  1. Many happy returns Andy!! Richard :happybday:
  2. Yup - you can do this Ian.... ....As you are the current owner, you can ask DVLA to give you details of all the former keepers of your car (since it has been in the UK). It always used to be free, but I think Stu is right, they do charge you nowadays - not sure it's that much though!! Richard:cool3:
  3. The Mongoose/Blue Flame exhaust is not quiet - but it's probably the quietest aftermarket one available!! As Steams says, the only quieter one is the stock one...!!! The Mongoose just enhances the ZX's natural engine bellow without being too loud; although there is definitely a more pronounced rumble inside the car at around 2000rpm. But let's be honest, the 300zx is not the quietest car anyway is it - don't forget, the car was withdrawn from the UK/Euro market in 1994 as it would not comply with new noise regulations.... I am happy with the noise my Blue Flame makes - not overly loud but just sporty enough. Although at low frequency on idle, when the car is parked in front of the garage, the resonance from the back end does cause the garage door to hum in time with the engine....!! Richard:cool3:
  4. I'd most likey say that as well..... .....and whilst they are cheapo tyres, it can just as easily happen to expensive ones. I had the same thing to a Goodyear Asymetric on my ZX - when I bought new wheels, I had intended to swap the tyres over from my old wheels; seeing as I had only bought the tyres new myself a year earlier and (supposedly) knew they were OK..... .....and they looked fine when they came off the old rims; but as soon as one was inflated on a new rim, the scary truth was revealed!! The tyre fitter said that it most likely had sustained pot hole damage. Good spot there Jeff - although I'd guess that as those tyres are directional (as opposed to "inside/outside"), then the dealer probably knew one was FUBAR'd and popped it on the car knowing that it would not be noticed if the damage was on the inside....:death: Richard:sad:
  5. And from me too..... I also thank you for your continued support! Richard:cool3:
  6. Cool - I'd have loved travelling in that as a kid..... ......and exactly what I was thinking too mate!! Richard:lol:
  7. Many happy returns Steve - I hope all's well with you mate!! Have a great day, Richard :happybday:
  8. Yup - it is indeed good to see the profile of the Z32 being raised - and the club getting a mention to boot!! Ian has done a good job on the article and sent me a nice e-mail in thanks yesterday!! I must make sure I get myself a copy before Wednesday.... Richard:cool3:
  9. ^^^ I see what you mean Dicky; in your case that does seem harsh as the credit card company did not give you any option to defend your own position. Sadly that is often the way with credit card card companies - a bit like how they just swallow the losses to fraud without even bothering to pursue known perpetrators; which we all know just increases costs for consumers and businesses. It's the easy option for them...... I see why you won't take credit cards now mate; but at least they paid your money back in the end! Hopefully Nick will have similar good fortune now he has another avenue to explore.... Richard:cool3:
  10. Good luck in your new job Alan!! Richard:thumbup:
  11. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:cool3:
  12. Hi Nick, I'd say that if the warranty company refuses to pay out on the grounds the fault was present before the warranty started, then the dealer is responsible - as the car was sold to you with that defect. So my course of action would be to go back to the car dealer, with that in mind, and say that as far as you're concerned, either the dealer or the warranty company is liable for the repairs; and ask what he is going to do to help you out. If he supplied the warranty then he surely has a duty to assist you in pursuing your claim against the warranty company - failing that he needs to make good on the cost himself. Another thing, did you finance the car at all; or pay using a credit card? Under the Consumer Credit Act, the company providing finance may also be held (jointly) liable, should the product purchased not be fit for purpose. Sure, it could well be just another company in the loop denying responsibility; but as you are the innocent consumer here each party should be doing their best to help you resolve the issue. And if not, contact your local Trading Standards office! Good luck mate Richard:cool3:
  13. I'm sure there is an abrasive glass polish you can use (perhaps with a polisher or electric drill) to buff the window and lessen the appearance.... .....I need to do this on my driver's side door, so if anyone knows how to do it and what to use, please enlighten us! Richard:cool3:
  14. I agree.... ......And if they don't then you and your fellow residents should get in touch with your insurance companies (car and buildings) who will no doubt happily pursue NR (or their insurers) to recover their own losses after paying you all out....! Good luck mate - don't let them get away with it! Richard:cool3:
  15. LOL - that's what I thought Mandy.... ....the insurance thing, not your age hun.....
  16. Very true - by the time I had read all the other posts I had forgotten about that!!!
  17. I do love the Bentley - even if it's a bit "Premiership footballer" it's still a great car..... ....would I have one though...? .......Yes, I reckon I would!! Richard:cool3:
  18. I think insurance went down towards the end of last year. When I insured the SLK in autumn 2011 I struggled to get covered for under £500 - but this time plenty of good companies were offering premiums of under £400..... With decent policies too; Esure were the cheapest and their cover was very good - but I went with Sainsbury's premier all singing all dancing option for only a tenner more!! But has it really made a difference? Unless you comparing insurance for both men and women under 25 (or maybe 30); in my experience, like for like car insurance was never cheaper for women once over "that" age where [young] men are considered a higher risk. Richard:cool3:
  19. Never mind Daz - it looks like you've made good progress on it..... .......and just be thankful that it was not a real one!!! Richard:cool3:
  20. Not bad...... ......I prefer the standard car though....:whistling: Richard:cool3:
  21. Many happy returns Lance! Richard:cool3:
  22. Looking good Bri - great to see you have the Z on the road mate!!! Thanks for sharing.... Richard:cool3:
  23. Good man...... And thanks for the kind words mate!! Sorry to see your ZX has moved on, but things inevitably do that from time to time; I am pleased you secured a relatively quick sale and hope you got a decent price..... Richard:cool3:
  24. Thanks for your continued support Lee..... Richard:rockon:
