Welcome to the club! Richard:yes:

Newbie stopping by to say Hi
Welcome to the club mate! As said - you have come to the right place for all things 300zx related! If you're trying to contact Zedworld, you are probably best giving Jeff a call during normal working hours - as they do get very busy. Jeff's a sound, reliable and knowledgeable guy and everyone at Zedworld is always pleased to help out a ZX owner. Richard:cool2:

Complete Newb just got my hands on a TT

Sold my car to an interesting guy.
So true! I've met Damo with his car a few times now and to say he's looked after it is an understatement! Welcome to the club by the way.... Richard:cool:

Sold my car to an interesting guy.
Sorry to see you sold the car Damo - but don't be a stranger mate; you've mate a few friends on here! Do stay on the forum; and anytime I'm up at Zedworld I'll give you a shout!! Congratulations on your purchase Johnny - you've bought a great car there. I'm pleased it's gone to a good home! Good luck with the road rally too; and I look forward to seeing you around on the forums in future! ATB Richard:chef:

heavy braking honk noise?
Does it coincide with coming off the gas; rather than the breaking action? I only ask, because the ZX can suffer from "goose honk" if you have an aftermarket induction kit fitted in place of the air filter box! Goose honk occurrs when accelerating and then coming off the gas - something to do with the recirc valves IIRC..... That's all I can think of mate. Richard:helpsmilie:

Bird fell out of the Sky and struck my car
I once had a pheasant hit my windscreen at 80+mph on the M25..... ........I saw the thing taking off from the hard shoulder and knew I'd hit it. Luckily there was no-one in the passenger seat at the time, so I accelerated and moved as far right as I could..... ......it ended up hitting the top left hand corner; it almost took the whole screen out as the left half was just flapping loosley! The damn bird left its claw in the windscreen rubber and a red streak over the roof of my (then) white Supra!! That was a fun job for Autoglass........ Richard:biggrin:

Think I'm gonna have to get rid of my Zed
Sorry to hear that Jane - hopefully the few suggestions given will help out as it'd be a shame to get rid of your car. It looks a nice example from the pics you have posted. And not necessary at the mo either - I reckon StellaZ has made the point quite clear to everyone; but they are watching....... Richard:yes:

candygram for mongo

timing belt change, what do i really need
Pretty much what he said..... .......if you know the belt was done not so long ago and the water pump etc were replaced at the same time, then fine. But if you don't know the history, it's definitely best to have the water pump and idler pulley replaced at the same time! It's not the parts that kill you, it's the labour cost - so whilst you have the front of the engine off it's best to do the lot all together. And make sure you have the two small hoses at the front replaced as well - these will inevitably fail about a month after you've had the job done otherwise..... Richard:cool2: PS I was wrong about the idler pulley not being expensive - that part is.

Little confused or is it a typo ?

Looks fantastic Stevie..... .......better without the spoiler IMO too mate!! Richard:batman:

H.I.D's for Jane and pete
What he said.......:sorcerer: I've had the conversion done on both my ZXs and neve had any MOT problems. The projector beam does help - sticking HIDs in a normal headlamp might not be so good.... ......I have 4300k lights and they're bright white with no yellow or blue tinge. Perfect! Richard:chef:

Found more filler - on the sill
Hi James, I've not used them but I've seen some of their work..... ......it's the bodyshop next door to Zedworld in Tamworth. Jeff uses him for his customers' cars and the cars I've seen coming out do look good. Give Jeff a call mate - he'll pass on the details! Richard:cool2:

Funky Si
As many of you have noticed by now, FunkySi was handed a permanent ban from the club yesterday evening. Many members know Simon and we are all familiar with his presence on the forums. He was indeed a popular character who made several friends in the club (me included); and he possesses a great knowledge and enthusiasm for the Nissan 300zx. However, as popular as he was, The Committee has (on several previous occasions) received complaints against Simon; because many members have felt offended, intimidated and even bullied by some of his acerbic posts. Some members have stopped visiting the forums as much or, in extreme circumstances, left the club altogether as a result. Simon has, consequently, received warnings and infraction for the worst side of his behaviour; and indeed has been handed short term bans on more than one occasion before now. Following a recent incident, and subsequent complaint(s), The Committee had a formal vote on what action to take in order to prevent this recurring. The verdict was, regrettably, to permanently ban Simon from the club. Simon was duly informed of The Committee's decision (and reasoning behind the decision) by e-mail yesterday evening, in accordance with the Club's formal policy on such matters; and, in keeping with Club policy, was offered the chance to appeal against The Committee's decision. This is a private matter between The Committee and Simon himself. So whilst we appreciate he will be missed by those he befriended over the years, please respect this privacy and refrain from posting "Reinstate Si" type threads etc on the forums. Any such posts will be swiftly moderated and persistent offenders will be dealt with as necessary. Thank you. Richard Smith Club Secretary On behalf of The Committee
