oil
Wow - another blast from the past! Hey Steve - hope you're well mate! On the oil subject - my understanding was that the higher number relates to the viscocity/stability at high temps; so a 5w40 is the same as 10w40 when warmed up and running...? Richard:sorcerer:

Best place to get a front brake caliper?
Yes he is mate - Zedworld; purveyors of quality 2nd hand 300zx spares! Just ask Jeff what he can do it for ................ Richard:flowers:

Black or Grey
I've voted grey....... .....black is a nice colour but for some reason I'm not as keen on the 300zx in black! Also black is too high maintenance - my last SLK was obsidian black and whilst it was a lovely colour (probably the nicest black I've seen) I was paranoid about every mark or blemish that could befall upon it. So for me I'd have to go grey....! Richard:flowers:

End of the road? or salvageable?
Anything can be repaired if you have deep pockets and are willing to pay...... .....but that does look pretty bad. If it was my car I'd get a couple of prices for a full repair and repaint; and then compare that to the cost of replacing the car altogether. Richard:blush:

Best place to get a front brake caliper?
On a Saturday evening after 8pm, I wouldn't think so.....:whistling: .....so I'd give JeffTT a call on Monday. You could drop him a PM over the weekend though and hopefully he can post you one out on Monday! Richard:cool3:

oil
Sound advice from Chris as always! This topic always yields several different replies as everyone has their own opinion or preference. But as Chris says, stick with a decent 10w40 or 5w40 fully synthetic and you won't go wrong! Richard:shuriken:

When nice things happen out of the blue
That is a damn nice thing to hear mate! It kind of restores one's faith in the human race! Sounds like you have a decent neighbour there - I'd buy the fella a bottle of whisky or wine or something as a thank you. It's always wise to repay good fortune, as you never know when you may need a hand in the future!! Richard:thumbup1:

Which insurance?
If it's a second car and you have a daily driver or company car, then try a classic policy from Lynbrooks. Richard:cool2:

That doesn't look a bad buy; especially considering the price - and the leather is also in nice condition by the look of it as well. Good luck with your purchase mate!! Richard:sorcerer:
