  1. LOL - you're not alone Dan...... Richard:wacko:
  2. Really mate - do you think you're winning any friends on this forum by reminding us a day after the event......? I reckon we need to consider your future within the club Sandy........!!! Richard:ohmy::ban:
  3. I like the sound of a nice sporty burble...... ......but not when it constantly intrudes into the car whilst driving! Sure, during a burst of acceleration it makes you feel good - but the incessant drone on a long m-way journey is no fun. And I must also be getting old as I hate to hear souped up Saxos etc revving along the public road (yet perversly I don't mind the roar or a TVR or the like!). That's why I like my Mongoose - it's throaty enough when pulling away gently. And a little blip of the throttle at walking pace sounds purposeful; yet during normal driving it's still reasonably quiet so I can hear the radio or have a conversation. But ignore me - I'm an old git of 41.....:1eye: Richard:cool2:
  4. That's true for private companies that patrol car parks etc - they're not governed by the road traffic act so the offence is a civil matter. In a civil matter you are under no obligation to name the driver (unlike if your car is caught on a speed camera); so in law, the driver of the car entered into a parking "contract" and not the owner. You just deny it was you and there's nothing at all they can do! A taxi rank is on the public road so it should come under the road traffic act. You can always lodge an appeal stating a good reason why you should not be fined - if the appeal is made within the time limit to qualify for any reduction in the penalty (as they often double after 7 or 14 days etc), then you usually get the chance to pay the lower fine if your appeal is rejected. Personally I'd say the fine seems justified - you are aware the bay became a taxi rank. Your mate says you weren't causing an obstruction but actually you were - to any taxis waiting to do business! The photo will most likely prove you were in the wrong...... .....but good luck if you do appeal - you never know! Richard:chef:
  5. It's already restricted to 112mph (or 180km/h) so the convertor makes the car think it's still doing km/h when it's actually miles. If that makes sense - so the new limit would be 180mph I believe so - but UK spec clocks are getting pretty rare now, so good luck in your hunt! Yup, what they said - so it's always best to have it done properly so that car knows exactly how fast it's really going! Richard:cool3:
  6. Yup - especially as there's nowt wrong with it! If you have it there you may as well make use of it mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. I believe that's the one! I haven't actually seen it - although when I wired in my new head unit, I did have to splice the amp's live feed into the live accessory connection. I had bought the Autoleads adaptor but there was no connection for the amp's power supply. It works fine for me - the rear speakers have that extra oomph now, even with the fader at 50/50. Richard:cool2:
  8. My thoughts as well..... ......replace the speakers with some new/good quality items and get a decent head unit. You can still make use of the stock amp for the rears if you want - and unless you're a banging base-head ICE freak, that will suffice! Richard:thumbup1:
  9. For 60 miles I'd also take the chance. Keep off m'ways etc and stay at 40mph max, and it shouldn't take you more than 2 hours. It'd take you as long towing/carrying on a flatbed. I've read your other post in someone elses auto-box thread; and as said above, your 'box is fried anyway so you'll not make it any worse. Staying at 40 or below will ensure you aren't putting too much pressure on the engine and cooling system. And finally make sure your AA or RAC cover is up to date! Good luck, Richard:chef:
  10. Nice car mate - good luck with it!! Richard:sorcerer:
  11. Exactly what I thought!! Great find Allan.... Richard:sorcerer:
  12. Personally I reckon that most additives are little more than snake oil..... .....that said, a decent fuel system cleaner could well improve things like you've just said. But there's no need for continued use - that's exactly what the manufacturers would like you to do!! Use a good one once, thereafter just fill up with a decent fuel that contains the detergents already, so you don't have to keep using other additives. Job done....:sailor: Richard:shuriken:
  13. Nice looking car you have there!! Richard:cool2:
  14. Congrats on the sale...... .....but comiserations on your loss. Still, as said above, once things pick up for you mate then hopefully you'll consider getting another one. Don't be a stranger to the forums though, you'll always be welcomed - z or no z! ATB Richard:yes:
  15. Looks a tidy car - and he does say it's an N/A in the advert....... ".....I opted for a non-turbo 5 speed manual version of the classic Z as I feel in my opinion there is little difference between the 'real world' performance of a twin turbo and a n/a car, but more importantly I do not have the worry of a potential £800 bill for each turbo if it goes pop. Reliability is a big factor as this is a genuine unabused car and now returns a respectable 29mpg which can't be bad for a big 3 litre V6........" And I guess he's not driven a healthy TT........:sweatdrop: Richard:cool2:
  16. Happy birthday Graham! Richard:happybday:
  17. Many happy returns Trish - have a great day!! Richard:happybday:
  18. Yup - very well explained indeed! I now understand the whole off-set thing; cheers Yowser!! And Gary, your Zeds are looking awesome mate.... Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Hmmmmmm - interesting!! Something you want to tell us then.....?? Richard:innocent::tt2:
  20. Yup - I agree as well. The more the councils have to pay out, hopefully they'll realize it's cheaper to fix the holes:wacko: Then again maybe not - I think they are insured for claims against them...... Richard:gun_bandana:
  21. Not another change of car Jane....... Richard:wink:
  22. I have the same pages as Hellraiser has sent you mate - the only option available on the UK series 2 (as per the second edition brochure) was "black leather seats with the nubuck-style fabric interior trim." Richard:surrender:
  23. Or those for the old Z31 turbo...... Richard:tongue_smilie:
  24. Happy birthday mate! Richard:rockon:
  25. Happy birthday mate!! Richard:rockon:
