  1. Many happy returns guys!!! Richard:happybday:
  2. Nice idea - I'd say you won't have to worry about the fuel leak any more then......
  3. Very addictive..... .....but still an invasion of privacy I reckon. I'm with those those villagers in Buckinghamshire who blockaded their road so the snooping b@stards couldn't get a look in!! How long before certain authorities use it for ill gotten gains:death: Richard:taz:
  4. Nice one mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  5. I'm not too sure either Daz - just because I reckon the speedo may be a little hard to read "at a glance" Still; I hope they do look once in situ! Richard:thumbup1:
  6. MOst likely the small fuel hoses under the bonnet; around the fuel filter and under the plastic cover in the middle of the "V" The cold weather causes the rubber to contract a little and the high fuel pressure can result in fuel vapour seeping out of the rubber hose ends. Worst case scenario means replacing all the rubber hoses; but in most cases, just going round and tightening all the hose clamps will fix the problem! Richard:ph34r:
  7. I was thinking the same thing; she's very nice!! Actually I was just hoping (for Si's sake) that Amy wasn't your horse!!!!!:tt2: Richard:devil2:
  8. Come on then you two - spill the beans....... .....who's Amy??? Richard:detective:
  9. I cannot help you I'm afraid - but I do know what you mean about the Mercedes forums!! I posted a question a week ago and no-one replied for days:blush: I'm sure PaulC could help you though - he works as a MB technician! Richard:shaun:
  10. My thoughts exactly...... .....thing is, just how many people are really attacked by dangerous dogs? Not many in the grand scheme of things, I'd guess - so this is just another "sledgehammer to crack a nut" reaction by an over-legislative government that accept that the majority of people can actually think for themselves. The sooner they are consigned to the history books the better. Richard:wacko: PS Incidentally, I personally do not like any dogs; so no pet owning biased views from me!!!
  11. All brilliant - and not in the least offensive! Some people should just develop a sense of humour!!! Richard:cool3:
  12. Nice car mate - good luck with it! And I love the white as well...... Richard:yes:
  13. Most auto box woes are probably on J-spec cars; since the oil cooler is smaller and not up to the job! Here in the UK we drive harder, faster and further than they do in the Land of The Rising Sun. The UK spec cars have a bigger oil cooler - doing the modification will, in theory, help you 'box last longer...... ......although the auto box on my red ZX still fried itself at around 95k miles; losing 2nd and top gears.....:scared: Richard:cool3:
  14. Many happy returns!! Richard:happybday:

  18. Me too - like it's been said above, a decent Z mechanic can pull an engine in no time!! Plus it's a good opportunity to replace those "hard to get at" items that otherwise don't cost much but may go bad in the near future. EG rear crank oil seal; rear heater hoses etc etc. And you can inspect the clutch for wear too...... Richard:chef:
  19. Many happy returns mate......:happybday:
  20. Or the thousands of pot holes we are forces to clatter over each day...... .......sorry to hear the bad news fellas. I hope you both get your cars sorted withthe minimum of fuss and costs. Richard:sad:
  21. I may just do that mate - after all PaulC is a Mercedes mechanic so that's at least one person who may know the answer.......!! Richard:cool2:
  22. .....is it me or are they no help whatsoever....??? I posted a help thread on the Mercedes owners club forum 5 days ago and not one person can, it seems be bothered to help!! Sure, I appreciate that no-one may know the answer. But on here one can always guarantee a simple and courteous response within an hour or so - whether or not they have the right answer. Makes me appreciate just how good this club is. Richard:saddam:
  23. LOL - why not register as someone else and enter another set of predictions mate!! Richard:devil:
  24. Probably is right Vijay - there can't be many dinner plate sized rear fogs to chose from!! And I'd say that so long as the light was visible, bright enough and suitably located, then it couldn't be too small either!! Richard:cool2:
  25. Nice car Si - good luck with it! I tend to buy VWs as company cars for my staff; usually Passats or Golfs - and they do fare very well. I have just bought a new Passat HiLine TDi 140ps for one of my salesmen and it's superbly finished; leather & cruise etc as standard! I know what you mean about diesels though - not my bag either. I prefer the power delivery of a nice petrol motor!! Richard:cool2:
