My New Stillen Type 3 lip - the whole story!!
I always liked the 99-spec, but on seeing Andy's car I reckon I might have to agree with you Mike!! And you're dead right about the charcoal strip mate!! Richard:yes:

First time seen a sylvia like this! - retro
Yup - I know what you meant Dave; as I totally agree with you!! The S13 and Z32 jumped way ahead of their predecessors in one single move; which as you say, put years between the old and new!! Richard:cool3:

front tyre advice.
225/40/18 would be fine - in fact they are the natural progression up from stock fronts. Standard = 225/50/16; first upgrade = 225/45/17 and then up to 225/40/18 etc... Richard:thumbup1:

LOL - I guess it is/was pretty much a Bluebird coupe....... Which is why I preferred the Celica of the day. And the Starion wasn't bad either..... ......the Z32 had barely arrived in the UK in 1989 (not many on F plates I'd wager, most early UKs were G or even H plates); that Sylvia must have been one of the last since the S13 200sx also came out here about the same time - replacing the Sylvia. Really gutted!
Yup - I'm glad you got it sorted mate! This is the kind of thing that many builders etc don't realize is a problem. Back in June I left my ZX with my local garage for an oil/filter change before taking it on hols. Since parking outside their premises is limited, once they had finished they left it safe in a side road (as they usually do) until I collected it. Thing is, one of the houses opposite was undergoing major renovation works and when I got to my car later that day, it was covered in cement dust. Luckily it was a dry day - but imagine if it had rained and the cement dust had gotten wet and turned to concrete! But I had to spend the evening gently wiping it down with an old towel and then giving it a thorough wash to ensure all the cement had gone. I really feel for the neighbours of that house, with nice shiney new Mercs and BMWs on their drives. I would be pretty pissed off TBH and would have to say something! Richard:cool2:

Aaah, that takes me back to my teenage years in the 1980s..... ....It looks a nice example - although I must confess I always preferred the Celica from that same era, to the Sylvia Richard:thumbup1:

Price of zeds...
Exactly - but if someone does want to pay a premium for a decent example then they will. A true enthusiast should see beyond the Ebay rubbish at £1000 and pay a premium for a straight, well looked after example. I know I would...... Richard:wink:

My New Stillen Type 3 lip - the whole story!!
I have to agree, that looks awesome Andy..... .....I always liked the Stillen lip but the work you have put into that makes it so much better!! Shame your sig is far too big though mate, TurboZ has had to purchase more forum bandwidth just to cope with it....... Lovely car IMO.... ....and I totally agree on the "overbite" phrase, I'm sure I've said that before too.... Richard:cool2:

Low fuel light
Exactly mate!! That's what the filter is there for...... .....it's fine to run the tank down to almost empty. I have been doing it for years in most of my cars and not once had a problem with crud getting into the engine! But do remember to replace the fuel filter once in a while...... Richard:yes:

Back for a second time!!
Welcome back to the fold mate - and that's a nice looking car you have just bought!! Pop a post in "items wanted" for the bits you need; even as an unsubbed member you can still buy stuff. You just cannot sell or advertise items for sale..... Richard:thumbup:

New Head moderator
Gary - well done mate. I'm sorry I could not make JAE this year as it would have been great to meet you in person. A big thanks on behalf of the committee to Graham for doing such a sterling job over the last 12 months as head mod - you'll be a tough act to follow mate. But time does march on and Gary was voted in this time around and, just like the rest of the committee, I'm sure he will prove to be a fine head moderator. Congratulations Gary - good luck in your new role. Richard:sorcerer:
