Has the credit crunch affected you?
Not me personally...... ........at work I have seen orders decrease last month but sales still look pretty healthy for the forseeable future, although it's getting harder to secure large deposits in advance from customers (I work in the disabled access lift industry, where advance payments of up to 90% have been commonplace so far....). It's still do-able though; the sales team just have to negotiate a little harder:slap: Richard:)

low miles!
I couldn't agree more....on both points. Regardless of the mileage a clean straight and rust free UK spec car, whether auto or manual, is worth good money to the right person. Let's hope a few more decent examples start selling for higher prices on Ebay as it surely must have a positive effect on the values of our own cars! Richard:cool:

I need a Skid Pan or somwhere to get used to the Z
That's what I was thinking. When I got my ZX it had brand new Avon ZZ3s all round and to say it was tail happy was an understatement. I quickly replaced them with Goodyear GSD3s followed by Dunlop SP Sport 9000s (when the Goodyears were spent) and what do you know....... .........no grip problems even in the wet:D Richard;)

Classic car insurance
I'm with them as well. Mine is up for renewal in November so hopefully they'll still be ahead of the competition:cool: Richard

Your thoughts on price ....
Amen brother:bow: Richard;)

New Knight Rider Season
I agree Dave...... .....the original was way better - the best 80s TV show ever:tongue: Richard:)

Your thoughts on price ....
Agreed..... ......plus it's a 1998 car as well; you won't find many that new:bow: One word of warning though. If you do buy it and then decide you don't want it in 6 months time, you will struggle to get your money back. There are too many cheap nasty cars on Fleabay etc which puts a lot of people off paying a premium for the best examples. Look at Crotchrocket's car; a clean and tidy low mileage UK spec yet he cannot sell it! If it were me, I'd go and see it. If it's really a tidy R-reg example then £7k would not be unreasonable! But at the price, you buy it to keep it.......;) Richard:cool:

My ZX is running well.........
So true........:D The best option IMO is the stock leather auto shifter from a series 2 car. I bought a mint one for £20 off of AndyZ last year.... Richard;)

Petrol costs ???????????
I heard. And I bet the b@stards instantly raise the cost of petrol in response; despite the "missed" opportunities to reduce the cost at the pumps when crude dropped from $140+ to $90 a barrel!!!:xxx: Richard

My ZX is running well.........
Hey all, I thought I'd start one of these threads as there has not been one for a while!!;) I have driven my ZX virtually every day for the last 9 days and it is running superbly. It sounds great, drives as it should, pulls like a train on demand and the auto 'box operates smootly and responsively. (Plus owing to the weather it's also still clean...........) Perfect!!!:D Come on, let's hear a few more happy ZX stories rather than problems etc.............:p Richard:cool:

Best sleeper car
I agree the T5 is fast and handles pretty well; I've never owned one but I have driven more than a couple as well as having the odd play against one or two....... However a stock T5 is definately not quicker than a stock zx twin turbo or a Boxster S (as opposed to the "normal" boxster), mate! Richard

New 500bhp tuning God found on ebay

Audi 'Chav' Lights.....
Yes, I think it's used on the Focus C-max and Renault Scenic. VW put it on the new Passat as well (but that's obviously not an MPV......). Richard;)

Best sleeper car
I'd have to agree with that:bow:

Dunlop SP Sport - Anyone run on these?
I have to agree - Michelin Pilot Sports are an excellent tyre with very few equals but £900-£1000 is OTT. Even they can be purchased cheaper than that; I'd say £6-700 for all four fitted at the most;) Richard:cool:

Petrol costs ???????????
Welcome to the forum mate.......:) My advice - if you have to ask about how many miles you will get from only £10 then a 300zx is not for you! Think more along the lines of £75 for a fill up - and you really will have to fill the tank otherwise you will be stopping for fuel every 1/2 hour:nono: And you should get around 220-250 miles from your £75 of Shell's finest, depending on your driving. I get that from a UK spec TT auto. Richard

esure insurance help.
Esure is too "mainstream" and most probably will not insure imports. The "personal imports" they refer to will be cars that individuals have purchased new from other contries in Europe; a few years back, it was a lot cheaper to go to Holland or Germany and buy a brand new car. I guess they do not show the 300zx turbo pre-1990 because 1990 was the first year it was sold here in the UK. Spring 1990 I believe; G reg is the oldest UK spec car you will find. You will have to try the more specialist insurers to cover an import; Adrian Flux; Lifesure; Houghtons etc etc. Richard:smw:

Audi 'Chav' Lights.....
No not my thing either......... ........I hate the real deal on the new Audis and the replicas for Corsas etc etc look worse still IMO. Richard;)

Does anyone know this car?
Funkyboogaloo, That's a good option if you are looking for a decent car but don't want the auto mate;) Richard;) PS I'm not on commission.......

Can A Bloke Get Away With Driving An MX5 ?
The MX5 has been billed as the spiritual successor to the MGB Roadster and they weren't gay........;) IMO if it's the right colour (like black) with nice trim and a few subtle mods like some of Si's pictures then I think it's fine. But you must have the bigger engined faster one, not the limp wristed 1.6:p Mk1 cars are probably the best looking but I don't mind the Mk2 - in the right colour they can (read can not do) look like a smaller XK8. Not a bad thing..... ........The Mk3 looks shite, rather like an up-turned boat! And anyway the new MR-2 is the real gay car:o So go for it, they are good cars and you won't look gay. Honest...... ........but then I drive an SLK (but it is the manly 3.5 litre):x: Richard

Air con question?
That's my opinion as well;) Richard:D
