One day a man meets God, who say's to the suprised chap, "I will answer any two questions about life etc you want." "OK said the man, why did you make women so attractive?" "So that you would love her" replied God. "But why the feck did you make her so stupid?" "So that she would love you!!" replied God. I didn't get that either  Richard

NZR - song identifier?
Anyone remember the number you dial on your mobile, then hold the phone up while a song is playing, then you get a text back telling you what the song is? I knew it a while back but cannot for the life of me remember what to dial now. Must be senility setting in........ Cheers Richard

Bargain oil change.......
Hey all For those of you not mechanically minded or, like me, you're lazy and don't like to get your hands dirty, then you could do a lot worse than get down to your local ATS  If you don't run a seriously modded ZX and are happy with 5w40 fully synthetic oil, ATS can do the oil & filter change using 4 litres of Shell Helix Ultra for £34.99. Yes, £34.99!!! Now I've always used Shell Helix Ultra and usually buy it from Shell forcourts for my local garage to use in the service. But it costs £39.99 to buy 4 litres....... .....So there, ATS throw in a new filter and do the work all for less than you can buy the oil. Richard

thinking of an 300zx
Hi Jon, Welcome to the forum! As you've entered a 300ZX site I'm sure you'll get a totally impartial view of what car is better  :nono: Ahem! Anyway, the ZX is essentially a reliable car if looked after but as with any high performance car of 10-15 years old things will go wrong and they are usually costly to put right. Buy a good one though and you will be pleased with it. UK cars were the TT targa 2+2 only imports have more choice (SWB, N/A, etc). Stats for the TT are: Insurance group is 18 Power 280-300bhp 0-60 in 5.5, 0-100 in 14.5 top end restricted to 155 on UK cars Unless the suspension is shagged (and theses are heavy cars remember) handling is fine. Not as sharp as the Supra but more involving and better feel. Grip can vary so much depending on what tyres are fitted - fit Goodyears or the like and cornering ability/stability can be transformed. Running costs can be high as the ZX has a healthy appetite for fuel and rear tyres but no more than a Supra The ZX is better looking of course and better value at the moment but the Supra is slightly quicker (UK Soops can do 0-100 in 12) and easier to tune for big BHP Drive both and make your choice ;) Richard

Golf R32
A ZX does it in the low 5's IIRC. Even the 3000GTO is quicker 30-70 than that R32
-
Golf R32
The R32 would only be quicker to about 30, and just a nose at that. A TT ZX can hit 60 in over 1 second quicker. The R32 is still a pretty heavy car. Its the same engine as an audi TT, which gets whupped by the 350Z and we all know how the ZX compares to that  As for the comparison betwen a Mk1 GTi and an R32, there isn't one. The old GTi would be toast and no mistake as they took over 9 seconds to hit 60. The top gear test was simply Mk1 GTi v Mk5 GTi 1.8T Richard :)

Oil Advice and Recommendations
Should be ok as it's the minimum recommended oil. It is used by Nissan and Zworld. However a fully synth is better for a turbo engine, especially one that generates so much heat and power. Richard

300zx salary
Apart from the actual purchase of the car, the running costs must be in line with something like a Jag XK8. But salary isn't so important, so long as you have a good ZX and ensure it is looked after. You must have a slush fund of £3000 just in case something breaks, although the ZX is essentially a reliable car even the best ones are getting old now. If you earn less than £25k (or £30k in the home counties) and have a mortgage then don't buy one IMHO Richard :)

National Rail Enquires....bloody joke
You'll be lucky  When I was a tax specialist in an accounts practice I always had this trouble when calling the Inland Revenue. FFS these guys are dealing with everyone's income tax but are still yet to master the English language. Just another problem with Blair's Britain IMO Rant over Richard

Real or fake?
Now there's the real issue. A Ferrari is out of reach of most people so one can understand why there are replica kits available to convert "normal" cars into exotica lookalikes. Same thing with the Lambo Countach kit-car. BUT, what sad fekker wants to build a replica BMW when they are as common/cheap as pigeon crap and just about every twat and his dog owns one????? To quote Sir Clint of Eastwood (The Rookie), "He want's his @rsehole removed" Richard :smash:

Cheapest place to get clear indicators?
Hey mate, it depends on what time. I normally finish around 4 on a Friday if I can last that long....... My MD got back from his hols monday PM, came in at 1 Tuesday and left at 3. Then he came in this morning around 9.30 and around 11.45 told me he was taking the rest of the week off as it was too much for him coming back to work so soon........... So maybe I'll just take an early day to compensate for the stress of running the company in his abscence...... I'll let you know, Richard

Checking auto gear oil
