Red Lyon Christmas meet
That's more like it - I am available any Saturday and Sunday apart from the dates I listed above..... And to add, I might also be unavailable on Sunday 15th December too as we're doing our annual pilgrimage to the Bath Christmas Market on either 8th or 15th; depending on Julia's floristry course!! .....So now we have some really positive interest, what's everyone else's availability like in the run up to Christmas? It'd be good to get this booked as it's the first Thames Valley (I would have used the abbreviation TV, but thought better of it...) meet for bloody ages!!! If everyone above can come, it's already on the way to being a good gathering..... Richard:cool2:

more rear brake issues
....And after my reply in your other thread just now, I popped down to the garage to shine a torch through the rear wheels. And yes, my rear discs are showing signs of limited pad contact on the outer face - with a very deep ring of rust on the outer edge of them. The "clear" area is a band of only an inch or so around the centre of the disc. Which probably explains why there was nothing wrong with the fronts when I last had them looked at - although the new Brembo discs I had fitted on the fronts only 10k limes ago are now showing signs of wear as quite a lip has formed!! How are you fixed over the next couple of weeks for taking a look, please Jeff..... Richard:ohmy:

fed up with poor brakes
Thanks for that Jeff..... .....Off to look at mine now; as I think my rear brakes have seen better days....

low mileage
Yup - and I also know of another 11k miler on the forum..... PhilP owns a black ZX that once belonged to the Sultan of Brunei - that is a UK spec car, on an H-plate with only 11k miles on it!!! Richard:cool:

Hi everyone, After a few comments on the subject, I reckon we should try and hold a local meet at the Red Lyon in Hurley before Christmas..... Perhaps even a proper club lunch!! What does everyone think; and what day should me make it for? Please register your interest below; and that includes the South Central and South East members, plus anyone else who is within reasonable driving distance of Hurley (near Henley/Maidenhead - about 10 minutes from M4 j8/9)..... Richard:rockon:

Where does your radiator water level sit?
Sorry, yes - it is an overflow tank and not a pressurised expansion tank (my mistake above); but the explanation Fraser linked to also referred to it as an overflow tank....
-
Where does your radiator water level sit?
You're right mate - it does.... I remember JeffTT mentioning it in an earlier thread somewhere.... As the engine cools down, coolant is sucked back from the expansion tank to restore the equilibrium in the radiator - but it can take some time. So best test the level after the car has stood cold for a few hours mate! As for the coolant level, it should be just below the rad filler neck when cold - and about half way up the dipstick in the expansion tank.... One tip I got from Jamie at Zedworld was not to turn the rad cap to its fully closed position - apparently over time the filler neck can get a little worn where the rad cap sits at fully closed; hence coolant can seep past it under pressure. So he suggested I leave the cap about 5mm to the left of fully closed..... Richard:cool2:

Sideways...?? Never seen wallpaper applied horizontally before mate..... But I have seen wallpaper with a horizontally orientated stripe.... I'd hate to apply the paper horizontally; as you'd have to go round the room and hope that the stripes line up when you meet the other end!!
