  1. Yes...... ......if you have "onward travel" included in your cover. If your car cannot be repaired at the roadside, you have the car transported to where you like and get the choice of overnight accomodation, train fare or hire car for 48 hours. My old SLK broke down in Cornwall (260 miles from home) last year, the RAC transported the car to my local MB dealers the next working day (it was Saturday) and gave me a brand new Toyota Avensis to drive home in. They even picked the Avensis up at my convenience! Top service IMO:bow:
  2. To correctly compare MPG before and after, judge it by the actual quantity of fuel used and not the cost of it mate........ ........Fill the tank to the brim, reset the trip clock, drive until the light comes on, then re-fill it. Divide the quantity (litres) that goes back into the tank by 4.56 to obtain the number of gallons used; then divide the miles on the trip clock by the gallons figure for your average MPG:p Cost is always varaible but quantity is not;) Richard:cool:
  3. Keep the standard one........ .......cars look much better if everything blends together. Those metal and carbon look things are Max Power montrosities; leave them on chavved up Corsas.........:p Richard:nelson:
  4. Come on guys - it'll never happen! There are just too many classic cars around, some worth £££££s, so any move to do that will inevitably be voluntary and/or applicable to knackered old nails that have no chance of passing another MOT....... Everyone who knows me, knows I would not put any mad idea beyond the comprehension of this government. But this - it's just a story that has gotten out of proportion thanks to the internet....:o Our Zs are safe......... Richard:)
  5. Or sandpaper:eek: I'd have snatched the PC and held on to it until he paid the rent. At least without it, he couldn't los all his money to online poker:p Richard:nono:
  6. It's the other way round...... .....the 2+2 is the long wheel base model and the fuel filler is nearer the back of the car. If you see the filler flap between the dor and the rear wheel, you are looking at a short wheel base car -the 2 seater. This was available in Japan (often imported to the UK) and the USA. As the SWB is slightly shorter therethe fuel tank is nearer the middle of the car; hence the fuel filler being closer to the front! Richard:)
  7. Crapola....
  8. Well done matey:hyper: Richard:cool:
  9. Like most high spec German cars - particularly BMWs - once a newer shape is launched, the older style cars plummet in value....... Richard:)
  10. I see....... .......fekking sports events:rant: Should be kept off of "normal" TV; anyone into football etc will always have Sky Sports and the like so the b@stards controlling TV scheduling should leave well alone........:D Richard:rofl:
  11. On such a nice sunny day, where were you??? Julia and I took a trip out in the Z today, visiting Bodiham and Scotney Castles. All round the south M25 and down the A21 and we didn't see one 300zx. Plenty of 350zs though........ In fact the only 300zx we saw was when we got near home, at Amersham........:wack: Richard;)
  12. As above, around 4.15 this afternoon........ I saw a red UK spec on the A404 coming from the Wycombe direction at the roundabout where it meets the A413. It was turning right towards Amersham/London. I was in the red ZX coming from Amersham turning right onto the A413towards Aylesbury. Anyone? Richard:cool:
  13. That is good news........ .....although I thought I had just read in the latest TG magazine that is was back on 26th October??:wack: Richard:cool:
  14. Sorry to hear that mate:cry: If this twat followed you round Taunton, shouldn't the police have access to CCTV footage for some of your route - I mean our movements are supposedly tracked everywhere now in the Big Brother State:x: As far as the accident, that twat braked hard in front of you and you still managed to stop in time - the old fella who hit you should have been more observant or keeping a safer distance behind you. It's got to be his fault. I hope you get it sorted mate - and I hope your ex calms down after a few days. After all the accident was not your fault; someone drove into you, remember! Good luck, Richard
  15. I have to agree mate:bow: And that is a very tidy UK spec car - a real bargain for anyone looking to buy one! Richard:cool:
  16. True:cool: That brunette is stunning:hyper: Richard
  17. Yes........ ......and no...;) I'm all for enforcing the 30mph limit through urban areas; it's there to reduce accidents, children being hit, noise etc. However, apart from being against the law, there is nothing wrong/reckless/dangerous about driving at 100mph on a clear, dry and empty motor way. Who are you harming? Modern cars and well maintained sports cars (like ours:rolleyes:) are more than capable of handling the speed with the ability to stop/steer etc should the need arise. (NB not a confession - just a theory;))So if I choose to drive to Cornwall, at 7am on a dry, sunny Saturday morning on an empty M4/M5 at 100mph; does that mean "I should not be driving?" I don't think so!!! If it's so dangerous to drive at 100+ why is it still legal in safety conscious Germany? Richard:cool:
  18. I have seen Alex's car and it's deffo a UK spec TT manual.... Richard:)
  19. Crap!! The strip was under water so nothing doing in the 1/4 mile runs. We arrived at 10am to be met with dozens of cars actually leaving.......:nono: .......stayed a couple of hours and then left. So yes you did the right thing!! Still I bought a model 300zx in red for £4.99. I think I'll print up some minature versions of my number plate, stick them on and and it'll be a nice desk ornament!!!:p Richard:cool:
  20. IIRC Zelda has chromed headlights............ Richard:cool:
  21. Have you ever known the rear tyres on a 300zx to last 12000 miles........ Richard:D
  22. Hi to all the membership mods...... .......did we ever get reminders of subs expiring soon - I've been here 5 years and cannot remember....??:o Anyway I have just renewed using the "link" and wow - an instantly updated membership!! Good show guys and gals on the committee:bow: Richard:)
  23. Welcome back Jeff....... ......and I've just noticed my membership has expired:o Richard:)
  24. I have to agree. Mine finally went this year; it "lost" 2nd and 4th gears. My oil was still a healthy pink with no smell, so if your oil is brown-ish then I reckon the 'box is dead. You can buy a 2nd hand one for a couple of hundred pounds but you could be unlucky and that one may not last, leaving you with the same problem a bit further down the road. A manual conversion will cost around £1500 all in. I had mine fully re-built by one of the best auto box specialists in the south east. He also replced the torque convertor; that cost me £1200 all in with an 18 month/18k mile warranty. This guy is good though - he's been in business for years and came highly recommended by another member on here. Richard:smw:
  25. I shall be there on Sunday as well.......:) Richard:cool:
