  1. Hey Tony, Many happy returns for yesterday mate:hyper: Richard:cool:
  2. Always good to hear from one of us who has actually seen the car  And as for the price - it would be good for all of us if such cars were commanding the money.......:p Richard
  3. Brilliant....... TBH I don't care about the fuel economy of a ZX - even with today's prices - after all a 3 litre 300bhp twin turbo engine in a car designed 18 years ago is not going to win any friends in the green brigade:p Just drive it and enjoy it......:hyper: Richard:cool:
  4. It looks OK but it still a Laguna, albeit a Coupe. I prefer the 350z; the Laguna 3.5 v6 will only have 240bhp compared to over 300 for the current Z. Plus he 350Z was built from the ground up as a sports coupe whereas the Laguna is more like an adaptation of the saloon car. Much like years ago, the Calibra was just a Cavalier underneath - hence it couldn't hold a candle to the Celica or 200sx at the time....:nelson: Richard:cool:
  5. Me too...... ......and I have seen it before, although not on here!! Richard:cool:
  6. The bloke across the road to me had one in that copper colour before I got mine - I loved his, hence I bought one. He was a mechanic and fitted the Webbers and Janspeed exhaust for me:hyper: You're right - they were great motors..... Richard:cool:
  7. Exactly - and the press just wind everybody up into a frenzy, telling us supplies are running low, just to make us all panic:mad: B@stards:mad::mad: Richard:rolleyes:
  8. Yes - it was the penultimate shape like the Mk1 Cav coupe; in sapphire blue with blue velour seats and steering wheel with 3 metal spokes that had the holes in them. If that makes sense...? I think the 1.8 with tartan was the basic version of the later shape Manta.........that Berlinetta may have been the poor man's GT/E?? Richard:cool:
  9. I agree with the above statements........ .........everyone wants to earn a fortune for doing anything amounting to nothing nowadays - I call it the "Big Brother Generation Syndrome" after reading how much a talentless bint like Jade Goody is now worth:eek: If they worked for me I'd sack the lot of them and employ some people who would be glad to have their jobs. Richard
  10. Way back in 1987 at the tender age of 17: 1976 Mk1 Cavalier 1.6GL saloon 1978 version of the above 1977 Mk1 Cavalier 1.9GLS sports hatch Then in 1988: 1979 Opel Manta Berlinetta - twin Webbers, Janspeed etc. Excellent car! 1984 Cavalier Mk2 1.8 SRi 1986 Cavalier Mk2 1.8 SRi Another year later: 1988 Astra 2.0 GTE 8v (fook knows how I afforded it at the time:rolleyes:) 1988 Mk3 cavalier 2.0 CDi 1961 Rover 100 P4 (classic car - was my dad's, he gave it to me when he stopped driving) Then from the 1990s onwards: 1989 Mk3 Cavalier 2.0 CDi auto 1991 Mk3 Cav 2.0 CDi auto 1992 Ford Scorpio 2.0 saloon (crappiest car ever. 6 months old and back to Ford every week:headvswal) 1992 Mk3 Cav 2.0 CDi manwell 1994 Toyota Carina E GTi 2.0 173 bhp. Fast, under-rated saloon car :p 1974 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 - kept it as a classic car for 5 years until it broke 1991 Toyota Supra Mk3 turbo auto 1992 Mk3 Supra turbo 3.0 targa GT (Import special edition - it was KITT!) 1991 300zx turbo auto UK spec (Still owned & best of the lot):bow: 1999 Toyota Rav-4 2.0 GX 3-door 1999 Mercedes SLK 230 kompressor auto 2002 Toyota Rav-4 2.0 NRG (Still got - Julia mainly uses it; quite fun!) 2006 Mercedes SLK 350 auto with paddle shift. Daily driver - superb car:D I think that's it...... Richard:cool:
  11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1998-NISSAN-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO-TARGA-MANUEL_W0QQitemZ220239716591QQihZ012QQcategoryZ18238QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem A nice late spec TT manual by the look of it....... Richard:cool:
  12. Yes but £15k? Mind you, if I saw an absolute mint UK spec manual with leather etc and under 20k miles in totaly original condition I may probably buy it. But I'd seriously doubt I'd pay more than £10k for it though........... Richard:cool:
  13. I like it Si...... .....that's so subtle that I almost didn't notice it! Much better than sticking loads of shite over the dash:cool: Richard:bow:
  14. Definately not.........:hurl: But dark red leather combined with the original black dash looks good:p Richard:nono:
  15. Oilman knows his stuff mate! Most high quality synthetic oil is more than suitable for extended oil changes nowadays. It can be less beneficial changing it too early as the oil doesn't get the chance to "work properly" if it is replaced every 3k miles. I am happy to leave my ZX for at least 6k miles, or annually now as I don't do the mileage anymore. Richard:cool:
  16. I fear you are right, my friend:mad: Richard :headvswal
  17. Interesting thread, Guy - particularly the "name and shame!!" But from your list, price is not necessarily a good indicator; after all Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 is every bit as expensive as Mobil-1 or Castrol Edge, yet it is only a hydrocracked oil! I'll have to reconsider what I buy in future then:nono: So basically every branded "synthetic" oil from a "quality" petrol station (except Esso/Mobil) is not the real deal? That's a real eye opener......... .......and no wonder Shell is making money hand over fist:rolleyes: Richard:cool:
  18. Brilliant:hyper: I hope it taught the little fooker a harsh lesson....... Richard:cool:
  19. I've just read this story - the version I read said "may have been reacting to distress signals" Apparently the so-called experts are baffled as to why the poor dolphins got it so wrong!! Richard:wack:
  20. I think I would too..... .....Bon Jovi are good, and I reckon the concert will be superb, but they aren't what they used to be going on their last few songs. Nickelback are one of the best new rock bands to emerge for a while...:hyper: Enjoy it Athene!! Richard:cool:
  21. Exactly!! All Z32s have this seam - although I can see why some peeps may be worried, reading advice from general car buying guides about "cut & shuts":p Richard:cool:
  22. I use their "Orange Oil" wipes in matt finish (about £3-ish from Halfords). It smells nice, cleans the dash and does not leave any sticky residue behind. Above all, it leaves a nice matt finish. I use these in all my cars, they are quick and easy and the result looks good; plus the dash is less likely to pick up static dust afterwards! Richard:cool:
  23. D'oh! I didn't read all the way down before replying............:nelson: Richard:p
  24. Depends whether you want an out and out sports car, a comfortable cruiser or a combination of both. If it's just a racer then the Elise is the way to go. However for a bit of comfort and practicality then the S2000 would be better. I would not bother with the Z3 1.9; instead I would go for the Merc SLK 230 kompressor. I used to have one - it was comfortable, quick enough (although not as quick as the Elise or S2000) and you have the luxury of a proper metal roof that folds into the boot at the touch of a button. It didn't cost the earth to run either...... ...................plus you'll find that women will find the SLK the most impressive of the lot!! Richard:cool:
  25. I'd have to say Volvo T5 or BMW 5 series; or alternatively have you thought about a Jag S-type.......? .......and responding to Steve's comment, wouldn't an anto 5 series be worth more than a manual? Executive cars like that are expected to be autos, surely? Richard:cool:
