  1. Exactly matey!! And don't forget the big gun only comes out when he senses that someone needs shooting....... Richard:biggrin:
  2. I have another thought for you all regarding the private buying and selling of parts etc on the forum...... Let's not forget how difficult it can be to deal with breaking cars and selling the parts on etc when you have a full time job to hold down. Hell that's why there are professional breakers like JeffTT who will charge more; give warranties and deliver next day. If you buy privately, you pays your money and takes your choice; and above all, bear with the seller as far as reasonably expected!! It's a bit like running this forum - don't forget the committee and mods all give their spare time to the club and work forum issues around their day jobs, families etc. It's all too easy sometimes to expect responses, parts deliveries etc etc immediately because we are used to it at work; via online shopping 'sites etc; that we forget on web-based car clubs like this, the people we deal with are actually doing what they do (be it moderating, selling etc) purely as a hobby. And like any hobby it takes a back seat to "normal life." So whilst the vast majority of trading activities between members are glitch free, please remember the above points and have a little patience and consideration when dealing with somone who, like you, is just endulging in their hobby. If you want a part and you want it urgently, now, this minute, then contact one of our official traders who is actually doing it for a living!! Richard
  3. I have stayed out of this until now - since I have been called upon to look into the matter which provoked this suggestion. But having read some the nonsence spouted by 2 indivuals, I am will Stella 100% on the above post (have some rep my learned friend). And to Tony if you're reading this; if you made such a suggestion on here you'd have been handed a week's holiday for an inflamatory comment inciting potential violence. Like i have said, we have standards here so if you're not able to rise to said standards then you're not welcome. Simples........ And to Craig, having read all the to-ings and fro-ings regarding the debacle; whilst there might have been one or two communication issues, I believe you have done your best to make good the situation. I hope you and Marty can resolve your differences and (despite what some individuals elsewhere think) Groover, me and anyone else on the committee will assist both of you in any way we can under the circumstances. My personal opinion (and not that of the club, its committee etc; but mine only) is that "someone" here has tried to make a mountain out of a tiny molehill. You know who you are and such snide behaviour, if proven, will not be tollerated on this club 'site. Heed that warning my friend otherwise you too will be enjoying some time away from here........ Richard
  4. That is very true Ian....... And you too are dead right Steve; hence I am closing this thread now. If anyone who has legitimate reason to be associated with this matter, has something they wish to bring to the attention of the committee then please PM either Groover or me. Thank you. Richard
  5. Allegedly of course. Not to mention that Pete has not actually been active on here since March 2009. You know full well we cannot give out personal contact details owing to the data Protection Act. No wait, you wouldn't - since "certain individuals" on your committee effectively stole data that did not belong to you in order to set up your new club. Furthermore since it was 2 or 3 years ago that you dealt with Pete, what on earth do you expect to accomplish by opening up the matter and pursuing it now? Plus I did try to help you as far as I could recently; but owing to the time elapsed there was nothing else we could do. So harbouring a thief here - I think not since we have not openly let someone continue to trade after blatantly ripping good folk off.
  6. And not just down to you eh? Tony - I am not usually vocal as I try to remain professional - but shove it mate. We're just not interested; if you want to harbour a thief and encourage such despicable behaviour then do so. But it seems the moral high ground remains ours - as we have standards. And for the record, we only banned Chris for life AFTER most issues were resolved; and after giving Chris ample opportunity to come on here, apologize and communicate with Daz. We did not cut off any lines of communication. Get your facts right before casting incorrect judgements. Richard:asshole:
  7. Thanks for the vote of confidence Pete - it's always a fine line to tread but we did give Chris ample chance to set things straight before deciding on such a drastic course of action. But one thing is for sure, we will not tollerate this behaviour; and would certainly never let him try and trade again. Unbelievable IMHO....!!! I am pleased to hear that Daz - and Dean; you're a star mate. Coming to the aid of a fellow club member in times of need is commendable - on behalf of the club I thank you sir. Have some rep mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  8. Good choice Ian!! I love the Old School Rangies - especially a V8 - as they're both classy and class-less (and by that I mean country estate or council estate; it matters not; just like a VW Golf or Volvo XC90) at the same time..... Best of luck with your new toy matey - and if it is the BMW engine then ignore the reliability issues as it will be just fine!! Richard:thumbup1:
  9. There could be a load of gunk in the bottom of the reservoir - so my first thought would be to fill with boiling water and just run the washers until empty!! It's a bit gung-ho but easier than dismantling the washer bottle and associated pipework!! As for hard water - I live in a hard water area myself but I have never had this problem - but then I only buy ready-mixed screenwash for all my cars so they never get filled from the tap..... Good muck mate, Richard:thumbup1:
  10. Happy birthday mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  11. I'd say that's a bit of an exaggeration mate - even combined with other mods like an Apex-I air filter and remapping would not get you much more than that; unless you started seriously upping the boost..... Richard:yinyang:
  12. Agreed mate - black moustache all the way.....!!! Hell I reckon a bushy black 'tash would suit you too Andy; especially with the cowboy hat you were pictured sporting at JAE last year...... Richard:biggrin:
  13. Yup - exactly what Gaz said..... .....and happy birthday from me too mate!! Richard:biggrin:
  14. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  15. Read text....? Actually I didn't mate; I just looked at the pictures.....
  16. Only when I think of you Andy...... I agree Phil - the original bumper looks best with the moustache in a contrasting black or grey...... ........the 1999-spec front end works like that; but IMO the moustache on the 1990 bumper makes the car look lower and meaner..... Heh heh, it was a close call Paul!!! I would have happily gone 1999-spec, having done that on my last ZX and loving the look; not to mention seeing how good yours looks in TK3 blue with a 99-spec. But after seeing Andy's car in the flesh, I realized how much I liked the original front end too - and the Stillen lip gives the original a fresher look..... Plus there are a lot of ZXs sporting the 99-spec now so I thought I'd try something a bit different this time.... Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Agreed...... .....TBH, it's simply not worth the cost of the conversion; as you'd need to save a hell of a lot in fuel costs to make up for it. It would probably take years!! Richard:shaun:
  18. Interesting pics there mate; thanks for sharing them...... .....and I saw the Z headlights on that (sadly) rotting Diablo - what a waste.....!!! Richard:blink:
  19. Looking good Steve...... .....I have never used a clay bar myself; although I have heard good stuff about the results!! The most I have done in recent years is just a thorough going over with Autoglym SRP - and perhaps a little bit of Autoglym paint renovator on more stubborn blemishes etc - followed by a top coat (or two) of a sealant wax. The Merc's paint is as smooth as a baby's bottom (but it is only 3 years old); plus the ZX and Julia's Rav-4 didn't come up too badly either!! Now I just top up the sealant once every few weeks; just to keep the cars repelling water, bird poo and other contaminants..... Richard:thumbup1:
  20. Many happy returns mate - have a great day!!! Richard:thumbup1:
  21. Pure class Gary - I like that. A lot; although I would not have it in a red car though......
  22. So do I Gaz - but on the blue car, the OEM grey is lighter and a bit weaker IMO, than the strong dark grey I had on my red ZX.... ......and I was thinking satin too matey!! Richard:thumbup1:
  23. My car is booked in to have my Stillen front lip fitted next week; and I have decided to have a couple of other paint issues tidied up whilst it is in the workshop..... ......I also want the "moustache" area on the front bumper repainted; as the mid-grey is looking a bit tired. So what do you think will look best - I'm going for black; but would you pick matt, gloss or satin....? Richard:thumbup:
  24. I thought they had the same protection - but I agree about imports being considered more rust free owing to them not spending so much time here in winter when we salt our roads. In Japan they use some kind of volcanic ash on the roads in harsh winter conditions. But give all J-spec cars a few years here and they'll soon be just as rusty (potentially) as domestic examples - don't kid yourselves J-spec owners!!! All 300zxs need rustproofing during their lifetimes, just to keep the tin-moth at bay......:ninja: The thing that baffled me was that this car was supposedly imported in 1990; whilst I don't necessarily doubt that, back in 1990 the grey import scene was unknown. Not to mention that one could buy a 300zx from Nissan here, since they were on sale in new form!!
  25. I find that too Dave - barely any difference (normally) between regular u/l or super and so on...... ......although I do find that V-power gives me around 10% more miles per tank - although TBH I don't care about fuel economy else I would not have a 3.0 twin turbo and a 308bhp 3.5 v6!! But in the height of summer (I mean when we actually have temperatures of 26 degrees and over) I do find that the 300zx prefers V-power to regular u/l on those exceptionally hot days!! Richard:biggrin:
