Has the Z32 300zx come of age?
Nicely put indeed Si - along with subsequent comments from Steve, Joel and Dougal etc..... .....Times have changed, not just with the 300zx, but with most cars; the old, lairy, "Lax Power" nonsense from 10-15 years ago has had its day and subtlety has prevailed. It stands to reason that good, clean, unmolested examples with only slight upgrades are becoming collectable. I mean, you don't buy an E-type or a DB5 and nail a body kit to it!!! Car makers spend millions on R&D; so what makes Joe Public think he can do better with a bit of fibreglass? Of course, some cars are dog turds from the factory and always will be - but other cars were made just right from the off. A classis car is a classic for a reason! Richard:thumbup:

Caliper Refurb Costs
£400 - I'd say you could buy a set of reconditioned calipers on an exchange basis for less than that Lee. Granted, it was 3-4 years ago now, but I bought mine for around £275 (after exchange rebate) from a company called Brakes International - http://www.brakesint.co.uk - I also think Big Redd does something similar! Richard:cool:

Yup - exactly what he said..... ....A great day indeed - and congratulations to Joel for coming 2nd in the "People's Choice" awards. Joel's car was way better than the 3000GTO that won; but what the hell.... Nice one Joel:bow: And great to catch up with everyone there!! Richard:thumbup:

I'm all set for tomorrow. Zed is clean and ready to go...... ........We're just chilling at Chilworth Manor Hotel; getting ready for dinner and a nice bottle of something sparkly I think.... No early starting for us - just a relaxed 10 minute drive to the rendezvous point at 8 tomorrow:dance:

Anyone ever heard a zed with no silencers?
No mate.... .......My Zed has not been my DD since 2004 - but I would still get tired of that noise! I do, however, use my Zed for holidays and Sunday jaunts - wherein I might travel over 1,000 miles in a week; or a couple of hundred on a Sunday. So by the time I'd been on the motorway for 5 minutes, my ears would be bleeding and I'd be wishing I'd have walked!!!

Anyone ever heard a zed with no silencers?
Some awesome sounding cars there - but I think I'd get tired of that noise after a while..... .......I guess I must be getting old.....:wheelchair:

Simply Japanese.
I'm not..... Hopefully I'll get to clean my Zed Saturday morning. To be fair, it's not dirty enough that I couldn't just go round with detailing spray; but I'd like to do it properly!

Looking forward to this one!! Instead of driving down on Sunday morning, Julia and I are heading down Saturday afternoon. Hotel booked, table for dinner reserved, leisurely start in the morning as we'll only be 10 minutes away from the pre-show meeting point!! All I need to do now is make sure my Zed is clean.... Richard:thumbup:

Built vs bought - opinions please!
LOL - metaphorically speaking of course Joel....

Built vs bought - opinions please!
You pays your money, you takes your choice..... ......Same goes for the "VW vs Skoda" question - whilst they are essentially the same cars underneath, when you actually get your arse into one of them, unless you're blinkered by the cost saving, it's 100% obvious that they are not!! Hence I will echo Brian's post above - what does the customer want; what does he want to pay and, ultimately, what can he actually afford. A custom-made option will always be best; and if I ever look at a re-trim, then I'll most likely be knocking on Mondo's door as opposed to buying a "pre-fab" interior from overseas.....
