  3. I believe so too. I had my cambelt changed when I first got my ZX only for the water pump to give up 3 months later  Luckily my warranty coughed up for the waterpump so I didn't have to pay out all that labour again  Virtually all the front of the engine came off again but the cambelt remained untouched that time. Richard :)
  4. Go for it Si. The smooth look is pretty good but the 99 spec rear spoiler is bay far the best rear option I've seen on a ZX. IMO of course. Richard :)
  5. Just what the forum should be - a great place for help, advice, discussions etc etc on the subject of ZXs, computers, women (but not necessarily in that order) and so on...... .....and above all, having a good laugh  Just when you think life has become too serious, up pops a classic thread like this :p Gotta love it here....... Richard
  6. Needs doing at 60k miles. Ryan at Ztech does the belts, waterpump and funny little hoses all in for around £400-ish IIRC Richard
  7. Exactly, although if anyone is stupid enough to get done for a drink-related offence the points remain on your licence for 10 years :smash: Richard
  8. Hey Si, Big day tomorrow then  I got mine from Amber Performance before I was a member here. But they were a similar price to the traders here anyway. I have seen them going for £14 on Ebay - you may be lucky. Otherwise Z centre or Smithy as the others said. IIRC Smithy does a good price delivered. Richard
  9. Thanks for the help everyone - all finished now  Yet another reason to love this forum  Richard :)
  10. I wuz going to post that too
  11. Nice one Vijay - chap in Comet was pretty helpfull about spec of new PC etc but all he could suggest was a network cable and so far this has not worked as I thought it should.... Richard
  12. You're not training to become a hairdresser are you :p Richard
  13. Hi all Just bought a new PC to replace decrepit old laptop. Question is, how do I transfer all my old data - mainly photos and documents etc - to the new one easily. Bear in mind, old PC has no CD recorder and new one has no floppy disc drive. Could I use a home network and link them together by cable, then extract info from the old one? If so, how do I do it? Suppose I could use USB pens but would probably need a dozen ;) Also need to copy email address book...... Any thoughts/ideas welcome. Thanks, Richard
  14. When you get the summons make sure you attend court. Police must record everything they say and you should get a lawyer to put the fekker on the stand and quiz him about it. If you can prove he deliberately drove like a twat to "make you take the bait" you may get let off. RAC/AA provide legal assistance FOC to members. Good luck mate Richard
  15. Looks fantastic mate - love that colour  Richard :D
  16. Exactly - this behaviour from m-way piglet is inexcusable IMO. It should be treated like "Entrapment" in criminal cases and non-admissible as evidence in court. Fekking \/\/ankers  Richard
  17. Common problem on earlier Zs mate Richard
  18. Heh heh, so does mine :o
  19. That is your best option mate ;) Too much work & expense to convert a £5000 car IMHO Richard :D
  20. That's where I got mine from :hyper:
  21. Hey Si You could also try http://www.efllimited.com Richard :smw:
  22. It was one of the blue-coated jobbies with built-in holder for the heater control pod - Halfords didn't have anything like it ;) Richard :o
  23. UK Zs do not have front fogs anyway...... ;)
  24. Looks very nice mate, And I do like those wheels :hyper: Richard :smw:
  25. Not as many as that infamous Trinity and Storm thread a couple of months back ;) Richard
