  1. Hi all, As you may know, Kirbz has had to stand down as NEO and I have stepped in to fill the vacancy on a temporary basis. I guess some of you may be a bit concerned that this trip may not proceed However providing we can get definitive numbers of participants, favoured duration, accommodation arrangements etc; there's no reason it still can't go ahead. I do have a few personal commitments this weekend, so I may not be online as much as usual. But hopefully we can all pull this one together. If you want to discuss anything or offer suggestions please PM me or e-mail me at richardsmith@300zx.co.uk Cheers all, Richard:cool3:
  2. Cheers Kim, And a big thanks to Kirbz for his contribution to the club so far; I hope all is well with you Mike! Richard:)
  3. Good to hear from you Leigh! And I'm glad you're on the road to recovery. Good luck with the band too - I hope it works our for you mate. ATB Richard:cool2:
  4. Lovely car - but I'd not pay £17k for it. However it will be good for the 300zx as a whole if this one does achieve its price or thereabouts. Hopefully the Z32 will enjoy a higher profile and status in the future and, as owners, we can all benefit from that. And not before time!! Richard:cool2:
  5. Exactly...... ......now go beat yourself with a piece of 4x2 for even suggesting this thread. Richard:blink: Disclaimer - 300zx.co.uk doe not accept any responsibility for injuries sustained during self beatings; whether or not at the suggestion of any of the admin or moderation team.
  6. That's a good deal..... ......plus Andy is a decent guy to buy from as well! Richard:cool3:
  7. Me too..... ......ONLY use a genuine Nissan belt. It's such a vital part so it should not be scrimped on:thumbdown: If it were my car I'd have it changed again right away, mate! Richard:)
  8. The grill sure is unusual....... ......but it is not too bad - different in an Aston-esque way. I think it would have been better with the standard nose panel though, rather than the vented jobby. There a lot of work gone into that car...... Richard:cool3:
  9. Doesn't look like anything is wrong Murt.... .....PCV valves or turbo seals would give blue smoke on idle. If you're not losing oil or water; and the temperature remains normal then I'd say it's fine! It's easy to worry though - 15 year old car and the threat of a big bill if something IS wrong........ Richard:donatello:
  10. My 2 pence worth..... .....I don't care! I may have missed the point of the original thread but here's my opinion. I don't care for "chavtastic" loud BOVs - no point! I'm 40 in a few days, not 18 so I don't need to announce my turbo charged presence with a Tisssssh sound..... Secondly Nissan spent time and money developing the engine set-up and, for most people, the recircs work just fine. I reckon I'll keep them and if they ever go wrong, I'll just replace them like for like. Richard:cool3:
  11. There are horror stories but I reckon that's mainly down to people purchasing cheap Ebay Zeds or poor maintenance. Or both! I used my first ZX twin turbo as a daily driver for 2 years and it never let me down; in fact when I changed jobs back in 2004 I was driving it over 250 miles per week! I then relegated it to a second car and the auto box went at 90k-ish miles but that was it. I'm on to my second one now - and that's also proved very reliable in the short time I've had it. I like to use it for holidays; in JAnuary I drove it over 1000 miles on a 5 day trip to Cornwall. I didn't hang around either yet the car proved faultless. Buy a good one and look after it and it will be fine - it's a Nissan after all and comes with the reliability one would expect from Nissan or any other Japanese car. Just bear in mind that at 15+ years old things will need replacing if they have not been replaced already; especially considering it's a junior supercar. I mean, you'd have the same issues with a 15+ year old Porsche as well...... Thing is, on any car forum you only hear the worst bits - this has gone wrong etc etc. No-one posts "my car is running fine" threads!! Good luck in your hunt. Richard:cool2:
  12. Wow.......well put! TBH the money you will make from the sale - even for Gruntpa's fine example - is not really worth selling up for ATM. Unless of course you need the cash. Sure my 300zx sits in the garage most of the time; but I still try and manage to get at least 3000 miles p/a out of it! If only to justify the insurance:lol: It always cheers me up when I drive it. And even with another, newish, fast sports car as a daily driver, the Z still shines above it. A real testament to how good the 300zx was in its day..........and still is:cool2: Richard:balloon:
  13. Good to hear from you mate! Good luck with the new build - and please do keep us informed of your progress... Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Sorry to hear that mate:( I hope you get sorted out and get yourself back into another soon. ATB Richard:)
  15. Any and every petrol head loves a V8....... .......when I decided to sell my red ZX I did think again about a Porsche 928gt. But then Phil's blue ZX came up for sale and it would have been daft to pass up the opportunity to buy a very nice example! Still, I guess when I replace my SLK I can go down the V8 daily driver route - the SLK55amg or (if I'm lucky and/or sell a kidney:crying:) an Aston V8 Vantage might be on the cards..... .......then I'll wake up!! Richard:tt1:
  16. A couple of good examples there thanks to Si. The second one at Crest Cars is only 8 miles or so from me - so if you wanted someone to come and take a look with you, I'd be happy to help! Oh, and welcome to the club Alex! Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Nice one Bri..... ......I love the classic Rangys and V8 is the only way to go:thumbup1: Fuel consumption and environmental concerns - stuff it; who cares:asshole: Richard:biggrin:
  18. Lovely colour ZX you have there mate! Richard:thumbup:
  19. I saw a red 300zx TT parked outside Central Tyres in High Wycombe this morning; as I was turning into the trading estate. Anyone here by chance.....? Richard:cool3:
  20. Flippin eck......:w00t: How lucky was he to walk away? Richard
  21. Some brilliant ones there..... ......and Daz, how come most of yours revolve around bodily functions..... A mate of mine who was a mechanic used to pour a pint of milk into the spare wheel well of customer's cars if they pissed him off. The smell of rancid milk must have been awful!! A jumped up restaurant owner once wound me up, so rather than twat him one, a couple of friends and I rang up over the next few days; booking every table on a Saturday night. We drove there around 9-ish just to see the whole place empty as none of the "bookings" had shown up. Other than that, I've also done the hole punchings thing - in someone's umbrella; coat hood and coat pocket.... When I first started work, there was another trainee and we used to play jokes on each other. One day when he was making tea for his manager, I sneaked into the kitched and poured salt into his bosses cup. They sat opposite each other and when his boss took a big sip, he spat the whole lot over this other fella and shouted "you f*****g little prick" at him, so loud that the whole place heard..... Other than than; nothing really....... Richard:cool2:
  22. I have to agree as well...... ........all those new Pugs look bloody awful:ohmy: Richard:mellow:
  23. Seconded!! Hope you're well buddy!! Richard:cool2:
  24. Very nice car, mate..... Plus it's a nice colour combination as well!! Good luck with it. Richard:punk:
  25. Congratulations mate!! And Gary is right.................... Richard:thumbup1:
