Ed-ZX Newbie just bought a ZX
Welcome to the club Ed - and congratulations on your purchase!! That looks a tidy bargain you got there. Less than £1800 for a UK spec manual; nice one!! Richard:cool2:

SD card capacity
LOL - you're right there Daz!! But thanks for the answers guys - over 600 tracks is pretty good for a tiny piece of plastic!! It kind of renders the in-dash CD changer irrelevant and will certainly free up glove compartment space if I ditch the CD case!! Now I know what I'll be doing over the next few days...... Cheers! EBAY Rofl
LOL - great advert..... .....and some good comparisons plus helpful words from Yowser on the subject of performance.... But I'll always remember one car magazine's review of the FTO: ...."looks like it should chase Porsches but in reality it keeps up with Mondeos".... Then I don't really know enough about the FTO to comment.....:whistling: Richard:cool3:

SD card capacity
Hi all, anyone know how many "average size" music albums (or single tracks) I could fit on a 4gb SD card? I found a spare card with all my camera stuff and my car stereo has an SD card slot - so that could be a useful way of storing music!! Thanks.... Richard:detective:

Welsh Road trip day by day (Pics heavy!)
WOW! Great pics there Brillo - I love North Wales too.... .....I took my ZX for a blast around there about 4 years ago now. We stayed just outside Dolgellau for a week and visited those very same castles, among others, too! Conwy and Caenarfon (SP?) are also well worth a visit - as is Chirk! I must get back over there some day soon - your pics have given me the inspiration mate. I look forward to the next batch - have a great holiday!! Richard:thumbup:

ZX-TT; important info
Hi everyone, I have received an e-mail from Craig's (ZX-TT) brother Dan. Sadly Craig has been involved in a car accident and is currently hospitalized. Apparently he should be OK, but by all accounts he is in pretty bad shape at the moment. I have passed on my regards on behalf of the club and wished him all the best for a speedy recovery. I realize that a few members currently have some unfinished trading matters ongoing with Craig at the minute. I would ask that you please bear with the situation for the time being. The rest of The Committe and I will endeavour to keep everyone informed of any developments on this thread as they arise. Thanks for your attention, Richard:flowers:

Foa..... Zx-tt
I hope Craig is OK. I know him as a club member - we live about 12 miles apart and have met a few times at mini-meets or to trade with one another on the odd occasion. I have dropped him an e-mail in the last day or so; and I (along with Znut) am aware of the issues some members are currently experiencing. I guess that would explain the absence of a reply to date. I'm sure we all wish Craig a speedy recovery and I will attempt to contact him over the next few days. If anyone has any further issues regarding their dealings, please PM me or Znut (although Znut is busy with work commitments for the next couple of days so there may be a delay in his response). For those unsubbed members who cannot PM, then e-mail me on richardsmith@300zx.co.uk Thanks for your patience. Richard

Paintwork protection: film or sealant or?
Yup - amen to that mate! I must get my ZX professionally "paint corrected" as there are a few swirls in the laquer that I'd like to see the back of...... .....then a good coat of that Jetseal 109 sounds just the job!! Richard:yes:

FAO our TLO - possible group buy on brake kits?!

Paintwork protection: film or sealant or?
Hi Mike, I have read a similar thread regarding Supaguard; however that was on a detailing forum! My guess is that many valeters don't like it because it has the potential to put them out of work.......:innocent: It is expensive, as from what I read don't attempt it yourself; it needs professional application! It's best applied from new or after a full paint correction procedure as you'll only be sealing in the faults and blemishes. It won't protect against stonechips and scratches though..... My SLK had Supaguard applied from new and it's covered by a 3 year guarantee; and contrary to what I have read elsewhere, Supaguard actually recommends the use of Autoglym SRP to enhance the longevity!! The paintwork is still silky smooth to touch - no sign of contaminants sticking to it whatsoever. Although me being me, I've still waxed it once since buying the car, just to prolong the coating's life. But it did not require a polish first!! Personally I would just give the car a damn good polish then finish it off with an extra protective gloss sealant wax. Peach will no doubt recommend something dead good! Richard:thumbup:

Stability at speed
Regarding the front bumper - you mention the "facelift" one by which I assume you mean you now have a '99 spec? If so then I'd doubt that would make a difference as it was still developed by Nissan specifically for the car. But everyone seems to agree that the rear one will make a difference.....! New NEO appointed
Hi everyone, unfortunately owing to personal and work committments, Kim cannot organize JAE this year and has reluctantly had to step down as the club's National Events Organizer. However Vodkashots did step up to the mark and, with the full backing of The Committee, has been appointed as the clubs NEO. Kim is staying on The Committee as administrator and club shop-keeper though; which does mean that there is no vacancy on The Committee at present for another person. Consequently Vodkashots will remain a moderator for the time being; with the situation to be reviewed after JAE and the club's AGM. So please join me in thanking Kim for doing a fanastic job to date and making many a JAE such a great event; and congratulate Vodkashots (Ian) on his new role. Richard Club Secretary on behalf of The Committee

Fog Light!
Exactly! The right hand one is the light but the left is only a dummy and was put there for cosmetic reasons - ie to balance the look of the rear! Richard:sailor:

Stability at speed
I think the tyres are definitely your problem mate! Dropping the width won't make it any worse - the car should perform fine at high speed on stock tyre sizes. And whilst the spoiler was supposedly added to improve downforce (and consequently traction) on the TT, I'm not sure it would make much difference........ ........Although at 170mph there's a chance it might - Nissan knew what they were doing I guess. But unfortunately cheap tyres will make all the difference to the car's handling. When I bought my first ZX it had almost new Avons all round and high speed stability was suspect. Switching to Goodyears (and later Dunlop SP9000s) made is handle like a different car - it was way better! Also make sure the wheels are properly balanced. Even a little bit out of balance will be magnified at 150mph+ but may go unnoticed at more "normal" speeds. Finally have the full 4 wheel allignment carried out as well. Richard:chef:
