  1. Cool, another local Z owner - although sadly not for much longer if you sell yours. I've parked next to it a couple of times and it looks a nice example. Good luck with the sale, Richard :smw:
  2. Splummmph
  3. I've just renewed my RAC cover..... ....Solution 4 (roadside, recovery, home and replacement car/hotel) for both Julia and I (person based) at £103 including 30% discount from my credit card company. Sounded like a good deal as the full cost was £184, but I got the no call out discount too. Much better than the AA  Richard
  4. Don't Toyota also still do this with "Club Toyota"? They always used to which is why I switched to the RAC from the AA 12 years ago....... Richard
  5. If you park on the zig-zags approaching a Zebra crossing then you are now liable for 3 points as well as the fine mate. Richard :(

Just tell 'em to feck off. Fecking freaks not eating meat. And they always look ill don't they? Richard :D
  7. I found something far more annoying than call centres in India....... ........When I was a tax manager in an accountancy practice it REALLY pissed me off when I phoned the Inland Revenue and got through to someone who could barely speak English. Their "equal opportunities" policy obviously went too far in for the sake of PC that the good old civil service couldn't make sure their staff had a grasp of our language before giving them jobs answering peoples' tax queries :headvswal Good old Blair's Britain :xxx: Richard :wack:
  8. Me too (dinner as in lunch time as it is known in the South :D ) At least I try to, however I always find a pack of choccie digestives in the cupboard at work and help myself to a couple with a my Earl Grey in the morning. Failing that, someone always goes out and buys a mega pack of dougnuts from the supermarket. Hmmmmmmmm Doughnuts  I only ever eat brekkie in the hotel on holiday when I don't have to bother making it myself but even then I can't manage the full works first thing in the morning. Richard :smw:
  9. Hi Stuart, I doubt if even the worst (women :wack: ) driver could feck a clutch in 2000 miles  maybe the new clutch was from a faulty batch or something. Either way I reckon any repair/replacement should be FOC from the garage who did the original work. After all most reputable garages guarantee their work for a few months or few thousand miles. Good luck, Richard :smw:
  10. That's what I thought too mate, BUT I have read on here that blue smoke is only emitted when oil is burned in the combustion chambers. If oil is burned in the exhaust (ie from turbo seals) it supposedly can cause white smoke  I'll leave that answer to the experts.... Richard :smw:
  11. Hi Eliza Anywhere near Beaconsfield? - I sometimes see a white convertible in Sainsburys car park there. Is that you per chance? Richard
  12. Amen brother :nono: ;) Richard
  13. I have to agree with this too Sarge :nono: I did watch it from about 8pm though. What's all the fuss in the papers today about how good Robbie was?? He was shite - he didn't sing much at all, he left that to the audience FFS Slash was awesome though but the best was at the end - The Who and Pink Floyd   For guys in their 60s they've still got it! Richard
  14. Don't get me started on this one Jay :p Happened to me all over the West Country last month.... Virtually everyone (and there were a fair few :D ) I overtook in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall whilst on hols either flashed, hooted or made other gestures as I blasted past them. I overtook on national speed limit roads safely, quickly (goes without say in the Z) and didn't cut in or brake afterwards - I just carried on my merry way  Then again maybe it could have been respect for the ZX (apart from the "gestures" ;) ) but it still baffled me - surely those old c**ts don't want me sitting on their tale???? Richard  PS Happy birthday Jay!
  15. Seriously though, had a good tussle with a Pork 928s4 early one morning (private road of course). We both booted it at the same time from about 40mph but I was first to 100, then 150 :hyper: Unfortunatley the ZX still has the 155mph restrictor so mr Porsche driver could go on to 170 :mac1: My fave is still a bronze 350Z - haven't those guys seem Top Gear  :D Still the driver now gives me a nod whenever I see him and doesn't try it anymore...... Richard
  16. I know the feeling mate, The other day I left the Shell garage in Amersham (in the ZX), entered a mini-roundabout and one of Thames Valley's finest in an Omega almost took out my left side because he didn't fancy giving way to his right!! I carried on past the station at exactly 30mph with PC Piglet soooo close to my rear bumper that I could'nt see his headlights, only the insects on his windscreen!! All the way down the hill on Station Road I drove with my foot on the brake to maintain 30mph, occasionally pressing it a bit harder when the car hit 32  As he was so close I could see the look on his face as he got more pissed off  Now if I'd done that to an unmarked police car you'd be watching me on one of those reality TV shows "....tailgating driver gets ticket for careless driving...." Fekkers, and they wonder why they are losing the respect of the public  :slap:  Richard
  17. Is that so Roy? I'd have thought 2 smaller turbos would give less lag than one big one but the single big one would give more BHP at the top end?? Richard
  18. Morning Si and welcome to the forum. As everyone has said already, get a good one and you'll have very little trouble as they are generally reliable cars. But as with any car of 10-15 years old, especially a high performance car, you must expect some things to give up. I've not heard anything bad about the rear diff  Engines are pretty tough as are the turbos but the latter's life expectancy is down to use and servicing intervals. If the turbos are properly warmed up before hard use, then left to cool down properly and you change the oil every 3-4K miles using good synthetic oil they should last 120K+ miles no problem. The weak spot in the turbos are the rear oil seals. Take your time and look for a good one - buy the best you can afford as a cheap ZX will cost you much more in repairs sooner than you think! Look in the cars for sale section here - buying from a forum member is always a good idea as it will have been looked after properly. Good luck Richard
  19. Nice bird there  Richard  :p
  20. Send Mac1 a PM with this to55er's name. Let him do the name and shame if you still get no joy. We don't need these fekkers on the forum ripping us off. Shame as everyone I've met from here so far have been a decent bunch. Richard :)
  21. According to the picture on the Ebay link posted here a couple of days back it was an Elise..... ......so no great loss then  Richard :nono:
  22. Like it Jay  Good to see Gayle is getting better. All the best, Richard :)
  23. As Dave says, all Europe-bound Z32s were run an max speed on the dyno before leaving the factory. This was supposedly in preparation for higher speeds in Europe, particularly on the German Autobahns. Richard :)
  24. Just flush with any cheap engine oil - safer than a flushing oil IMO. Richard :)
